Many thanks to Adwait Adwait impressed us a lot, his profession and patience made me think that he is the manager there, however, he has been a part-time student working for around 4 months. He loves working in the Howfield because he shared with us a lot about Howfield when he guided us on the hotel tour. Really beautiful memories remind us always. I do recommend living here, we had a perfect stay, and it was enjoyable to start a perfect day with breakfast and scenery there. A young lady was quite sweet to serve us, I can always remember her smile and service. Best luck with your work and study in the UK, hoping still have a chance to hear about your success and happiness in Howfield.:D

We had an amazingly calm and peaceful stay at Howfield Manor during the Easter weekend. It is nicely located 2 miles away from Canterbury town. You can walk by a beautiful canal from the manor to the town. You also get a beautiful lake view from one side of the property. The manor itself is comfortably placed in the middle of huge land, providing you with ample space to walk around, lie in the grass or do some office work. The big double room we booked was quite standard. The morning breakfast is really good, and the staff are so warm and welcoming.

Repeat customer. Food as good as always. Room large and spacious. Good shower.

Bed needs addressing as creaking, hard and worn out mattress. Housekeeping kindly put an extra duvet under the bottom sheet to help us be comfortable. Pillows very flat. tap in bathroom needs fixing. Other rooms we have stayed in at Howfield Manor were much better and cheaper so slightly disappointing as we had splashed out to treat ourselves. It was a suite (room 8) but dated and noisy from the room below with a bright light shining straight into room from car park pole. Bedroom would be better with 2 singles linked together to add the luxury of large bed rather than the low mattress without a box base.

The Staff are very considerate and kind. The place is slightly bland in terms of decoration, but the bones of the building, and the ambience are good. The room was pleasant with a good aspect, the bathroom was adequate with a nice big bath. Breakfast was very good, great choice, although I hate making my own toast. Full English delicious. Grounds are impressive with some wonderful trees etc. Dinner Menu is traditional, but we only eat starters and dessert. Tasty and well presented. Scones and tea for us ,and Guests, were nice and freshly made.

Situated very close to Canterbury and all amenities so a great location. Double room size was good, clean and comfortable with ensuite and tea and coffee making facility. The food we had here was tasty and well presented with a good menu choice. We enjoyed afternoon tea, evening dinner and breakfast. The staff were professional, attentive and friendly.

Unfortunately the heating in the hotel was not on when we arrived early afternoon and it was a very cold day and I had to ask for our radiator in the room to be turned on so it took some time for the whole place to eventually warm up. This spoilt the ambience of afternoon tea for me and my friend as the hotel is open plan on the ground floor. However the rest of our stay was comfortable once the heating kicked in. The lighting in the bathroom is quite dim so this is not helpful to a female trying to apply make up and the water pressure in the sink is very low. Check out is 11am which is lovely however breakfast is only served until 9:15am which I feel is still quite early.

We very much appreciated that it was not a typical hotel room with white walls, white furniture and white linens. While it had the white linens, it had a canopy bed, a small sitting area, a desk, a fireplace and a full bathroom. The hallways are up and down and all around with small doorways. Oozing character and charm. Excellent dinner in the dinning room and the breakfast which we thought would be continental, from what we saw the night before, was that and order off the menu for no charge for hotel guests.

Short drive to Canterbury on a busy road. The hotel was off the busy road , so it was a quiet stay.

Enjoyed that breakfast was freshly cooked rather than a buffet with cooked items getting leathery. Staff were friendly and chatty, which I like. Bar was available, which we used. Parking was easy. Room was clean and comfortable. Old part of the building is beautiful, and setting and gardens very pleasant. We were able to eat breakfast in the garden on our first morning, which was lovely. Liked the fact that the hotel had the feel of an individual establishment, rather than a chain where everything looks the same. It felt like it was more family run (whether it is or not) and that was great.

Our room looked over the terrace, so a bit more noisy in the morning on a warm day when the windows were open. Breakfast room quite noisy the second morning. But can't really complain that there are other guests - it is a hotel, after all!

We had an excellent evening meal in their restaurant and then a hot cooked breakfast in the morning. The servers and staff couldn't have been nicer! All smiles and friendly faces! Our room was a bit small (but we knew it was going to be small when we booked it) but it was very clean, quiet and comfortable.

There was nothing not to like! The only thing that perhaps they could offer would be a late check out (it's at 11 which isn't bad, but 12 noon would have suited us better!) for a small additional fee. The paperwork stated that if we stayed later than 11 we would be charged a full additional day's stay!

First of all, the staff are some of the friendliest I've ever come across. Helpful, cheery and always there to answer any questions. The grounds of the manor are immaculately kept and would be perfect for any events or just a relaxing romantic getaway with a spouse (we did a walk around). The hotel restaurant was exceptional (big compliments to the chef) and I also enjoyed the continental breakfast with a pot of tea for one. There were a few guests about but I found the place relatively quiet and relaxed and had a good nights sleep.

This would have scored a perfect 10 if it weren't for the poor water pressure in the shower. It is an old building so it's understandable and perhaps travellers can run a bath instead. I managed to make do. Probably best you also have a car to access the hotel as it's a bit secluded (a good thing).

Fabulous old historic building, with several outdoor eating areas in gardens where we watched the rabbits and other wildlife. The staff were all friendly and helpful and even made us a cream tea, (which was the best I've ever had), outside of the kitchen hours. We had a large room with a comfortable bed & en-suite. There was ample parking, The price of our stay was excellent & the hotel is situated just a 5 minute easy drive to the Canterbury park & ride.

The floors were so creaky and loud I woke my wife each time I used the bathroom at night. Had to cross a gravel frontage from the car park to the hotel entrance, not easy dragging a wheeled suitcase, they should put in a paved pathway. I went to book a second stay for some weeks later and found the price had more than doubled. So I didn't book. It was quiet when we stayed but I'm not sure I would want to be there when they are hosting a wedding.
