The hotel is located right by the train station so it was easy to transport our luggage. We contacted them ahead of time and George was there to take our bags so we could explore Dover before checking in. He had some excellent tips for navigating the town and told us about the military resources nearby which was a great way to stretch our legs after the train ride. Our room was clean and cozy. Jan was delightful and helped us get a cab to the cruise terminal. We are so glad we decided to go to Dover a day early.

I had some trouble navigating the phone system on my cell to contact the cab, but that's more operator error than anything else.

Wonderful hosts! Travelled from NZ with and 8yo, being able to check in early, I was sooo greatful. (I did reach out and asked before arriving if it was possible to give them time) We did a lot of outings and had plenty of concerned/ care emails checking we were ok and safe, which is beyond caring and I really appreciated. Travelling on your own with a child in a strange world can be overwhelming, but we were made to feel safe. Can’t wait to come back and stay again 😊

Our hosts, especially George, were very accomodating to us during our whole stay. Went out of his way to receive our backpacks even before check in time so we could spend our long walks comfortably without our heavy backpacks. Location is very convenient, as it's just across the road right outside the train station. Our room were very cozy and comfortable, really good deal for the price. Very clean and tidy too. :) would definitely book again someday when we come back :)

The location was perfect for our cruise. Had we been more knowledgeable about how the trains run through London, we could have taken one to this hotel/flat from London, as the Train station is directly across the street. The owner had given me some Taxi numbers to reserve to take us to the Port but after reserving and paying in advance, it did not show up. (Not the owners' fault by any means) BUT - Bonus for us, we were able to walk across the street and take a bus to the Port for a fraction of the cost of the taxi. It was a private bus - not the city bus. The lady that greeted us at the door was very nice and thorough explaining everything about the place. She told us where and how to get to town (within walking distance) and where to go once we got there. Check out is at 1000 but our cruise transfer/taxi was not until 1130. The owner was willing to let us store our luggage on site until our taxi time. This meant that he would have to come back to let us in to get it because he and the management do not stay on site. You need to schedule your check in time so that they are.

Our room faced the street, and because we were across the street from the Train Station, it was noisy with traffic all night. STAIRS... be prepared to climb stairs to the lobby and rooms. No elevators. It wasn't terrible, but with luggage and bad knees it was a bit tiring.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Dover's Restover during our visit to Dover, and I must say, it was an experience we won't easily forget. From the moment we arrived, George and the team made us feel incredibly welcome. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the amenities one could hope for. The location was convenient, making it easy for us to explore the local attractions. What stood out the most was the warm hospitality we received. George went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, even providing us with some invaluable local tips. We were warmly welcome by Jan who made us feel right a at home. The room was cozy, but confortable, with coffee, tea and biscuits waiting for us. We choose the Full English Breakfast, which was excellent—well worth the extra charge and plenty of food to fuel us for a busy day of hiking and siteseeing. George was friendly and engaging and it was a pleasure to chat with them both during breakfast.

Didn’t have breakfast as served from 7.00am to 8.30am so too early for me ! Location near to shops, restaurants etc was very good. The first night I was there the TV suddenly stopped and it wouldn’t turn back on no matter what I tried even though the blue light was flashing. I forgot to report it on the Friday morning so by the time I mentioned it Friday evening it was understandably too late to do anything. However on Sat George the owner replaced it with a new one so all was well for Sat night viewing !

Toilet didn’t flush well on second day. I reported it at the end of my stay.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Everything that we needed to know was explained in a very friendly manner. Breakfast time was a delight with a variety of choices. The breakfast cooked by George was delicious and the hospitality in a very polite and friendly atmosphere was fantastic. The location was brilliant as Dover‘s attractions including the town, castle, beach, harbour, the famous white cliffs and much more were all in walking distance.

Nothing, everything was good.

Amazing owner of the place, I had a great contact via email as well as on site. We stayed only for 1 night but the location is really good so could be used for longer stay as well while visiting Dover. We got everything that the hotel offers including the kettle - all for good price. Parking on the street but it is free and no problem with places. Less than 2km to ferry port.

Really comfortable clean room, walking distance from train station. Small and quaint but did the job. Staff were lovely helped us with booking a taxi for our ferry the next day, local knowledge and we were able to leave our bags earlier in the day so we could explore Dover which was a fantastic adventure. 😀
