The location of the hotel could not have been more perfect for my boyfriend and I. We walked to Moxy from the Amtrak station (about 10 minutes) and were able to drop our bags off at the hotel for free. There was an 'early check-in' option for $50 additional, which we opted for. I had mentioned a preference to have a room on a high level overlooking the city and the hotel delivered! Our view was stunning! The street noise was not an issue for us and you really couldn't hear other neighboring guests in the hotel, from our experience. You can easily walk to the subway from the hotel (about 5 minutes) and there are plenty of convenience stores nearby if you need to grab something quick. We found some lovely restaurants and bars that we frequented and enjoyed. Nearby attractions also walkable from the hotel were Chelsea Market, Chelsea Flea, the Empire State Building, and Bryant Park. The café in the hotel was convenient and we each had yummy croissants and coffee. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the rooftop cocktail bar but it seemed popular.

Really the only thing I was sad about was that there was no coffee machine in the room. This was not a deal breaker for us but definitely something I would have preferred to have! Also, it is a tall building so expect to wait on the elevators! At peak hours we waited as long as 5-10 minutes for an elevator to arrive. This wasn't a problem for us, but if you're in a rush to catch an Uber or a reservation I can see how this would be inconvenient.

Great location. Great value (for nyc). Amazing staff.

Worst lift system I’ve ever experienced. Be prepared to waste huge chunks of your day waiting with crowds of guests for a lift. They’re 4 lifts but the staff will always enter and exit in the middle of your journey. Adding to your delay. Every time. The buttons are barely visible. The card reader rarely works. The qty of lifts has no reflection on the time you’ll wait for 1. It’ll then stop at most floors picking up other frustrated guests and the obligatory staff members who seem to live in the lift system. Mind numbing. Really ruins the experience of staying here.

Linens were nice (I may get them for my home), decor was fine, new, bed was very nice, value was good, location was central to my intended visitations.

Room was very small, no place to put clothes, keeping suitcases open made it tough to walk around easily, sink not in water closet is not great, too small for 2 ppl, parroted to me by a couple outside as I questioned them when I came to property. Also, guy at the desk on my checkout annoyed me with your $30 resort usage policy, said I could NOT use the $30 in the night and in the morning?! What is THAT? Why should it matter when I use my credit, esp if I'm only there till 11am. AND, the hotel software didn't properly treat my charge from the 1st floor restaurant from the first night, I had to catch the mistake and get them to credit the $23, so there were 2 issues on the bill.

It was a comfortable mid-range priced hotel with a nice flower aesthetic theme. It had a nice modern touch to it with moody lighting with a rooftop bar as well. The rooms were clean and compact, and surprisingly had a decent amount of room. Staff were friendly and helpful as well. Atleast the type of room I was in was perfect for a solo traveler looking to explore NYC.

My hotel room could have used a better table/desk and also a small chair. A mini fridge would have been preferred too. The hooks on the wall were astheticly pleasing and convenient, but some felt a little out of place. If you were to put only clothes you would block the TV and wall desk.

Everything was great! The room was exactly the one I had asked for prior to our trip and the hotel staff had gone above and beyond to decorate it accordingly with rose petals and candles, because I had informed them that the trip was our honeymoon. The room was spotless clean when we arrived, with truly great views, very convenient location! An erroneous charge was made upon our check out that was meant for another room, however, I spotted and it was amended with no fuss from the hotel staff, which was great.

Overall I would definitely visit again, the only negative - if I had to say one- was that a couple of times, even though staff had evidently visited the room to make the bed, the floor appeared tο not have been cleaned.

We had a great stay at Moxy Chelsea! The hotel is modern, stylish, and full of young, vibrant energy, perfect for a city trip. We requested a City View room facing the Empire State Building and got exactly that. Upon check-in, we received drink vouchers that we could use at the lobby bar, and one night we went up to the rooftop Fleur Room, amazing views and great music, definitely worth it! The staff was helpful: they held a package we had delivered from Europe a week before arrival, and everything was there waiting for us. We also asked for a kettle in the room (as it's not standard), and they happily brought one up. The location is excellent, most major sights are within walking distance. It’s a busy, energetic neighborhood with a lot going on around. If you're looking to relax or unwind in peace and quiet, this probably isn’t the hotel for you.

The rooms are small (welcome to Manhattan), and there’s little storage space, clothes go on wall hooks, and suitcases stay open on the floor, so things get a bit chaotic after a few days. The lobby is minimal and tucked upstairs, so it doesn’t offer that classic hotel “welcome home” feel after a long day out.

Central location, great view of Empire State Building (but see bad points below!), comfortable bed, decent shower, balloons and free drinks to celebrate my birthday - thank you. Luggage storage was helpful. Didn’t try rooftop bar as we found other places to go to, but we could hear it from our room on 26th floor!

View out of window was obscured by dirt on outside of window. Sofa wasn’t very comfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Lift buttons hard to make out in the gloom. Adjacent coffee shop had surly staff serving weak coffee and was expensive even when included in hotel’s rip-off “destination fee”.

The staff was great and the room super comfortable. The design and layout of the room was smart and functional as well as pleasing to the eye.

Although It says "roof top bar" , I equated that with normal bar noise, not a full thumping sound system of night club. The first night was SO loud, it felt like the party was inside my room. It was crazy loud till 1:00. I talked to someone the next day and he was fantastic, said he talked to the bar about keeping the volume down and that night it was completely silent. He also offered to move us to another room at no charge if we were wanting that. As it was now the weekend, we took him up on that which was wonderful. We were moved from the 33rd floor to the 19th. Friday night was quiet and then Saturday night was audile again. Not the same level of noise at all, but I was mystified that being so many floors from the action, I could still hear it faintly.

The 28th Street is located in NY's "flower district", the hotel and the whole street welcomes you with lovely flowers upon arrival. The view was my no. 1 criteria to chose the hotel and the room type, and it did not disappoint: even had stunning sunsets from my room, overlocking the city from floor 28th. Bed was super comfy, overall room the room is okay too. Food was tasty, room service tried and tested too: food was delivered quickly and in good quality, surprisingly big portions. 2nd floor bar design is great! Stuff is nice and helpful.

Didn't get a chance to try the rooftop bar, I was disappointed to understand upon arrival that they are shall be closed from my 2 nights' stay - from Sunday to Tuesday. Room shower is dripping under the floor: not visible at first and house keeping does it's best to manage it, but after showering water was popping up from underneath the room floor around the shower.

We were given a room with a city view on the 29th floor, which was nice. The room was clean, and the shower was hot with good water pressure. The location was a short walk to the 28th Street Metro station and was also walkable to nearby restaurants and shopping. The hotel has a cafe attached to the lobby which we only utilized on our last day, but is nice for grabbing a coffee and pastry or sandwich.

The room with two full-size beds was small, with only walking space around the beds. We found the beds and pillows to be uncomfortable. There is no closet, only hangers on pegs on the wall with the TV. There is also no dresser, but each bed has a drawer and a few shelves underneath. The bedside table between the beds is small and barely holds a phone. There are no toiletry products in the bathroom, only body wash/shampoo and conditioner.
