The Lofts are our go-to spot when we visit my family in Salem. I love the location and it's walkability to all of Downtown Salem's shops and restaurants. The check-in process is always super simple and easy to come in and out. The staff are incredibly friendly and always accommodating. The room itself is incredibly comfortable, with plenty of space to enjoy. I love having a full apartment set-up, from a fully stocked kitchen, coffee maker (with local grounds provided!), washer/dryer, shower with excellent water pressure, comfy couch with smart TV. I will always stay here whenever I am in town!! I cannot recommend this place more!!

The building is really unique and very cool - it's an old car dealership that has been turned into loft-style rooms/mini apartments. Our room had enormous ceilings and beautiful exposed brick. It was so spacious and really nicely appointed. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessities and the addition of the washer dryer was great, even though we didn't need to use it. Unfortunately, the restaurant was not open when we were there - I wish it had been because it looked fantastic and had great outdoor seating options with a fireplace.

The bedroom would benefit from black out curtains - Venetian blinds really didn't block out the lights at night. Also, we could hear all the traffic on the street throughout the night, which might bother some people. It didn't really affect our stay, but I could see where this might be annoying.

Within walking distance of everything we like to do in Salem -- Mill Mountain coffee shop, Olde Salem brewery, Frank's Pizza, the public library, Mac and Bob's (an institution for over 40 years), Frankie Rowland's. Our dog was with us, and it was perfect for her on the first floor.

I have stayed here many times. It's an old building renovated into a boutique hotel... Therefore, noise and lighting are different in each unit and can be a little tricky. You just have to know that going in.

Very cool place to stay, loved the exposed brick and beams, soaring ceilings and natural light, and overall design, appreciated that it was dog friendly and didn't charge a fee for it, loved that they had bikes, good water pressure, walkable and safe area, comfortable mattress

My dog was eating snacks on the floor left from the person before us, there was toothpaste caked in multiple places in one of the bathroom drawers, and a dirty napkin folded under the beside table to keep it from wobbling, the pillows had significant pilling on the cases which felt like inferior quality

I liked the location. A cute little town with a brewery and restaurants nearby. The room was very clean and modern, and the couch and bed were very comfortable.

You could hear other people in the hallway, which was a little annoying since there were was a team of some sorts that was yelling some. But that was a very minor issue and that probably doesn't happen all the time!

I stayed here for two nights. It's a great location in downtown Salem, convenient to multiple restaurants, a brewery, a coffee shop and other shops as well. There are two grocery stores within driving distance and a mall within about 20 minutes. Nothing seemed to be too far away. The room comes with a microwave, electric range, dishwasher, washer and dryer as well as an actual refrigerator (not a mini fridge like most hotel rooms). I did not use the range but otherwise all appliances were clean and in working order. TV service is provided by Hulu. It was fine and had the local and basic cable channels you'd expect. Internet speeds were great. I got over 100 Mbps when running a speed test and had no issues using my laptop while watching something on the TV at the same time. I did not have any issues with noisy neighbors as some others have noted but I also sleep with earplugs so your mileage may vary in that regard. I did check for bedbugs upon arrival and found no signs of any. I had no bites or other issues after sleeping in the bed too. I also liked the touch pads for building and room entry instead of using cards like a chain hotel.

The only issue I had was that there was a strong food smell when I entered the room. After checking I found that the trash was not emptied in the kitchen and bathroom from what I assume were the previous guests. Going up and down stairs if you are staying on the second floor didn't bother me but some might find it inconvenient.

I will definitely come back here and for the price it was an excellent option, get downtown Salem location with two restaurants within a 5 ft walk. Very much better than the suite at the local Hyatt Place we stayed for our first five days in town, less money. We got a one bedroom queen suite and it was like a one bedroom apartment with high ceilings of rustic wood, everything was exceptionally clean and quiet. The check in was seamless as our building and door codes with instructions were text to us. Comfy, with all updated furnishings, luxury towels and toiletries, every channel u could imagine, even a quality air mattress for an extra guest. There was local coffee, everything needed to cook a great meal in the full size kitchen and beautiful lighting that created a warm ambiance throughout. We will definitely be back at Christmas

Clean, stylish, historic - just fantastic! Someone loved renovating this property and did a fantastic job. I would live there! Emily was UHHH-MAZE-EEEENG

Not well marked. We were confused where to go because we were unreachable. No cell phone while traveling in the US. It would not have been a problem if we had received the messages from the property regarding meeting the host at the time of our arrival.

When you travel with a dog it's nice to have a restaurant right there that allows you to dine on the patio with your dog. The restaurant was great. We decided to do take out because we were tired from the drive, but could have used the patio with our dog in tow. Quiet neighborhood behind to walk your dog and a poop station on property. We will stay there again the next time we visit our kids in Sterling, VA.

No elevator that we could find, so if that is a problem for you, stay on the 1st floor.

I really like firm beds and I really liked what they have. It’s convenient that it’s like a mini apartment with supplies for cooking and cleaning. The tv is prepped for Hulu and I believe others too like Paramount. For Hulu, the property has an account that you can use and I believe that you’ll just have to sign in for the others. I liked the convenience of El Jefe being downstairs :) it’s also convenient that it has a washer and dryer.

Can’t really tell. I don’t think it has an elevator so if stairs is an issue, I recommend asking for one of the rooms in the first floor. But if stairs is not an issue then the place is really great!
