We travelled as a family of 12. So we required two rooms and the appartment. Lovely place easy to get to and very accessible to the Fover to Calais ferry. . Staff were friendly and helpful the place was clean and comfortable and the showers were hot. The bedroom was of a good size and tge appartment was excellent and fully met our needs. Nice bar area and general areas. We had already eaten so did not get the chance to sample the food but we noticed that the prices were reasonable and we regretted our decision to eat earlier otherwise we would have had dinner at the 5 bells. We would recommend and stay at this hotel again

The only negatives were that no car park was available but there was plenty of space to park in the street. We had 3 cars one of which was a VW Crafter Motorhome and all found ample parking space. The noise from the road was a constant but we had already done our homework and was aware of this issue so some decent ear pods/plugs soon resolved any problem and we tend to wear ear pods for sleep anyway.

Well-apportioned annexe to the pub, comfortable seating, dining area and desk. A separate room with a large bed featuring a firm mattress covered in high-quality cotton sheeting. Table lamps provide warm ambient lighting to the rooms.

Bedroom by the roadside, fortunately not a busy road to compensate for light sleeper.

Beautiful place nice and peaceful quiet place, like it very much.

Can't find any stuff to ask there is any kitchen, I can use microwave, I stayed 7 days no one come to clean my room, I did clean myself, which I don't like at all, otherwise everything great, I collect my room key from the lady, she is very good person very kind, overall great 😊

The pub was very smart inside - nicely decorated; pleasing pictures on walls. The room and en-suite were spotless. Towels, toiletries etc. Everything you needed. Barstaff very welcoming; landlady superb - cooked the top quality breakfast. Just a really nice place to stay and only a short drive from a beach in Kingstown or the delightful town of Deal and handy for Dover too. Three great castles nearby - Dover, Walmer and Deal (all English Heritage) and all worth a visit.

Nothing to improve.

We only booked for one night and arrived after the 10pm check in but we were left a key for the room in a handy spot. Nice, comfy room and very quiet. We were up and out before breakfast so can't comment on that. The only negative was that we couldn't make a brew. We had a kettle, tea bags and coffee but no milk. It wasn't the end of the world at all and we'd go back so we can actually see the location in daylight 😂. Handy for the ferry.

Only stayed for one night before catching ferry to France the next day. As the hotel is less than 15 minutes to Dover it is an excellent place to stay. Although it is linked to a public house I heard no noise so could get a good night sleep.

Maybe for the price breakfast could have been included but I don't know how that would have worked given that the rooms are external to the pub.

Just want to say we had an amazing stay at the five bells especially after our meal we went to the bar at the five bells and must say the two ladys working behind the bar were so lovely and we had a good chat for about two hours which was very nice I would recommend the stay here to anyone amazing 💯 thank you

There was nothing that we did not like

after reading reviews on the five bells and having already booked i was wondering if i had made a mistake but went with it we arrived to a friendly welcome and had a drink at the bar then i took the bags to the room to find a nice room i went back to the bar where we sat with friend and had a very tasty meal a couple more drinks then to bed the room nice as it was and a nice powerful shower was let down by the mattress up in the morning to a good breakfast and a nice chat with kate the landlady to find out she only took the place over a year ago she has turned it round since i was reading old reviews i would recommend a stay hear to anyone

the only thing to improve my stay is a more comfortable mattress

Harriet the barmaid was awesome, played pool with my little girl on a quiet Sunday nigh before we took the tunnel to France ford Disney land. Beds Comfortable food and beer great. could of done with coffee and tea in room for morning drinks hough. A great little find!

Great, comfy little Inn close to the port of Dover. I travelled alone with 2 children and the room was great. Very comfortable. had everything we needed for a one night stay to get an early morning ferry. The girl who welcomed us when we arrived quite late was super friendly and we stayed for a drink at the bar. Easy to drop keys and leave early for the ferry.
