My wife & I really enjoy Chilworth Manor. We have now stayed there 3 times in the past 15 mths. The staff are friendly & helpful, Christina in the dining room excels at her work, in fact every member of staff we interacted with was helpful. However, there were 2 issues that we wanted to highlight, In highlighting these, we trust future guests to Room 1 will not have these issues to content with. 1 - Air-conditioning unit outside bedroom window of Room 1. We stayed for 10 nights, Thursday 22/23, being our last night. For the first 7 nights, we had good nights sleep for the remaining 3 this air-conditioning unit continued to emit a loud droning sound throughout the night. We did mention this to reception the following morning, but nothing was done to remedy this situation. We are not the complaining type, so we left it, therefore enduring poor quality sleep for the remaining 2 nights. This was very disappointing. My wife is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and this was our first break away since September 2024. 2 - The hot water situation in Room 1 is very poor. Despite running the hot sink tap for several minutes their was little or no hot water. Despite the above issue, our experience of staying at Chilworth Manor remains a positive one.

Chilworth Manor is a beautiful hotel that truly deserves more than its 3-star rating. The staff are exceptionally attentive and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Our room was a little on the small side, but it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. While the property could benefit from a bit of updating, it still looks charming overall, with stunning grounds all around. We thoroughly enjoyed the generous breakfast, and although the spa is quite small, it was clean, welcoming, and relaxing. We stayed here for a small celebration and really enjoyed our time — it’s a place we would happily return to.

Just perfect for our needs. Travelling with a car and trailer so needed a large parking space plus on-site facilities to enjoy as it’s not appropriate to search out restaurants etc with a trailer. Very impressed with the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Our evening meal was lovely and afterwards we enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the antics of the swallows. Very good choice of food for our self-service breakfast which we had paid for in advance in the room rate. Before departing we explored the extensive grounds which have conservation status. We would be happy to stay here for a few days as a touring base for Southampton, Winchester and New Forest.

Interesting menu, chose pork belly, was delicious, well presented. Breakfast was good, lots on offer, I chose fruit and yogurt and then cooked breakfast, was all lovely. Hotel room lovely, asked for a quiet room and I got that. Were not that bothered if my friend and I had rooms close to each other, more important the rooms be quiet. Staff very nice, approachable, helpful and friendly

Dinner menu not huge but good options. Bottles of wine rather overpriced. Spa let the hotel down, felt very basic, no softening around the pool, looked like a sports centre rather than an upmarket hotel. Sauna very dark and dated, steam room very much in need to repair and replacement, chipped and peeling plastic seats which had seen better days.

Breakfast was not so good the first morning. We went at 10-15 in the morning food wasn’t so freshly cooked. Second morning we went after 9am food wasn’t a lot fresher. Has for our room we asked for more coffee,tea, milk before we went out ,and more extra towels and when we came back. There was no extra milk coffee and tea bags, and no extra towels put in our room. We had to go to reception and they gave us more extra supplies.

We have stayed a few times now and I got to say we wasn’t so happy with our stay has before,out little light the light bulb was not working but we didn’t brother to bring it up has it seemed the staff wasn’t really brotherd . I did this for my partner birthday it was a bit of a let down.

Arrived to be told we didn’t have a room despite having paid for it and a booking.com confirmation email. Also having contacted the hotel to say we were bringing a small dog and getting a reply to say we can bring dog if we book standard room which we did. The receptionist was rude aggressive and told us it wasn’t her problem because apparently we didn’t return an email sent the day prior titled speed up your arrival that asked us to click here and if that didn’t work change out settings and download a programme which it didn’t I I couldn’t. When challenged and shown our emails she backed down and we hit the room. Apparently they were full with pre cruise passengers. I intend to formally complain when I get home spoiled our holiday and use of booking app.

Breakfast was great, room just good and probably a bit better than expected. The well worn but perfectly fine Spa was included on the price - sauna could have been hotter. Hotel was quiet, the conference room was perfectly good with good catering.

For the price and as a conference location this was just perfect. I can't fault much anything for the price - if the price would be 30% more then I would complain about place needing this and that. I guess they could have a cool bar somewhere else with a garden. You wouldn't want to hang out in the lobby bar for hours on end but the grounds would allow something much nicer to be tucked away.

Staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The hotel and grounds were extensive and beautiful. My friend and I each had a gorgeous room with good facilities, mine was a shower over bath, my friend's was a walk in wetroom. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. The price for our stay was reasonable. Breakfast could be prebooked or paid up front, allowing for flexibility. The nearby pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room facilities were a welcome way to unwind. The location was within walking distance of a local pub and a short drive from Southampton city centre. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway. We will definitely visit again.

Beautiful building and extensive grounds, staff absolutely brilliant haven't had such good service in ages! Room very comfortable had everything that we needed (bed extremely comfortable). Booked B&B breakfast was buffet style and perfect. We decided to make a reservation for evening meal and were not disappointed good menu's and extremely large portions well cooked and beautifully served by the waiting staff. Our cruise embarkation was moved on an hour and so we paid extra for a late 1pm check out. Would stay here again.

I didn't read the description properly, there is no lift in the building but staff helped with our suitcases

Breakfast & array of choice was superb, compliments to all staff, property has real country house character, for what is a 3* mid-range price bracket it definitely exceeds expectations. Gorgeous setting, lovely long driveway (saw a baby deer 🦌) into a secluded feel country manor estate, beautiful grounds & Chilworth conservation area behind hotel is wonderful for escapism & a peaceful stroll. Use of gym & pool included complimentary. Cosy & classy central bar a nice place to chill after a day exploring the nearby New Forest or for a further social after on-site conference or team-bonding facilities which looked plentiful. Highly recommended, a country house style stay at a very reasonable price.
