Beautiful place nice and peaceful quiet place, like it very much.

Can't find any stuff to ask there is any kitchen, I can use microwave, I stayed 7 days no one come to clean my room, I did clean myself, which I don't like at all, otherwise everything great, I collect my room key from the lady, she is very good person very kind, overall great 😊

The pub was very smart inside - nicely decorated; pleasing pictures on walls. The room and en-suite were spotless. Towels, toiletries etc. Everything you needed. Barstaff very welcoming; landlady superb - cooked the top quality breakfast. Just a really nice place to stay and only a short drive from a beach in Kingstown or the delightful town of Deal and handy for Dover too. Three great castles nearby - Dover, Walmer and Deal (all English Heritage) and all worth a visit.

Nothing to improve.

We only booked for one night and arrived after the 10pm check in but we were left a key for the room in a handy spot. Nice, comfy room and very quiet. We were up and out before breakfast so can't comment on that. The only negative was that we couldn't make a brew. We had a kettle, tea bags and coffee but no milk. It wasn't the end of the world at all and we'd go back so we can actually see the location in daylight 😂. Handy for the ferry.

after reading reviews on the five bells and having already booked i was wondering if i had made a mistake but went with it we arrived to a friendly welcome and had a drink at the bar then i took the bags to the room to find a nice room i went back to the bar where we sat with friend and had a very tasty meal a couple more drinks then to bed the room nice as it was and a nice powerful shower was let down by the mattress up in the morning to a good breakfast and a nice chat with kate the landlady to find out she only took the place over a year ago she has turned it round since i was reading old reviews i would recommend a stay hear to anyone

the only thing to improve my stay is a more comfortable mattress

Only stayed for one night before catching ferry to France the next day. As the hotel is less than 15 minutes to Dover it is an excellent place to stay. Although it is linked to a public house I heard no noise so could get a good night sleep.

Maybe for the price breakfast could have been included but I don't know how that would have worked given that the rooms are external to the pub.

Just want to say we had an amazing stay at the five bells especially after our meal we went to the bar at the five bells and must say the two ladys working behind the bar were so lovely and we had a good chat for about two hours which was very nice I would recommend the stay here to anyone amazing 💯 thank you

There was nothing that we did not like

Great, comfy little Inn close to the port of Dover. I travelled alone with 2 children and the room was great. Very comfortable. had everything we needed for a one night stay to get an early morning ferry. The girl who welcomed us when we arrived quite late was super friendly and we stayed for a drink at the bar. Easy to drop keys and leave early for the ferry.

Nothing we didn't like.

We needed a comfortable stay coming from the ferry in Dover. This pub is a 10 min drive from the port (and for those among us who need a bit of time to get used to driving on the left: it’s literally a straight line there). The pub has that typical English pub feel (which we love), while the dinner section had a hint of gourmet Italian restaurant (which we love). Clean, comfortable, child-friendly, with pleasant rooms and a great shower. The owners are friendly and super knowledgable about local historic sites (which we love!). And honestly, we had the biggest and best Full English Breakfast known to man. Recommended!

Quaint little pub, with very clean rooms. The Owner Kate goes to great lengths to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The Food is excellent. Cost of anything is very reasonable.. Kate and her Team go more than the extra mile to make sure her Guests are comfortable. As a New Owner of the Establishment there are a few Quirks that are being ironed out, the experience and cleanliness of the establishment, the Wonderful food and everyone making sure you are comfortable, actually makes you look past the few quirks.. Our experience was a great one and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Free Parking. The pleasant welcome. The evening meals & cost of drinks was well priced and value for money. Breakfast included in the room cost, was plentiful and adequate for our needs. Bed was comfortable.

Lack of air conditioning, had window on 1st floor open but huge mosquitoes had come in. No wifi connection available but that was explained at check-in and accepted tradesmen where there upgrading their communications systems on the day so acceptable.
