Breakfast was nice but I thought it was in with the price so I was not happy to pay a extra £17.95 for it on top of room for one night at £95 so thought that was a bit steep

It was accessible to my disabled wife & close to people who we were meeting The staff, from arriving to having breakfast they were very good

The room was on the ground floor which was great, but the windows to the room opened up onto the seating area outside, so could be noisy and conversation in the room could be heard outside, when guests left early in the morning (6.15am) the noise of them walking down the external metal staircase was disturbing but also when they dropped off the keys to their rooms which was a metal postbox mounted on the wall right outside our window.

Good menu. Food was delicious, though pricey. The chef presented things nicely and if it is the same chap who did the breakfast, he was lovely and friendly too. Breakfast was delicious. Again, a little on the oricey side, but used local produce. Sausage was delicious, high quality and dense with lots of pork. Bacon was also local, very thick and fantastic quality. 3 slices, 1 sausage, 2 very well cooker fried eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans and help yourself to toast. Good produce. Good selection behind the bar also.

Nothing.

Spotlessly clean. Really comfortable beds and pillows. Plenty of complimentary tea/coffee provided and nice to have a checkout of 11am as we had a late night and the later checkout was much needed. We ate in the restaurant which very convenient and the food was great. Easy check out. Just leave keys in a secure box downstairs and off you go.

Be aware that doors to the rooms don't self lock when you close them. You have to use the key. The radiator in room 4 wouldn't turn off so it was very warm in there. Also there are wall clocks in the rooms that look lovely but tick very loudly. I had to remove the battery in order to sleep. There are blinds at the windows that let in a lot of light. Needs to have additional blackout curtains as it was very bright in the morning.

I made this booking for relatives travelling from Australia. They commented that although the room itself was clean the blinds were very dusty, and I believe one of the guests reported this to the hotel. Overall, they were very pleased and had a really good breakfast before travelling on to their next destination. Thank you for looking after them.

The only comment from them was that the blinds were very dirty but did not detract from their stay. Thank you.

The location is convenient, and it is on a quiet road. The room had everything you could need, and the mattress was comfortable. It is convenient that you could have breakfast, or eat in the restaurant if you wanted. There is a big car park.

The rooms are a bit deteriorated, with marks on the walls, stains on carpets etc. There was a mark in the shower tray that looked like someone had put a hot iron on it! I guess they get a lot of wear and tear.

Clean, modern and spacious. Good WIFI connection. Love the idea of the balcony having tables for residents to chill out on…just a pity the rain stopped me from experiencing that opportunity. Ideal location for travelling to tourist places close by, as Wisbech is only a small town with limited options and very much underwhelming. I had only come to Wisbech for ancestry research.

I didn’t go into the pub for a meal due to the rain, with the rooms being upstairs and having to step outside to go downstairs which wouldn’t have been an issue, a little rain doesn’t hurt anyone but I was cold, and the radiator didn’t work so I needed to sit in bed for some warmth. So bring an extra jumper to avoid the chill. The lighting could be brighter, there was three lights on the ceiling, one wasn’t working and then there two big lamps and it still was more on the darker side.

Location was Ideal for our purposes, just a short drive into Wisbech, Ample parking available. Had meal with my family in the evening, with two grandchildren, who were well looked after by the staff. Meal was lovely and arrived in good time, good value as well. Breakfast was pre ordered the evening before, not a buffet breakfast but the choice of meals was good and very tasty. My partner had a full English breakfast and I had the vegetarian option, both of which were lovely and good portions. The room we had was really nice, and quite spacious, with the use of a veranda available just outside the bedrooms on the first floor. Definitely will book again when we next visit the area.

Can't think of anything that we didn't like about our stay

Lovely sized rooms with everything you need, plenty of coffee and tea, room 5 was a very nice big shower with nice towels. The pub is friendly stylish and has a great ambience The staff are all lovely and attentive and you can tell they pride themselves on providing a wonderful stay. The FOOD is amazing very beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are just right and seasoned perfectly. Breakfast was just right to start the day and again served and presented by the head chef who takes pride in everything. We would 100% recommend a stay or visit just for a yummy meal x

The steps to the upper deck area where the rooms are... If you have mobility issues ask for their accessible room x

The room was large enough for a single traveller, bath room was fine. The double bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in for a very long time, nearly as good as being at home. The food in the bar was very good too, the steak was cooked to perfection and the pale ale was lovely. I will definitely be returning on my next work trip to Norfolk and Cambridgeshire

There really wasn't anything I thought could have been better other than picking up the whole establishment and moving it to somewhere with a fantastic view. Im sure others could pick fault but for the price you won't get better value than this.
