We absolutely loved our stay at The New Flying Inn! I booked it just the night before and still received a quick and detailed response the very next morning. From the start, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and suggest the best options for us. Our room was spotless and charming, with a cosy yet modern bathroom. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches – a kettle, a lovely tea selection, freshly ground coffee, and even a coffee maker. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and even though I usually struggle with sleep, I slept like a baby! Breakfast was absolutely delicious – generous portions, made to order, and packed with flavour. The inn itself had such a warm, atmospheric feel, and the food and wine in the restaurant were just excellent. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful – we were given great advice on local walking routes and even provided with a map. The owners were truly lovely and welcoming, making us feel right at home. I’ve already been recommending this place to fellow hikers on the trails – but let me say it here clearly: I strongly recommend staying at The New Flying Inn!

Friendly staff, food was excellent, plenty of parking and good location.
Room was a little tired, stains on the bedroom carpet and mould in places on the skirting board under the radiator in the bathroom. Also we had been allocated a particular table for dinner on the last evening (which happened to be my birthday) when we arrived in the bar someone else was on our table and we had to sit in the dining room on our own apart from a party of 6 at the other end of the dining room. Unfortunately there was no atmosphere and we may as well have been on our own. This was a huge disappointment and spoilt my birthday dinner.

Beautiful country inn in a quiet village, just a short drive from the M20. Ample parking to the rear of the inn. We stayed here twice whilst travelling from Europe to the north of England and back. Couldn't ask for a nicer welcome from the staff. For our 1st stay, we had a room in the inn itself, and for the 2nd, a room in the converted stable to the rear. Both times we were perfectly comfortable. Tea and freshly ground coffee are offered in the rooms, along with a welcoming chocolate marshmallow. Nice clean bathrooms with a good hot shower. The inn itself is lovely, very welcoming, and cosy with a nice log fire. Plenty of choices for draught beer and gin lovers. Excellent evening meal options on the menu. And equally delicious breakfast options in the morning, which can be perused whilst enjoying a complimentary croissant. Perfect. This is a gem of a place with wonderful staff, who were only too happy to cook a pre-ordered early breakfast for us, to give us time to make our ferry crossing from Dover to Calais. We really couldn't ask for more, and will definitely be staying here again on our future travels to the UK.
Leaving.

We received a lovely warm welcome as soon as we arrived, all, the staff we're so welcoming, who all definitely go the extra mile, who made our stay enjoyable. Very dog friendly,George our dog, loved all the attention. We would highly recommend The New Flying Horse Inn, we stayed in the stable block, for one night. Our room was spotlessly clean, and warm, the bed very comfortable and the bed linen beautiful, evening meal very good, great choice, and a wonderful breakfast to set us on our travels, we have booked to stay again in a few weeks.
nothing to dislike.

Great location in an attractive village and close to good dog walks. We were staying with our dog in one of the stable rooms; the room was well decorated and cosy, it had a small lobby space which was very useful for dealing with a wet dog. It also had easy access to a generous enclosed garden (which even had poo bins and spare poo bags). The pub itself was characterful and cosy, the food at diner and breakfast was excellent while also being reasonably priced. The best thing about our stay was the quality of the staff who were all very friendly and attentive to both us and our dog (dog treats and water bowls at both diner and breakfast!). We will definitely stay again.
Nothing!

Great staff, with nice touches such as a jug of fresh milk to go with your tea. Comfortable bedroom and a warm and relaxed ambience in the dining room. Dinner was excellent (Lamb pudding - who knew?) and we loved the range of wines by the glass at prices proportionate to the bottle price, which is unusual and very welcome. Breakfast was also very good. Interestingly there didn't seem to be any 'manager' in evidence; just a lot of young people eager to please and very efficient. We'll certainly be back the next time we have an early channel crossing.
We did have a problem with hot water, I think just to do with the number of baths being taken in the stables! Otherwise nothing.

We stayed in the stables and it was lovely. You can tell that a lot of Iove and care has been taken when designing the rooms. The decor is beautiful with quirky touches. The staff are incredibly accommodating and nothing was an issue and I’d say they went above and beyond for us, especially at breakfast with specific dietary requirements. We stayed with a small dog and you can tell that all the staff are dog lovers and if we felt welcome, our dog felt even more welcome. It’s the perfect get away as it’s secluded but also has everything you’d need. With a village shop just round the corner. Our only grumble is that we didn’t book a table for dinner, we popped in for a drink after our dinner reservation elsewhere and the regret followed when we saw the dinners coming past our table. Don’t make the same mistake when visiting!
The water in the room didn’t get the hottest. Wouldn’t stop us visiting again though.

The New Flying Horse was full of charm and character and especially cosy on a very chilly evening! Our room had some lovely personal touches - homemade fudge, measured coffee grounds for the cafetière and fresh milk. Our evening meal by the log burner was delicious. Thanks to George for making us feel so welcome. Our packed breakfast for our early start was such a thoughtful treat. Fresh croissants, orange juice and apples - all we added was a coffee in the morning. We are looking forward to returning at the end of our trip.

The rooms was very clean and well presented. However, my main compliment to this inn is how accommodating the staff are. I’m suffering from HG and so didn’t feel well enough to eat in the restaurant, but desperately needed to eat. They very kindly allowed my husband and I to order food from the restaurant and eat in our room. Even though I had been feeling unwell all day, the food was absolutely delicious (we had the vegan burger). Thankyou so much to the staff for helping us with this.
Unfortunately our room was almost over the kitchen and above the entrance to the inn which meant it was a little noisy in the evening.
