This hotel is in a historic building, dating from the 15th Century but well renovated. The staff members, Alicia, Marco and William were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station. A short walk took us to Santa Lucia Plaza where there are restaurants and pubs, and local people gatheear. It was fun interacting with them. A short walk further was a chocolate shop. Great neighborhood. Also, a convenient location from which to take a trip to beautiful Rhein Fall. I highly recommend the hotel. Breakfast was excellent

My wife and I liked everything about this hotel.

Very clean, super close to the train station and town center. At the same time very clean and quiet. I had a room without windows but I knew this prior since it was mentioned clearly in the description and didn‘t bother. The window with the picture of the town is a nice touch to give it a bit of a window feeling. Super clean and everyone very friendly. Breakfast buffet is small but there‘s a good choice and fresh produce.

Hotel is in an extremely convenient location in the historic part of the town. The staff are all very helpful particularly the tall young lady on reception. Very good choice of food for breakfast. Layout of my single room was very efficient. Loved the fact that bed has a bedhead with space for my spectacles. Loved the desk. Loved the exposed wooden beams from the old building. Hotel has an elevator from ground floor to all floors. Hotel is conveniently located for 4 km walk beside Rhine river to Rheinfall.

The ceiling light was just inside the door instead of over the desk. I had to keep the light on in the ensuite bathroom in order to have enough light in the room (which meant that the extractor fan was going all the time). Access to the wi-fi works like pop-up advertising on your laptop so if you have your laptop set up to block pop-up advertising you will not be able to access the wi-fi. Most importantly do not turn the lock on the inside of your door to horizontal when you leave the room as you will not be able to get back in - you will need to get the very helpful tall young lady on reception to come and unlock the door with her master key.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Gluten free bread available if you ask ahead.

The room layouts are interesting. There are natural stone walls, big wooden beams and sloped ceilings in many rooms. If you have height restrictions, make sure to ask.

The hotel building is beautiful with a lot of character. It's located in the old town and a short walk from all the different sites and shops, as well as a 5 min walk to the train station. The rooms are well decorated with nice bedding, towels and modern bathrooms. Our room was build in the eaves of the building and had some beautiful old beams. The breakfast buffet had a really nice selection and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed during a hot week and the room was in the upper levels of the building with no A/C. While they did provide a fan, the small windows meant that air flow wasn't great and the room stayed quite warm. There was also a beam running across the floor in front of our room and some in other rooms and people with mobility issues need to highlight this when booking a room.

The property is in a great location and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate and had all amenities. The staff were very helpful and responsive. They provided us with a kettle when we requested one, gave us dining recommendations and brought us a heater when we discovered the heating in the room and the heated towel rail were not working.

The only issue was the lack of heating which made the room chilly in the evening but did not bother us overnight. The heating came back on around 7.30am

Hot buffet breakfast and nice apple hot tea upon our arrival check in. Exit hotel door to nearest train station Schaffhausen to Zurich will be a breeze with our large luggages instead of the front desk recommended front door entrance. Efficient front desk to direct our walking stores in neighbouring shopping district and William Tell statue

Nice building, nice spacious room. I thought it might be too hot and stuffy with not being able to open the window but air con was very good

It’s a beautiful old building but it does mean noise travels. Would be nice to have shampoo/conditioner and moisturiser included in room although soap was very nice.

the hotel was the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Somebody had thought ahead what a customer wanted and provided excellent service plus extra features that have not been in other hotels. I could list these as they do not show up in Booking.com's list of features but that would make it too easy for other hotels to copy. The staff, including room staff, were aware of, and addressed, my needs even before I was aware I needed assistance to make the stay extra pleasant.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The location is really convenient. The hotel is a few minutes by foot from the train station and right in the middle of the town centre. A lot of food options round.

The double bed was on the smaller side.
