The location suited us perfectly for where we were going to be visiting during our stay. The room was perfectly adequate for our needs, and very clean as was the bathroom. Good supply of toiletries. The staff, without exception, from reception, to the breakfast staff were all happy, friendly and extremely helpful. One of the housekeepers (she may have been a manager) was particularly helpful and went out of her way to provide us with various items, such as top sheets for all the beds (it was too warm to use the duvets), and plenty extra supplies of coffee and milk. The staff are a real credit to the hotel and all so happy and helpful. Some nice pub restaurants nearby.

There is no air conditioning in the hotel bedrooms, which for the UK is not normally a problem :) but during our stay it was incredibly hot weather. There were two fans in each bedroom which did help a little. The reception and restaurant areas are air conditioned which was most welcome! A little noisy at night if you are on the same side as the motorway....my daughter's room was on the opposite side overlooking the front of the hotel, and much quieter.

Staff were absolutely incredible, They went above and beyond to help us as a family. We booked the hotel due to it's location to the hospital as our mum was admitted as an emergency due to having a stroke while visiting from Durham. We stayed for a week, the food was delicious. Especially the breakfast. Rooms were sparkling clean. What really shone through was the kindness from all of the staff that work at the hotel. They are a credit to the company. Especially Greg.

There is absolutely nothing at all that I could possibly complain about. Other than some really grumpy and ungrateful and very rude guests that spoke to the staff unkindly, even when they bent over backwards to help them.

Good price - friendly staff - large room with extra large bed. Gluten free cereal and toast available.

Being coeliac and needing a gluten free diet really disappointed to have tomato (G. F.) next to hash browns ( not G. F.) and people sharing tongs between both. Also sausages (not G. F.) actually sharing tongs with bacon (G. F) thus causing cross contamination so nothing could be eaten!!!! When asked why sausages could not be put next to hash browns keeping gluten free and non gluten free together was told that vegetarians would complain if meat was next to hash browns. Seriously??? Being a vegetarian is a choice - coeliac disease is not - its an illness 😢

I was really impressed with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very apologetic when there was a minor issue with our room, immediately sorting it out for us by finding us another room and giving us some vouchers for complimentary drinks/snacks to apologise for the inconvenience. The breakfast was excellent with good choice and tasty food and nice hot drinks. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. It was also quiet.

It's hard to think of anything that I didn't like! The only (very unimportant) thing I can think of is that the apple juice at breakfast tasted quite watery. But that's a minor quibble when everything else was so great. We'd definitely like to come back.

I must commend all the staff for their welcoming and we can do attitude over our Christmas stay. They were happy and maintained I can help attitude especially as I witness some very awkward customers in the period I stayed. Some of these people should work a day in the hospitality section.. maybe they appreciate it more then. Again my stay was excellent and will always be my first port of call in Southampton..

Nice room and bathroom, very comfortable bed and quilt.

It is a shame there is no ventilation in the bathroom or air conditioning. We appreciated the 2 fans supplied, but A/C should be expected in a room in the 21st century. Breakfast offer is reasonable but the sausages and bacon are very poor quality. White Coffee from the machine tastes very sweet, which I think is down to powdered milk being used. Toby inns offer a similar breakfast for nearly half the price, and still manage to use better quality ingredients and offer more items.

The property was well located just off the motorway! We checked in super late but there was someone on reception who was very friendly! Our room was already set up with a cot bed as requested and we got extra duvets for comfort! Breakfast was nice, quality coffee and hot food. Wish there were a few more healthy hot foot options but otherwise it was tasty. Check out was smooth and plenty of space in the car park.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, I could hear and feel the springs in the mattress. The shower would also go from scorching hot to freezing cold periodically. These were minor issues and didn’t negatively impact my stay in the long run

Staff were absolutely lovely. Comfortable sleep For a 3 star the facilities were good.

You can tell the cleaners gave a good clean as they can, but a lot of the furniture was stained. My room didn't smell that fresh upon entry. The chairs in the dining area stained as well as the couch in my room. It's a shame, because the couch was a nice addition to the room. They really need to update the furniture. Views: surrounded by building works. I was staying overnight so I guess it wouldn't affect me so much. Distance to centre: close by car. I was driving so I could get quicker access to the centre, it would be a bit far to walk otherwise. I wouldn't feel safe as woman to get back late to the hotel as the nights are getting darker. And the hotel was off the dual carriageway

I love the staff there they are so nice, kind, welcoming and professional with a bit of funny as extra. The area used to be nice but is losing it's appeal due to the new trade park. But inside is always clean and tidy and the rooms are well kept and cleaned.

Our neighbour room was intent to be obtuse and rude. Constant slamming of all doors throughout the hotel even after being told by staff a number of times to please stop and that they are not the only people there at that time. The same neighbour leaving used nappies in the hallway on a super hot day 26-28°c so we can all partake in our choice for them to have children.

For our visit to relatives in Totton ideal easy to get to site. Staff excellent, helpful and knowledgeable. The room was tidy and clean as we wanted it, eg there for 5 days didn't want bed/towel exchanges everyday - won't be like that at home! Easy access to extra coffee/tea making packs.

We felt this site is mainly for early risers such as workmen and people catching a cruise. Parking sometimes found it difficult when lorries and large vans parked using several bays. Also in heavy rain car park floods reducing the number of parking bays usable without waders. (Appears Southampton trying to topple Manchester for rain during our stay) Room - had problems at first with toilet flush not working but told method for success - disappointing to need this - sure children could use flush. Our bed was uncomfortable causing my wife back pain. We have found this at H I Ex at York several years ago, hence use rivals more often, surprised not addressed.
