Beautiful historic property with lovely grounds. Pleasant and helpful staff. Room was spacious with a lovely view into the gardens. Tv was a little small and in slightly awkward position for viewing. Breakfast had a good choice, we had the buffet without the full English , all fresh and tasty food on offer. Car parking good. Can take a walk into Sheringham if you don’t mind a 30 mins walk.

The room had been newly decorated and smelt of paint but we opened the window which helped.

The location was fantastic, rooms were clean, the grounds were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was only a mile from Sheringham, where you had shops, eateries and the beach. There was also a steam train there that you could travel to Holt and back

There wasn't a fridge in the room as the weather was hot, you had nowhere to put drinks to chill. The Euros were on, and there was no TV to watch the games downstairs in the communal areas

The hotel was quiet, cozy and luxurious in beautiful grounds. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Fantastic choice of breakfasts. We travelled in December and there were wood burners in the downstairs rooms and everywhere was decorated tastefully for Christmas. We were very well looked after.

I cannot think of anything I didn’t like about our stay.

We thought the menu was good and offered an excellent choice and value for money. We could of eaten everything. What we did eat was very good indeed, both in the restaurant and bar. The breakfast choice was great the kippers and scrambled egg was so good I had it twice

A minor thing, the breakfast was not included in the price an oversite on my behalf rather than there's.

Beautiful hotel with lovely gardens. Staff were wonderfully friendly. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and our dogs were made very welcome. There was an allocated dog walk in the grounds and easy access to water bowls and dog treats. Great location near Holt with the steam train to Sherringham.

Wish we had been staying longer

We have stayed at the Dales on a number of occasions and have been very happy otherwise we would not return.

Unfortunately this time there were a number of minor issues which individually would not call for adverse comment but this time, We were not offered help to our room (I was on elbow crutches), there was no Hotel info sheet in our room (meal times desk call number etc), at dinner waiters forgot bread rolls (butter on table) forgot to ask for any drinks order (had to ask for wine list), waiters had to ask which customer had ordered which meal and then served the man first. When we booked in we were asked if we would like our room serviced and/or the bed turned down, I thought this rather strange as we were visiting a 4 star establishment

Couldn't fault it in any respect - except below

The quality of the food was extremely disappointing. I couldn't eat the pork on my first evening and had to opt for a dish I didn't really want. Breakfast - oeuf Benedict was presented on a dry tasteless muffin. Even the toast was underdone - normally difficult to spoil toast.

Room was spacious and comfortable with good views but it was high end so what would be expected. Breakfast good with choices and swift service. Dinner was excellent food and well presented. Used bar few times and ate there too again good service. Overall we were pleased with staff & service and quality & cleanliness excellent. Would recommend.

The food served was great, although not a huge choice. But altogether a nice break, and we've already booked a break at the Links for July.

Room was rather small for my husband as he uses a walker and is blind. What can I say about the lift ! Landing was different and felt rather like hitting a concrete floor.

We loved our stay the place was excellent, we stayed an extra day, food very good, although, we had Sunday lunch at 2.30pm and wasn't given Yorkshire pudding which was meant to be included in price,also one desert was missing apple Sobert, we realised they had run out as heard another couple complaining, it would have been nice to have been told and maybe given an extra vegetable, or another ice cream rather than just left. On the whole it was a very nice break and we will return.
