Stepping into Hotel du Mari feels like being gently transported to a bygone era of timeless Italian elegance. The architecture and interiors speak of a beautifully preserved tradition from the hand painted tiles to the delicate iron balconies that overlook sleepy courtyards and sun kissed rooftops. Every corner whispers stories of the past, yet the comfort is unmistakably present. The service is impeccable warm, attentive, and genuinely heartfelt. We felt so welcomed. There’s a quiet charm not only in the way the staff go about their work, but in the very soul of the place itself. What made our stay truly memorable was the atmosphere shared with fellow guests (also the furry four legged verity) equally enchanted, equally serene. There’s a rare sense of community here. Our time at Hotel du Mari was not just a stay it was a cherished experience, woven with beauty, tranquillity, and the enduring charm of old-world Italy. We carry its magic with us still.

The location is superb and it was extremely clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. There was plenty of choice at breakfast.

The layout of the garden apartment I shared with a friend meant that one of us had to walk past the other’s bed to get to the bathroom. This is not ideal for women ‘of a certain age’ who need to use the bathroom during the night. We had hoped to be able to have breakfast outside (and it looked like we could on the website) but we were told that was not possible. Eating breakfast outside is one of my favourite things to do on holiday so that was a little disappointing. The shower kept running hot and cold which was a little frustrating.

A beautiful hotel, elegant and comfortable, one block from Sestri Levante's ocean-side esplanade. The gorgeous hotel is maintained impeccably , all details cared for, and from the lobby, past the restaurant and conference area, to the rooms, the hotel is stately and gives one a feeling of class and love for the art of accommodation. The staff was absolutely excellent - warm, attentive, helpful and professional. The restaurant, a delight.

The breakfast was superb! A wonderful array of cuisine to suit all tastes which was beautifully presented. A resident chef cooking eggs to individual requirements was a bonus. I had a delicious omelette. I was also impressed to see white linen tablecloths and the use of silver tea and coffee pots which transported me to a bye-gone era. The breakfast room was very well- appointed and the staff were polite and extremely attentive.

A well positioned hotel in the centre of Sestri Levante old town. It is a charming vintage hotel with history and beautiful courtyards. An easy walk to Baia Di Silencio and old town. The staff are excellent always helpful, friendly and accommodating our needs. Breakfast included was in a lovely dining room with an extensive variety of food. Room had all we needed and very comfortable.

The Due Mari is an excellent hotel in an ideal location between the two bays of Sestri Levante (a town we really liked!). The staff were exceptionally helpful at all times, not least in helping us rearrange rooms following a minor disruption in our plans. The sea-water pool was a great boon, and the sea - the beautiful Baia del Silenzio - is pretty much on the doorstep. The hotel is generous in giving guests towels for both sea and pool on request. Breakfast was also generous. Our first room was compact and comfortable, with a well-equipped bathroom. The air conditioning unit in the room was a little elderly, but the ceiling fan was very useful. The room was kept spotless by very efficient and pleasant staff. The property itself is spread over several buildings and courtyards and is fascinating to discover in its own right. The buildings and furnishings are very characterful - this is not a standardised place at all. We moved, with the hotel's help, to an apartment associated with the hotel, just across the road, and found it very commodious and comfortable. The staff again went out of their way to help us arrange transport to the station at the end of our stay - and always had a smile for clients.

Great location between both beaches. Lovely restaurant/courtyard with good food. Spa and indoor pool small but outdoor seawater pool is a very good size and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Good parking off site. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Bigger indoor pool

You can tell she was a gem back in the day but it is a little older now by most standards but it's still very charming. Location-wise it's 2 two-minute walk from the beach you literally walk out the front door and take a right and you are standing on the beach. Breakfast is a big buffet with so much to choose from. It's served in this nice garden area.

It is what it is. It's an old hotel in a modern world but that's what makes it charming.

This hotel was one of the most pleasant surprises after many trips to Europe. It has all the classic style and service of a former era and has both indoor and outdoor pools. Staff were very helpful and valet parking was very efficient. It is ideally located about 50m from a delightful beach in a quieter part of the old town.

That we couldn’t stay longer!

I had a beautiful room with a terrace which was amazing. Also appreciated the pool and the other wellness services. Breakfast was really nice and they were even able to get me vegan alternatives which was a great bonus. On the day of departure I left very early and got a little bag with breakfast to go from the super friendly staff.
