The Art Bank is hands down the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. I requested a late check in and arrived even later than planned and Ange was very welcoming and showed me around. The room was very spacious, had clothes hanging space and the facilities in the room were exceptional - bottled water, hot chocolate and treats were a lovely touch. The breakfast was amazing and the layout of the dining room was unbelievable. The team at the Art bank are outstanding and I will definitely be returning. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe in this accommodation.

The decor is striking as are the canvases and painting plus numerous figereens adorned around the property. Smart TV comfortable bed and wonderfully decorated bedroom. The shared bathroom was a work of art and very tasteful. Breakfast was superb not only great products use but beautifully prepared and plated to perfection by chef. I can't rate the breakfast higher it really was 11 out of 10. I had 3 and no room for lunch on those days evening meal at 7.30ish as not hungry at all from 8.30am
The person sharing the bathroom wasn't as conscientious as me as keeping it clean and tidy and leaving it as it was found. But not the properties fault that.

This place is amazing. On arrival we were offered an additional double room at no extra cost as it was currently empty for the evening. This provided our family with the entire top floor. We were able spread out ad really relax with kids in a separate room. The beautiful decor, paintings, cushions, lamps and crockery gave a boutique hotel atmosphere to the rooms which were so personalised and luxurious. The kids loved the hot chocolate, Tunnock's tea cakes and Borders biscuits, whilst I enjoyed a roll top bubble bath using the locally sourced sample products. We just couldn't believe the value for money. And this was before we tried the breakfast! Cereal, fresh fruits, porridge, full Scottish, juice, endless tea and coffee all served on stunning blue ceramics.
We couldn't improve anything about this place. We were unable to explore the local area as it was pouring with rain, however, we were very happy to stay in our lovely room for the evening and relax as this was just a pit stop for us on the way home from a family camping holiday.

The Art Bank is mesmerising, eclectic and so welcoming. Every single part is decorated with such thought and good taste. The owner Mandy is an amazing woman who knows how to be a hostess. The staff are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble and nothing has been scrimped on. We absolutely loved the place. Breakfast is the best we have ever had and it's a banquet of exquisite deliciousness. Then just when you think it can't get any better, you find out that your doggies are catered for to the same high standard as the humans. I can't recommend enough. Thank you so so much.
Leaving.

Everything was perfect, Mandy and Ange were amazing, the breakfast was the best we have ever had in a B@B or hotel. We stayed in the Van Gough room, which was beautiful. There was a good selection on the tray, there was plenty of bottles of water, and biscuits. The toiletries were provided. We brought our dog, and she was spoilt rotten by Mandy and Ange, lots of belly rubs and treats.

We stayed in the Picasso room on the top floor and it was lovely! There was a cute little window seat, and even a microwave, fridge, tea, coffee hot chocolate and biscuits etc . Cutlery and crockery were also provided which was a nice touch and unusual for a B&B! Breakfasts were really good, lots of options including lovely fresh fruit.
Didn't realise the bathroom was shared with the other room on the top level. We never saw the other guest and the bathroom was always clean, and there was never any issues with access.

The B&B is centrally located in the high street, very convenient for the nearby King's Arms (excellent food) but also, no problem parking. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by Mandy, including our small dog - the pet pack was appreciated. Our room was on the first floor, very clean and a good size with satellite TV. The breakfast is really quite extraordinary, you will not want for variety or quantity. Alison is an excellent chef and if you have the cooked breakfast in it's entirety, you're unlikely to need to eat again that day 😀 Dalbeattie we really liked, it may not be the Royal Mile but it's a proper non-touristy little town which was what we wanted. There's a good variety of take-aways as well as a couple of pubs and a Co-op just a few yards away. You're well placed for exploring the area and it's a nice ride up to Ayr, for example. We hope the B&B does well, Mandy's life story and her commitment to animal welfare are really quite inspiring. Look forward to returning some day.
On the first night, our room was quite cold. We spoke to Mandy and it was soon resolved, she provided us with an electric heater that was more than powerful enough to keep us cosy the rest of our stay.

So much - great interesting spacious room so well equipped - tea/Tunnock biccies!/bottled water - doggie bowl/blanket/towel - very comfortable bed So welcoming and very relaxed and comfortable Breakfast - way beyond anything I have ever experienced in a b+b or a hotel for that matter Also special mention for Dalbeattie - people we met in the pub and the local hotel were so very friendly Excellent access to the whole of the Solway Coast, Castle Douglas/Kirkcubright,
Shared bathroom but necessary in an old building that has been converted to provide a home and 3 guest bedrooms - there is an en suite option as well but I missed that Dalbeattie itself is not that exciting with limited eating out options but a nice town and very friendly A great location to base yourself to explore further
