We stayed here because of the comments on the great breakfast. They were not exaggerated they had eggs with cheese, biscuits and sausage gravy, fried potatoes, oatmeal. Muffins and much more. My wife eats only oatmeal and I like the rest. The bed and pillows were so comfortable we wanted to take them home with us. The staff was outstanding and helped us find many interesting things to do. Also I never liked clam chowder, but the smoked salmon chowder was great. If we ever get a chance to vacation in Oregon again we will stay here again.

Nothing it was all great.

There is a wonderful walking/biking trail behind the hotel! We were there mid-week and always found a parking spot near the entrance. Free self-serve chowder was out in the evenings, and cold self-serve lightly flavored water was always available. The flavor of the scrambled eggs and sausage far surpassed other 'serve yourself' hotel breakfast offerings I've had in the past year at other hotel properties.

The hotel property was a little hard to find. Turn onto Hamburg, then a quick left through all the U-Hauls and keep straight on down to the hotel. Breakfast was good, but from the rave breakfast reviews I was expecting more selections. My friend and I were both disappointed that there were no waffles! There were no pancakes with toppings available either, or any made-to-order omelets or other eggs. I would have liked to have some raisins and brown sugar for the oatmeal, in addition to the dried cranberries that were available. The hairdryer in the room was a little hard to find. We eventually found it though, in a bag on a hanger in the closet.

The staff was wonderful. We stayed in a suite. It was like a miniature apartment. Fridge, stove, sink, and even came with silverware, pots and pans, cups, dishes, sponge, dishwasher, dishsoap, kitchen towels, paper towels, and dishwasher soap etc... Nice pullout couch, and large king bed with a nice bathroom. There was a coffee maker (Kuerig) with teas, coffee, half and half, (sugar or honey packs would be nice. Surprised there weren't any to go with the coffee and tea.) The air conditioner was a champ and the views of the water and the bridge with the sunset at night were beyond exceptional. There's a pool and fitness center. They also offered free cookies on arrival along with salmon chowder at a certain time. There was free lemon iced water in the lobby as well. Which is nice. Salt water taffy was on our pillows (not my thing), but a nice gesture. The breakfast in the morning was very nice. Sausage, biscuits, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, potatoes, etc.... and self service juice from the dispenser. Kind morning staff. Small little dining area so I took my food to my room as it was packed. There is overflow in a conference room. Plenty of parking.

Overall it was comfortable and quiet. Beds and pillows are a little firm for my tastes, but that's just nitpicking. It's an older hotel so the furniture and drapes are dated. It definitely could use some attention to upgrades. Also in the kitchenette areas, I think the cabinets could be wiped down after each guest leaves. Otherwise they get sticky and gross from other people's hands, food, and drips over time. There were drink machines throughout each floor but it would be nice to have snack machines as well. Sometimes you get a little hankering for a snack at night when everything is closed or you don't want to leave.

This was the BEST hotel of our whole 2-week vacation! We had the King room with whirlpool - not because we wanted or even used the whirlpool, but because it's the only room type that doesn't allow pets and I have allergies. The room and amenities were amazing, clean, and comfortable. They cleaned so well, in fact, that the pillow cases smelled a bit of bleach. It was a lovely room and I would definitely stay there, in that type of room again if we are ever back in Astoria. Highly recommend!

Although the price was high, the room was worth it. That said, you would think they could have something better than plastic utensils at breakfast for $300+/night. Also, it would have been nice to try the salmon chowder on arrival, but they forgot to put the water in the bottom to heat it and the soup was cold. No thank you to cold fish soup, but I did take a cookie. The driveway entrance was a little hard to find by the UHaul entrance but worth finding!

The location was fantastic. On the Columbia near the mouth and there is a walking trail outside the hotel. The hotel is a bit dated in terms of decor but it has excellent amenities - a hot tub pool and showers in the pool room. Also a fitness center and a Library where you can hang out in the middle of the night and not disturb your roomies. The hot breakfast was alos very good.

The room we had was 2 queen beds and there were 3 of us. it was 350 sq ft. There was not much walking space between the bed and the dressers/TV. It would have been nice to have more floor space.

The hotel was in an excellent, quiet, convenient location at the far end of the Astoria Riverwalk. Just a couple of miles from the city center, close to the River Trolley, and near the bridge to Oregon. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel offered nice additional extras like free delicious salmon chowder in the evening, and free cookies. The room and linens were spotlessly clean. The room also included a microwave, a small refrigerator, a Keurig machine for tea and coffee, and bottles of water. The interior might be slightly dated but you get excellent value for your travel dollars. The breakfast options included in your stay are simple, but more then adequate to start your day.

The hot tub could use a refreshment of the finish. Additional fresh fruit for breakfast would have been appreciated. Adding a couple of benches and a picnic table outside would have been great.

Easy walk to downtown Astoria, Interesting location with a great view of the bay for taking sunset photos. Although it isn’t the property, dper se, we were very impressed with the friendly and helpful staff.

Driving through the UHaul parking lot to get to the hotel was a little funky as was the proximity to some industrial facilities. On the other hand, I enjoyed the walking paths to town and looking at the boat dry docking area. Obviously, the location is what it is, but you might do something to prepare guests for their first impression.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The availability of coffee, cookies and salmon chowder especially pleased my husband. The breakfast was very nice with a variety of offerings. The staff at the front desk and the breakfast room were friendly and welcoming. We also appreciated being able to easily adjust the temperature in the room and that the fan was a reasonable volume unlike in some hotels.

The only thing that we would have preferred is paper cups in the room rather than glass, but that maybe just us.

Great location, warm and friendly staff, complimentary afternoon soup. Quiet. Comfortable beds, enough towels for 2 night stay w/o housekeeping. Really felt that service was a priority for the hotel and staff.

Hotel road signage could be better, the directional signs are small and the hotel name is hard to read if you're not familiar with their logo. (Tip: the hotel is set back from the road; it looks like you're going into a storage area for U-Haul trucks first). Breakfast offerings are not the healthiest but definitely enough to get you on your way.

Beautiful & quiet location right on the edge of the bay, within walking distance of downtown Astoria. Rooms were clean, spacious, no smoking smell, matress was extremely comfortable, room has AC. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, sauna, & walk along the dock. The free coffee, breakfast & soup was delicious. We liked that it was a nice hot breakfast, not just “continental” grab & go stuff. The staff was very kind & attentive. We had all the amenities we needed & appreciated that we could check in pretty late (around 10pm). It was also nice to have a later (11am) check out time as well. Nothing but happy with this place. We would absolutely stay here again. Will definitely save to our favorites list.

No complaints at all.
