Room was spot on very big. Easy to come go as you pleased. The breakfast we did have was good value for money and nice. The people we spoke to was all very nice. It is placed in the middle of most places if you want to have a look round Kent

Nothing really bad. There was just a few little moans really. There was mould in bottom of shower but the shower was really good. Bed was mega soft don’t think it helped being two single beds put together. Also We couldn’t get kettle under the tap to fill with water had to keep using a cup to fill it up but it wasn’t the end of the world. The location is out the way and the roads are all single track with lots of blind corners and driving a big car didn’t help if you came across anybody. The pub did food but didn’t have any menu for the pub or anything about breakfast in the room. Nothing was mega bad there these are just a few little things it was also really hot in our room a fan or might have been nice.

It's a very quiet little village pub with accommodation above the bar area. Parking is off the road. The bar and bar food are very pleasant, with a wholesome pub grub on offer. It's about 12 minutes from Dover Eastern docks ideal for an overnight stay prior to boarding an early boat. With the wait times for French customs and the problems of the M25 that is to be recommended. The beds are comfortable.

Flat 1 either has a ghost or a very strange noise from the water pipes. You hear this sharp knock three times and then a sort of moaning for 10 seconds. That goes on for a hour or more. The green emergency light is annoying so bring gaffer tape to hide the light when you want to sleep. As with many double rooms you only get one seat, so one person has to rest on the bed in the evening.

Very welcoming, unpretentious village pub in a beautiful location handy for Dover and Deal. Free parking which is always a good start; the rooms were spacious, very clean and nicely furnished (a mirror in the room might have been handy, but a very small point). The bed was super comfortable. It was a very hot day and my bedroom felt a bit warm although there was a fan available which I made use of. I had a light breakfast but there was lots on offer, and it was beautifully cooked. All the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. I didn't eat there in the evening just to get out somewhere different for some fresh air, but the meals looked lovely and plentiful.

The breakfast was superb (cooked fresh and came up hot and tasty) and excellent value for money. The lady chef (who works Monday and Tuesday) made us feel extremely welcome and provided us with a hearty start to our day. I must also give a shout out to the main chef Brian who prepared the most amazing Sunday roast. Excellent service, quality and value for money.

We didn’t like the fact there were a steep set of stairs going up to the bedrooms. It’s tricky when you’ve got cases but we managed. Should really be signposted on the booking website.

The meals are lovely. Evening as well as breakfast. Also, due to a health issue, I am only able to eat small amounts at a time. On the 2nd day, I just had a box of cornflakes, orange juice, coffee and lovely scrambled egg (no toast) for breakfast, but I was only charged half price. We've stayed before and it is a great location, very central to a lot of things.

Couldn't get the TV to work. It just kept buffering. The bathroom sink tap was too forceful, had to keep mopping up the floor every time we washed our hands.

Everything about this stay was excellent. Warm, friendly local pub with super friendly staff. Tastefully decorated room that was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Shower was very good and the bed was perfectly comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee making supplies. The evening meal was huge, hot, fresh and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was at extra cost, but again was top quality and worth every penny. Located in a peaceful village, but only 15 minutes from Dover and about 5 from Deal. An exceptional experience.

Honestly couldn’t find a fault

Lovely pub set deep in the Kent countryside around 10 miles from Dover. Room was spacious, clean, very quiet and comfortable. Had dinner in the downstairs pub, very friendly and helpful bar lady. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional, I am fed up with being given cold toast or butter which is ice cold and has the constitution of a brick, not here, and it was nice bread, and there was a good choice. Would stay again if ever I was back in this part of the world

Nothing really, it was all good

We received a lovely welcome. We were a little late due to Storm Cairan bringing down trees and us having to divert. The room was lovely and clean. Facilities were good. I don't usually use the shampoo/conditioner but they were Pure by gloss which was a fabulous touch. Breakfast next morning was amazing. All cooked to perfection. I had the small full English and still didn't manage to finish it. All round a great stay for our 30 minute trip to Dover... Excellent.

The only gripe I have is that there isn't a mirror over the dressing table. However, the hairdryer cord did reach the bathroom mirror but that mean't no-one could use the shower while I was drying my hair. Very minor but something that would make it a little easier for us women..

The pub is neat, clean and staff most welcoming. Room was well turned out and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic- the large portion exceeded expectations in both quality and quantity!! The log burner in the bar made it warm and cosy. We didn’t read the website properly so weren’t aware the kitchen was closed on Monday and Tuesday. Staff assisted with several local takeaway menus which we ordered from. When the food arrived plates and utensils were provided and we ate in comfort in the dining area.

The shower was warm in both the evening and morning. Ideally could have been hotter
