The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the hot tub in our room was fabulous. We had half board and the breakfast and dinners were great. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach too so went to watch the sunrise a couple of times. The pool area had a lot of areas to sit so we were able to find sunloungers in the sun or shade every day. There are supermarkets, a number of restaurants and pharmacies all within walking distance of the hotel. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel with buses every 15 mins to Heraklion centre. The hop on hop off bus also stops near Amoudara beach.

We wanted to have lunch at the hotel one day but it wasn't available. Everything else was great.

The hotel was exceptional it had all the necessities and more. The staff were absolutely amazing and very accommodating from the minute we checked at reception to the day we left they constantly checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed and always served us with a smile. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone. The breakfast and dinners were Devine I would recommend when booking a room include the breakfast and dinner. Breakfast catered for all and plentiful, the dinner was a 5 course degustation every night and the menu was changed daily such a delight and very delicious. Beach was less than 5 min walk and very nice to swim in. Bus stop out the front so easy to get into heart of the city.

The room was big. The swimming pool was a good size.

So close to the road and noisy. All the photos showed a lovely private pool which I thought was our hot tub, as we had an executive room. I was so disappointed that we had a small hot tub that took up the whole of the outside space and we had to pull the lid on and off all the time. We couldn’t sit out at all. The swimming pool also was dangerous to get in and out off. I went to the shallow end and there were no steps or handrail. I slipped as I stepped down and ended up going on my backside. When I got out using the only ladder in the deep end it wasn’t attached properly and was leaning towards the pool, so was hard for me to get out.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming, making our experience even better. We booked the jacuzzi room, which was perfect for the March weather—so relaxing! The location is great, with a bus stop right in front of the hotel, making it super easy to get around, even late at night. The beach is just a 5-minute walk away, and Amoudara Beach was lovely. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with plenty of open space. Private parking is also available. Breakfast was great, and we also had dinner at the hotel—highly recommend signing up for it! The chef takes dietary preferences into account, and the food was amazing. One of the highlights for us was how pet-friendly the hotel is. We traveled with our puppy, and the staff was so loving towards him. He had plenty of space to play, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and can only recommend staying here!

Coukd not have enjoyed the stay at Malena more - Loved the rooms, I had the executive suite which had a balcony and a private Jacuzzi. Spacipus rooms, the beds were very comfortable, flatscreen TV was great and had Netflix loaded on it. Jacuzzi was on 24/7 and was so lovely to dip into day or night. The breakfast was always lovely, fresh orange juice machine, lovely freshly made granola, Greek honey, spanikopita (spinach & feta pie) loads of freshly baked breads and spreads. (General stuff like omelettes, sausages, bacon there every morning too) If you want to up your experience - get a room with a balcony, watching the sun rise and set from the hotel was very peaceful and a beautiful unexpected addition. The pool was very nice, really clean - very cold in November but that's to be expected.* Restaurant has several great options for dinner, lovely staff in all areas (reception, restaurant, bar, cleaners). 50 metres away there is a huge supermarket with all foods, drinks, snacks you could want. Bits of clothing and toiletries as well if any are needed. Across the road from the hotel entrance there's a nice cafe - a great bakery less than 2 minutes stroll. 2 or 3 decent restaurants beside the hotel. There is also a pharmacy 30 metres from hotel if you need anything. The food delivery app Wolt is fantastic if you're looking for any kind of dinner delivered. Il Pazzo - Pizzeria in Heraklion centre delivers to the hotel - beat pizza on the island* If you're a solo female traveller - when out and about - only get in taxis that have a YELLOW reg plate. But any taxi man that the hotel organizes for you is vetted and safe.* Everywhere I explored on crete takes debit card - which is really handy* whether its the market stalls in Heraklion, taxis, supermarkets, olive oil tours / experiences around the island. Authentic cooking class in Chania was well worth the day trip also.

Some little spiders can occasionally make their way into the rooms - but this happens everywhere on the island it's not hotel specific.* The room i had was fairly soundproof to general noise - but for a 4 night period, the room next to mine was maybe louder than the average guest, and that sound really travelled. But this could well have been guests just being very loud.*

Very nice apartment with a small terrace. Enjoyed the heated Jacuzzi as the water temperature was easily regulated and it was very pleasurable even the outside temperatures were already around +15 (on November evenings). Location is great if you have a car (free parking available on site), but there is also a bus stop right in front of the suites complex - so it is very easy to go to town and back using public transport. Breakfast of decent quality is served in a very nice and bright room with a view of a large swimming pool, and we especially loved the device allowing us making a freshly squeezed orange juice on our own.

On arrival we were greeted by à charming and efficient receptionist. She understood our needs and was happy to help with à smile. Our room was large and spotless. Really wonderful. The on premisses parking for our car was near to the hôtel building. The hôtel rooms was surounded by à nice lawn and the swimming pool is gorgeous. All of it spotless. The buffet breakfast was plentyful with large sélection of items eaten in sunny spotless well equipped Breakfast room.

The bed sheets were too short on the beds. It s à shame as besides that, the beds were confortable.

Beautifully presented hotel and quiet and peaceful being adult only. We had an executive jacuzzi room with a lovely big balcony which really made the stay. Having our own jacuzzi was a real luxury and the rooms were well laid out so it felt relatively private. The water in the jacuzzi is changed daily so no worries re-cleanliness. Our room was large and well furnished with good double glazing as there is some noise from the main road. Very pleasant lounging around the pool too on the double cabanas and most of the time the music was at a good low level adding atmosphere but not too intrusive. Breakfast was good with a nice variety of and pleasant dinning room. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. It was so relaxing here that we gave up on our venturing further afield and just chilled here for 2 days.

Having a painful knee the ladder into the pool was not easy to use and felt insecure. Some better, gentler means of getting into the pool would be helpful.

The suits setup and a move away from just regular rooms was quite interesting and we liked it very much. You can enjoy more space and how the property is arranged creates a bit of a resort feel. The pool was never too crowded and you could always find a spot. What was also a bit different was the set menu dinner when you opt for half-board. It can be a bit of a hit and miss but I found the courses delicious and original and only skipped one course during the entire stay due to pure preference. Would definitely recommend the hotel !!

We found quite a few mosquitoes in the suit and, after investing 30 minutes in making sure we got all of them, we stayed with all the windows closed and AC on for the rest of the stay. Definitely not a big deal but would be much easier if windows had the insect nets on the outside.

Had a bungalow with private pool. Quite a lot of space. Pool size was as expected. Daybed really comfortable. The dinner was nice and you always got enough to eat. Really, really nice staff - always friendly and helpful. Big supermarket close to the hotel. Bus station and daytrip pickup (Get your Guide) only across the street. When checking in you get asked about any allergies so they prepare special dishes for dinner.

The breakfast was a little disappointing, because when it is crowded you really have to wait for the toaster to roast the bread. The orange juice machine sometimes was out of oranges. Drinks at dinner always had to be paid that night - not via final invoice at the end of your stay. The area really isn't that nice, but we didn't took a walk to the beach at all as we had a private pool. BUT: Our pool privacy was a little low, as it was right on a kind of driveway to the parking. Little higher walls or plants on the brickwall would have made us feel more private.
