We rented a junior suite which is in a building 3 minutes walking distance from the main hotel building. There was a pool on the rooftop of our building which was nice. The main pool and breakfast room are in the main hotel building but we didn’t mind the little walk. The room was large, with nice furniture, a massive balcony, very clean, quiet. There is a small gym in this building too. The pool in the main building is large and very relaxing. We spent time there when the waves were too high. You only need to cross a small street to get from the main pool to the beach. There is a more crowded area od the beach and a less crowded one which we enjoyed with our own umbrella. None of the hotels in Canyamel have their own private beach. The hotel gives free beach towels. Breakfast was excellent and varied. Staff was welcoming and helpful.

It’s been a relaxing and stress free stay which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Service on a good level, friendly staff, nice interiors. Good variety of food, we enjoyed Show cooking options, freshly prepared meat, fish and seafood. Rooms are very comfortable with sunbeds on the terrace, nicely decorated.

We were dissappointed with the SPA area - too small for such amount of guests. There was no place dedicated to rest after sauna (all beds situated near the small pool were occupied) no water to hydrate yourself. Steam room is still out of order ( temporarily... but in fact at least since October 24'), similarly as a shower next to sauna. Not a relaxing place. In our room the toilet was separated from the rest of the bathroom with a glassdoor. It was very unforunate since it was hard to open it or close due to a small area of the toilet. It is also a dangerous solution - I cut my toe when I wanted to close it. The rooms are nice but we received a room that was situated on the first floor with a view on a street, a bar and an ugly place which reminded a not used parking place.

Excellent hotel, very well designed and considered. Lots of plug sockets in the bedroom (including USB), well equipped, well maintained. Bed was supremely comfortable. Excellent breakfast with plenty of staff to keep everything running smoothly. Nice spa

Not enough staff on duty in the bar area during the day meaning some wait for service at lunchtime and the afternoon. Had a massage which was ok but not amazing - did ask for more pressure but not sure she understood me

The breakfast buffet was amazing, and the alcoholic drinks were the best ones we had while in Canyamel. Facilities were beautiful and clean and location was very close to the beach and other activities.

The only thing I would say needs improving is the quality of the blow dryers! My hair does not look good when left to air dry, it needs to be blow dried, and the dryers were old and cheap, they had a lack of settings and they heavily fried the ends of my hair. As someone who traveled internationally, packing space was limited and I couldn’t bring my own dryer, so this was a little disappointing.

The location is perfect, beach is right away, rooms are clean and spacious. The food was good, mostly enjoyed it

Once my mom felt bad after the dinner in a hotel (before we only had breakfast, same in the hotel), a piece of watermelon tasted like it was spoiled. Obviously, my mom didn’t finish that piece but ate the other one. She was vomiting later that night. After I complained to administration desk, the answer was “It’s not possible, it’s not our fault” 😒

Staff were friendly and professional, double room was well appointed and nice view over the pool. Staff in dining room were excellent and food was very good for buffet, very good for identifying allergens and the show cooking provided some lovely choices for dinner. Great location to go to the beach for a dip in the sea and close for a scenic walk to the nearby caves. Small supermarket a minutes walk away.

Pool maintenance needs to be more regular, during the 5 days there I couldn’t see evidence of pool beds/floor being cleaned. Scum line on the pool needed cleaning as greasy from dirt and suncream. Tile broken on steps into main pool that I sliced my finger open on. The bubbles on the pool loungers all day is too noisy if relaxing around the pool, most people preferred them when the bubbles were turned off. Not a complaint but something to be aware of, the bathrooms in the double rooms are not separate from the room, shower and toilet are separated by frosted glass, so not great if sharing with someone you might want some privacy from.

Good location, beach is very close. The staff in the restaurant were really nice. Food is very good. Hotel is clean.

The breakfast menu doesn't have much variety. This is not 4 star breakfast. First time I saw breakfast without bananas, but pancakes and bread is good. Desserts at the dinner were not good, if you improve it, we will come back🙂

Beautiful hotel, great location and very friendly staff. We throughly enjoyed our time here, it’s located in a quiet town, perfect for relaxing, with a few good restaurants and shops around. The beach is just a minute away and the pool and spa were quite pleasant all day around. Breakfast it’s great, plenty of variety to choose from and dinner options change every evening. We highly recommend it if you want an hassle free and relaxing sunny break.

Wish there was Spanish music nights, it would make it feel more authentic and it would make it for a nice break from the English songs.

Lovely location, quiet & clean. Excellent pool area (with the additional pools for the suits to access). Food was exceptional. Reasonably priced wine and beer, lunch was the same. Rooms were roomy and modern, quiet and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The only possible fault I could think of was the coffee in the restaurant. Not the nicest coffee. But I had to think hard to find something negative.

It was clean and comfortable. Plenty of places to sit around the pool. Air conditioning in most places inside hotel and in bedrooms. Indoor pool was refreshing and cool, especially good for the fairer skinned members of the family. The beach was literally a 2 minute walk away and the sea was safe and warm to swim in and there were shady places to sit. The breakfast and dinner had very good selections and we were saved some dinner on our first day even though we arrived at 1am due to a delayed flight.

My husband struggled with the heat in the dining room in the evening but it was much better when they opened all the doors or when we had a table outside or came later. It was a long journey by bus from the airport but actually worth it to find a lovely peaceful civilised resort.
