Garlieston is just beautiful and has a lot of history to it, the Harbour Inn is the hub of the village for many people! The accommodation was excellent, very clean, tidy and everything in place perfectly. In our experience all the staff work hard and went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and were extremely attentive and helpful. The food is amazing, we had both evening meals and breakfast and neither disappointed us, definitely worth every penny. Pets are welcome which is great. I cannot wait until we get back to this little piece of heaven! Thank you for a wonderful stay. It may be a little bit out of the way for some but that appealed to us even more.

The Harbour Inn is a gem. Excellent location right by the water. Good walks along the coast from the inn. Interesting local history. Unexpectedly large room with a really comfortable bed and big en-suite. Free wifi without any data harvesting nonsense. The staff are lovely, the food excellent, and the beer well kept with a nice atmosphere in the bar. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Whilst you need a car to enjoy the extent of the area, this was a perfect place for an overnight stay. We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant. The staff were really friendly.Luckily the weather was great so we enjoyed a drink in the beer garden before heading to the comfortable, spacious room.Breakfast was amazing and again the staff made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable.

Loved the bar with big roaring fire. Staff were very friendly. Bedroom very good with a great view, comfortable bed. Dinner was great as was the breakfast.

What I didn't like was wakening up in the morning without any central heating (did have small heater) or hot water. The room was freezing as was the bathroom. Contacted staff who phoned owner. Had to get dressed without showering and get out of room to get a heat. These things happen, could of accepted it okay if the owner would have spoken to us, didn't get call or visit us before we left. Doesn't seem to care for his/her customers. We were going to book for next month because we really liked the hotel but not now. The owner is lucky they have fantastic staff.

We really enjoyed the Harbour Inn. The location was superb, the staff friendly and helpuful and the food excellent. The room had great views on two sides and the beds were comfy. The bathroom looked a little jaded but the rest of the hotel had been refurbished and looked great. The pub was lovely with a great vibe. We also thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal in the restaurant. Overall a lovely hotel with lots of charchter and in a wonderful location.

What a lovely place! The Staff were so friendly and welcoming! We had a meal in the restaurant which was really tasty followed by drinks in the bar. We got chatting to the locals and even sat with the owner for a few hours, Harry thank you so much for a wonderful night! Our room was really comfortable, plenty of space and doggy friendly which is super helpful! Our room overlooked the harbour and was a lovely view to wake up to. Full Scottish breakfast in the morning set us up for the day. We look forward to coming back!

The room was comfortable, well decorated and clean. It had a lovely view as promised. It was very hot and so we had all the windows wide open so at a pub it's not reasonable to expect a quiet evening with so many people about outside but after hours it quietened down and was good.

The breakfast person was not particularly happy.

One of our party is vegan and another lactose intolerant. I had contacted the Harbour Inn beforehand to ask for an alternative milk. Not only did they provide this, when we came down to breakfast the chef had written out a separate list for each of them, showing what was suitable (she even came in to apologise because she had left the vegan sausages off the dairy free list!). Little touches like that mean a lot. My breakfast was excellent as well.

The breakfast haggis. We had four meals at the Inn, all of them excellent. The haggis at breakfast was cooked in a way I found rather strange but it was still very tasty, so I can't really say I didn't like it.

It’s very quaint, very friendly, the room was comfortable with a wonderful view over the bay, the pub was a proper old fashioned village pub, nice atmosphere, open fire and local ales. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, even made us a packed lunch for our journey home as we left very early. Very dog friendly also.

Breakfast starts at 09:00 which was. Bit late for us, but if you let them know in advance, they will accommodate you earlier.

Great location and excellent rooms. The pub was a good place to spend time in the afternoon and evening. So nice to wake up with a sea view.

There was a bit of confusion from the booking.com side to the inn about the price for a twin room. It was still good value and the best place we stayed on our trip to south west Scotland.
