The hotel is designed around Oliver Twist with quotations on the wall. We never did find out the significance. Nicely decorated and a friendly atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant area. The food was lovely and the staff amazing. Thanks to Emma for a warm welcome and looking after us, as well as to the cook and staff at breakfast. Our room was spacious with a large ‘wet area’ bathroom and we could park outside the door. There is the usual array of tea and coffee in the room with great biscuits. Free WiFi is available.

The bed was a shocker. Soft mattress with no support and a very creaky bed which woke us up if we turned over! The walls are very thin. I didn’t enjoy listening to the neighbours using their bathroom and felt uneasy using ours for the same reason. The bathroom was furnished with a shower curtain which personally isn’t something I like. Probably due to the fact that it was a wet area. The flooring needs replacing as it is coming away from the walls. There is some noise from the car park as customers come and go, as well as from the nearby main road. The location is a drive to anywhere. Quite an isolated location.

Comfortable room, but it needed a second leisure /armchair so that both parties could sit and relax rather than being perched on a bed. Would have appreciated having a spare blanket available, but a very flexible heating system in the room compensated. Lovely friendly staff. Property is nicely tucked away off major A roads but with easy access to those trunk roads. Very good food.

Surprised by the flight noise well into the evening - presumably military aircraft (?). Main building looked slightly in need of a facelift. Coffee at breakfast was very weak (from a machine) so espresso a much better option.

The hotel perfectly suited my needs. It was well appointed but small and convenient. My room was in a self-contained block very near my car but also right next to the dining entrance. I was able to have breakfast and dinner there, which fitted in with my work. Best of all, the staff were fantastic; nothing was too much trouble. Oh, and the food was very good, much better than pub grub. Great selection of healthy nuts, seeds, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, plus plenty of cooked options. Dinner was proper chef-cooked. Good packed lunches too. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely choose this place.

Wi-fi required a lengthy sign-in to a third party organisation that wanted lots of data. Not a big deal.

A very pleasant stay at this excellent country inn. The staff and food were first class, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The location was pleasant and easy to find. The internet connection, while good in the bar was intermittent in the room. The room was comfortable with all facilities a traveller would need. A little attention to the en-suite would improve the quality. Overall, a most comfortable stay.

En-suite could do with a refresh. (Check the toilet brush).

Both the accommodation and food were of excellent quality, with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We had dinner on arrival and then breakfast as part of the B&B in the morning and both were superb. The rooms were generous in size, very clean, and perfectly equipped. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and provided excellent customer service. We couldn't fault a single thing!

Lovely Country Inn as described. The room was well set up with plenty of hot beverages to choose from and the shower was great, plenty hot enough and powerful. Friendly staff who made me feel welcome in the bar area. I ate there in the evening and the food was fantastic. Probably the best rump steak I've ever eaten accompanied by homemade onion rings and homemade chips. Breakfast was also lovely, lots to choose from. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again if I was in the area. Thanks for having me stay 😊.

The staff were so good they could not do enough for you so polite and welcoming the owners were unbelievable nothing was to much trouble it is a place to go to relax so clean food well all locally sourced and cooked to perfection I will be back for longer

All of it! It felt very warm and friendly from the moment I arrived, nothing was too much trouble. The room was perfect and the bed super comfy. Breakfast was great and definitely fuelled me up for my journey home. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The newly acquired standing fan in the bedroom was very much appreciated in the very hot weather and the staff were very friendly and approachable. The breakfast was good and as a vegan it was good to be offered alternative milk an yogurt.

It would have been really good if there was perhaps a vegan/vegetarian sausage to add to the other vegetarian elements of the full english..?
