We were very pleased with our stay and Susan was a very attentive and kind host. The flexibility to have breakfast virtually anytime in the morning that we liked was fantastic and the room was clean and with all details we would expect to have. The breakfast was (full English) tasty everyday and we did not have to wait to be served. Our only gentle observation is that the low height fridge in the room, super handy as it was, made a humming noise that to one of us who is a relatively light sleeper felt a bit disruptive. Access to Netflix on the TV was not possible even though we think it was advertised as part of the package. Not that we needed it or see it as a downside but we think it worth providing feedback about it. Thank you. Roberto & Ana.

Amazing Canterbury experience made memorable by our stay at Carena House . Susan is a kind, generous lady who's effort to keep the B&B spot clean and looking after her guests is truly commendable. Hot breakfast with Susan's home baked bread is stellar. Her husband Andrew, a retired pilot took us over the kent county on his microlite aircraft which was thrilling and an experience by itself. We wish to return to Carena House for our Canterbury trips in the future and recommend staying here . The place is in a peaceful location and walking distance to town centre.

A nice cozy guesthouse where we were met by Susan when we arrived who made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and she sorted our breakfast for both days and was relaxed on the time we could arrive down . The mood and setting of the breakfast room made us very relaxed. The room was considerably quiet being on the road and we could come and go as we pleased. A very enjoyable stay all round.

It’s about a 20 minute walk into Canterbury but if you enjoy walking it’s ideal to walk off the lovely breakfast.

Susan was absolutely wonderful and very welcoming, ensuring a very pleasant stay. The shower in the economy bedroom was great, in respect to water pressure and heat! The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed 2 good nights sleep. I enjoyed a full English breakfast both mornings at my preferred time which was served on time with a cheery smile and very tasty. I liked the house rule to remove outdoor shoes on entry, it's not a big ask is it? LEAVE THE OUTSIDE WORLD BEHIND. If you are looking for absolute luxury then this is not for you. But the genuinely caring welcome meant more to me as a solo female traveller visiting my family close by. I will be revisiting Carena House in the very near future.

What's not to like?

Each morning I had a full English breakfast that was fabulous. The shower was small, but the water pressure and the temperature range more than made up for it. The room was spacious and the bed slept well. All in all, it was much better than I expected. To top it off, the hosts were fantastic.

The only downside to my stay was that the room was rather cold. I was cozy under the blanket and don't mind the cold much anyway, as I'm a winter person. but others might be more affected by it,

Andrew and Susan, were extremely helpful and welcoming. I booked the room for my aunt, who stayed there. She enjoyed her stay there. The room was clean, comfortable and checked daily. The only thing that could be improved, according to my aunt was the breakfast. She felt that there could have a better selection. I shall be going there with my partner sometime in October and will be able to give a more personal review.

Very friendly host who made me feel welcome and was interested to know of any preferences. My daughter was able to join for one night without extra as I would not make use of my last night or breakfast. Quiet warm room with comfortable bed and the room felt very clean. Very nice and generous breakfast adjusted to fit my preferences. If I go back to Canterbury I would stay here again.

Clean, clean, CLEAN! This is very important to me and my room was certainly spic and span. I was asked to remove my shoes at the door - great! I have no problem doing this as it keeps the carpets clean. The host was very friendly and chatty. I arrived quite sweaty and tired because I had to take a bus instead of the train. The host made me feel better right away. Breakfast was very nice and relaxing in a comfortable, front room with lovely relaxing music playing. The first day I didn't have breakfast at the B&B and I was recommended to try a place just down the street. It was fabulous, but a bit noisy, which is why I decided to have breakfast at the B&B the following day. I was not charged for the breakfast because I had an issue with my toilet and I think the host felt bad about that. She definitely tried her best to make her guests feel comfortable and cared for. I appreciated this very much.

The walk into town was far. The road was a long drag and very uninspiring. It looked like home... I wasn't impressed with the walk, although the next day I took a prettier walk that was suggested to me by my host. That was better, but I was nervous to do this walk at night when I returned, worried I might get lost. My only complaint is when I asked about directions and train times I didn't get a clear answer. A map definitely should be provided in the room to help with this. While the host was very friendly and kind, her directions were difficult to follow.

I had a great experience staying here and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The place was cozy and had everything I needed to fully relax, which was my only goal. Susan was a very welcoming host, and the breakfast she offered was delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay.

Susan is INCREDIBLE. She went above and beyond to support us and ensure we had a wonderful time. The venue was great, we got upgraded (to accomodate us!) and breakfast was incredible too. Susan even makes her own bread!

The property is most certainly best suited for people with an easy mode of transportation (it’s only 5mins by taxi/car from town centre).
