My wife & I really enjoy Chilworth Manor. We have now stayed there 3 times in the past 15 mths. The staff are friendly & helpful, Christina in the dining room excels at her work, in fact every member of staff we interacted with was helpful. However, there were 2 issues that we wanted to highlight, In highlighting these, we trust future guests to Room 1 will not have these issues to content with. 1 - Air-conditioning unit outside bedroom window of Room 1. We stayed for 10 nights, Thursday 22/23, being our last night. For the first 7 nights, we had good nights sleep for the remaining 3 this air-conditioning unit continued to emit a loud droning sound throughout the night. We did mention this to reception the following morning, but nothing was done to remedy this situation. We are not the complaining type, so we left it, therefore enduring poor quality sleep for the remaining 2 nights. This was very disappointing. My wife is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and this was our first break away since September 2024. 2 - The hot water situation in Room 1 is very poor. Despite running the hot sink tap for several minutes their was little or no hot water. Despite the above issue, our experience of staying at Chilworth Manor remains a positive one.

Staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The hotel and grounds were extensive and beautiful. My friend and I each had a gorgeous room with good facilities, mine was a shower over bath, my friend's was a walk in wetroom. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. The price for our stay was reasonable. Breakfast could be prebooked or paid up front, allowing for flexibility. The nearby pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room facilities were a welcome way to unwind. The location was within walking distance of a local pub and a short drive from Southampton city centre. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway. We will definitely visit again.

Beautiful building and extensive grounds, staff absolutely brilliant haven't had such good service in ages! Room very comfortable had everything that we needed (bed extremely comfortable). Booked B&B breakfast was buffet style and perfect. We decided to make a reservation for evening meal and were not disappointed good menu's and extremely large portions well cooked and beautifully served by the waiting staff. Our cruise embarkation was moved on an hour and so we paid extra for a late 1pm check out. Would stay here again.

Breakfast & array of choice was superb, compliments to all staff, property has real country house character, for what is a 3* mid-range price bracket it definitely exceeds expectations. Gorgeous setting, lovely long driveway (saw a baby deer 🦌) into a secluded feel country manor estate, beautiful grounds & Chilworth conservation area behind hotel is wonderful for escapism & a peaceful stroll. Use of gym & pool included complimentary. Cosy & classy central bar a nice place to chill after a day exploring the nearby New Forest or for a further social after on-site conference or team-bonding facilities which looked plentiful. Highly recommended, a country house style stay at a very reasonable price.

It is a beautiful location and the hotel is lovely. We went to see a show at The Mayflower theatre in Southampton and you are about 10 - 15 minutes away by taxi depending on traffic. The cost of a taxi was more than I expected. We had breakfast included in the price and we arrived at 10am - I think they had underestimated demand and some things were filled up, but they’d run completely out of other things and it took a bit of time for the hot food to be replaced - but not everything was refilled which was disappointing. That said the food was good and it was hot. Lots of options (not all available), but still plenty and we weren’t rushed so that was nice. The pool and hot tub are in a separate building - I was a bit surprised it wasn’t part of the hotel - we enjoyed the hot tub, but the pool wasn’t very warm. Very easy access and they provide towels which is helpful. Plus not busy even on a Saturday morning. The bar was pleasant and prices were ok. There is no lift (that I saw) and getting to the room involved a lot of stairs - if you had a lot of bags or mobility issues it would have been a problem. I went to reception a couple of times and no one was there - completely empty. I thought for this type of hotel that wasn’t good. But the staff were friendly and helpful - not a generous amount of tea, coffee or milk in the room, but more than happy to provide more when asked. Parking is good, the grounds are beautiful and the room was clean and a good size - the bathroom was one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel - I would stay again, given everything you get it’s good value for money.

Very comfortable, well-equipped room. Exceptional breakfast. Very friendly and attentive staff at breakfast. Charming property in a lovely location.

No response to MORE THAN A DOZEN attempts to contact the hotel by telephone in the days before my stay. The receptionist was dismissive about this, telling me answering the phone was not a priority. (???!!!???) No response either to an email sent to the hotel website, asking them to call me. I was asked for a £25 damage deposit at check-in. More than 24 hours after check-out this has not been refunded, although I left the room in perfectly good order.

The staff are all extremely nice and I have to give a special mention to Sara, the leisure centre receptionist. The pool is a very short walk from the hotel but not well signposted. On the way back, in the cold and dark I got lost and walked in a full circle back to the leisure centre! Sara kindly walked me back to the hotel.

We have stayed here three times in the past (with our dog) and always been happy with the standard of the room. On this occasion however the room seemed smaller and the furnishing a touch shabby. Some clearer sign posting to the pool/leisure centre would be helpful.

Beautiful hotel, fab grounds, huge room (deluxe double) with bath and shower, desk, table and chairs, TV, coffee machine and robes and slippers! It was very peaceful, only sound was some people leaving in a coach around midnight. We only stayed one night but it was very comfortable. We used the pool and steam room, which were lovely and not busy. The bar was nice and we had a sandwich which was OK. Friendly staff and would definitely stay again and recommend. About 25 mins drive to the town centre.

Only slight downside was the sandwich!

Lovely hotel with very fast and easy check in, the bar and lounge area was very relaxing and friendly with fare priced drinks. Our room was was spotless with a lovely bathroom and a massive bed with views over the front lawn, following morning was very relaxing as check out is not untill 11am, the breakfast was probably one of the best we have had with everything being very fresh and hot and cooked really well.

The only issue w had was the plumbing in the bathroom as i guess it's very old, we had a constant dripping type sound followed by some sort of echo that lasted all night keeping us awake probably every 15 minutes, we were going to report it at check out but the reception was unmaned when we left.

Stayed three nights. Lovely hotel with friendly staff. The location was great for us, we even booked 2 more nights the following week.

On our first morning the breakfast experience was awful. It was a Sunday, the hotel was full, it was obvious there wasn't enough staff on to cope with the number of residents. To be fair, the staff who were there were excellent. We were having to wait for something at every stage of our breakfast (food, utensils, etc) We would have preferred tea/coffee & even toast to be served to the table as there's a lot of tooing & frowing resulting in parts of the breakfast getting cold. As we were leaving the dining room on the first morning we heard someone ask for a pot of tea, needless to say we done the same on our next 2 mornings which helped a lot
