We were greeted by a lovely friendly member of staff on arrival. We immediately knew we would be happy at this hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful sea view. A very pleasant surprise. The restaurant and bar areas are relaxed and enjoyable to use. The breakfasts were plentiful, with a good variety of choices. The fresh fruit was delicious. The restaurant and bar staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The evening meals were superb and we ate there 3 nights. A first class hotel. Thank you.
Everything was great 🙂

Lovely period hotel, clean, plenty of fresh towels provided. Pleased to find a fan had been provided as the days we stayed turned out to be very hot. Hairdryer, deposit box, teas & coffees all great. Toiletries provided. Friendly staff. 15 minute walk from the train station, 10 minute walk to the town. Nice walks from the hotel.
For such a nice hotel I was disappointed to find that the TV wasn’t a smart one (so no chance of Netflix, Prime, Disney etc) Very stingy with the toilet roll. 2 small rolls on the first day but when the room was cleaned 2 were not replaced. Had to buy my own. (I had asked the staff, to no avail) I understand it is an old building, but would really be great if the windows could be opened as the rooms are very hot.

Location is very special, we enjoyed early morning sea promenades. We could see France from the window of our bedroom. Room was clean and bed felt comfortable, we had a good night rest. There was enough wardrobe space for clothes and our overnight bags. They supply bottles of drinking water in the rooms, it was well appreciated. Breakfast cooked using quality ingredients, worse having it. Parking is limited, we were lucky to find a space close to hotel.
Bathroom is small, just ok for use by one person at a time. Parking is limited, and if you arrive around or after 6pm, expect to spend some time finding a space in the allocated area (reception has a map of the streets) it may be in 5-10 min walking distance from the hotel.

The friendly reception, the room with amazing views (although we did pay for this room) the flower petals and balloons on the bed for my daughter because it was her birthday were a lovely sweet surprise.
We were surprised that a bit of damp on the wallpaper has not been dealt with yet. Also, booking through Booking.com was a pain because the kind of rooms for pets was not clearly indicated so we ended up leaving our pet behind. In future, we will deal directly with the hotel so there is no confusion.

The location is super for a walk, the town or Le Shuttle. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but can get very hot. A fan was available. The breakfast buffet was very good. The receptioist was efficent and friendly.
At breakfast we were asked rather "directly" if we had REALLY booked the breakfast. Not just us, several others were also asked in this manner. None of us were "on the list". A while later we had an apology - it was the wrong list. Annoying and shows incompetence. The lift was out of order. The hotel is showing clear signs of wear: Cracks in the facade, odd plant growing from the masonry, a broken window over the door, shower doors at the base not well maintained.

The hotel is located on a cliff by the sea. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Lovely views. Coffee making facilities and bottled water provided. Breakfast good. Staff all very polite and helpful.
Parking on the streets nearby only and lucky dip to get a spot. We stayed there to get some sleep to break a long journey into Europe, but were unlucky enough to arrive when very loud music, maybe a local festival, was being played at a bandstand virtually right under our window. When that stopped, loud music possibly from the hotel bar directly beneath us played late into the night. The area towards the harbour is a bit run down, although the Ghurka restaurant we dined at was good.

The View's location was perfect for attending a show at the nearby Leas Cliff Hall. We had a room on the 4th floor with a view of the gardens and the sea. Our room was accessible by lift which was a great help as I have chronic arthritis. The room wasn't particularly large, but it was adequate for our needs. Our room was very clean, the ensuite well stocked with toiletries and thick fluffy towels. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. The reception staff were all kind, friendly and professional. There was lots of choice for breakfast, my husband enjoyed a full English breakfast, whilst I opted for croissants, we both had freshly brewed coffee which was excellent. I highly recommend The View Hotel, we will certainly choose to stay there again if we return to Kent for a few days.
Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Beautiful hotel in great location with lovely high ceilinged room and nice food and friendly staff. Wonderful sea view.
Too warm at night as no air con. Should have closed the curtains during the day to stop it getting too hot. Travel cot provided unsuitable as no mattress, just a folded duvet which is unsafe. Not full sized cot so own mattress didn’t fit so had to unload our own from the car which we were hoping not to do as we’re on our way to France.

described as a small room i did not think it was a small room. was a generous size with an even generous shower room. the window although partial sea view was a little on the small side. when i entered my room there was a musty smell which went when we left the window open. This is also a dog friendly hotel which i didnt pick up on when booking. overall i liked my stay. would i recommend yes. the location of the hotel is top tier too!
be mindful of parking. i was told parking will run out mid day the next day. But as we checked in late to then spend the day there it would not have been enough time. i was then told i can get an extended stay and she wont charge. which i thought was a lovely gesture. however, when leaving i thought id confirm this is the case-it was not! there was nothing on system to state this which would have led to me being fined! i was not happy at all. luckily a staff member pauline helped and added the parking. so when booking just be mindful you dont come back to a nasty surprise
