The staff were very welcoming, the twin room complete with kitchenette was spacious and comfortably furnished and the bathroom was a good size too. The breakfast room was bright and airy offering a view of the back garden, a lovely area guests also have access to. We enjoyed the choices for the cooked breakfast in addition to the continental breakfast buffet.

Great decor in large bedroom (Junior suite), liked mirrors on the walls for light and gave luxurious feel to the room and spacious new bathroom, great to have choice of bath or separate shower. Good selection for breakfast, tasty, good produce. Quick service. Location good.
Unfortunately through no fault of the hotel, was very noisy for a good hour in the night and the next morning with arguing guests. Could do with privacy for windows, either one way glass/film or sheer blinds, as decking in the garden was right outside window. It was OK for us as nobody was outside but in warmer weather would be intrusive if people right outside having a drink. Lounge suite could do with new padding and new fabric on arms. Door lock but tricky but we got in the room so all good.

The hotel is a beautiful building which is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The receptionist, Ellie, was completely amazing and couldn't do enough for me to ensure my stay was perfect. Thank you Ellie! 🙏🙏 If only all receptionists were half as brilliant as Ellie, staying in hotels would be much more fun. Cley Hall are very lucky to have Ellie. The facilities were lovely, plenty of places to sit, a lovely bar area, great dining room and super little sunny garden when the weather is good. The breakfast was also fantastic! Lots of choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, bread, teas and coffees with the option of having a choice of different hot breakfasts if you want to. I had a vegetarian cooked breakfast and the poached eggs were some of the best I have ever tasted! Big THANKS to the chef! 🙏🙏🙏 All in all, a place I would definitely stay in again and I have already recommended it to my family, friends and neighbours as I know they wouldn't be disappointed and would be very happy with my recommendation. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Nothing at all. It was absolutely perfect. 😁

A beautiful house in a good location in Spalding. Our request for a river facing room was granted- thank you. We were welcomed in an efficient way. Our room (No. 5) was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Very nicely furnished with plenty of room and comfortable bed. Breakfast included which was really good with lots of choice. Staff very nice and receptive to guest needs.
At breakfast the loose teabags had a strange taste to them. Breakfast was served very early ( between 7am-8.30) which we were told was due to a function that was happening that day which was a little inconvenient.

Very comfortable room (in the annex), quiet and I slept well. Bedroom spotlessly clean and well maintained. Generally good facilities. Bath and shower good, plenty of hot water. Bath, toilet and washbasin also spotlessly clean. Excellent, tasty breakfast. Service for cooked breakfast was also good and decently fast, especially considering that many of the guests were attending the same event locally and arrived for breakfast as soon as it opened. Staff all excellent!
There was a specific issue of cleanliness regarding the floor area of the bathroom which I reported to the desk on checkout (1-night stay). Hopefully this will be addressed quickly. A colleague stayed in a similar (but not the same) room the previous night and commented on the same problem. A minor repair needed in the bathroom - also reported. Surprised that the fault in question had not already been reported by housekeeping or previous guests.

We have stayed at the Cley Hall hotel before and it was nice to come back. This is what I tend to think of as a Country House style of hotel and all the public rooms have traditional and very comfortable decor and furnishings. Check in was welcoming and friendly and our Executive Double room (number 5) is spacious and very nicely decorated and furnished. The only warning I’d give is that the huge wooden bed has large feet which stick out several inches and have real toe stub potential! The room is at the front of the hotel, overlooking the river, and while there is some traffic noise during the day it is perfectly quiet at night.
One smallish negative point: Breakfast consists of the usual buffet of juices, cereals fruits etc and a good choice of hot dishes. Whereas my wife declared her scrambled eggs with smoked salmon to be very good, my Full English was a rather underwhelming affair on both mornings, simply because the ingredients had clearly been cooked quite a while before and kept warm on hot plates or in the oven. It was lukewarm at best.

The room we booked was spacious and clean. It had a large en suite. We had a lovely English breakfast which was a real treat. I can recommend the sausages which were very tasty! There was a continental breakfast as well which was good. The staff were very friendly and we were directed to a good local restaurant call Amici for an evening meal. Spalding is within easy walking distance so could leave the car.
I did struggle getting the shower temperature right but that probably was just me.

A real gem of a place, booked a single but the bed was almost a double, room was very clean and had a nice bathroom. Decent sized tv, a kettle that could fit under the tap in the sink. Hairdryer etc. There was even a bible in the room which is great to see, you don’t have to read it but it is nice to see some tradition surviving. The location was great, 10 minute walk into town and plenty of places to eat, bar on site. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were happy and very attentive. Parking on site was good but I imagine it may be more of an issue when busy. Really liked that in the foyer of the annex there was a microwave, plates and cutlery for heating takeaways or microwave meals to eat in your room, I will definitely stay here again.
The only thing missing was usb points in the room, I mentioned this and they made a note of it.

The hotel is clean and decorated nicely. The staff were friendly and I felt relaxed. The breakfast (included in price) was very tasty; the amount of food provided was sufficient.
I requested a twin room, of which I got. However, the single beds are far too soft, which unfortunately made my sleep uncomfortable. I think the hotel should invest in some new mattresses. In conjunction, the room was rather hot at night for sleeping. This was made worse by the fact that the one window that could be opened, the sash had broken. I could not seem to open the other window in the room.

Booked a small room. Arrived early for checking in. Room wasn’t ready. So they kindly gave us a room the same that I had booked that was ready. Was able to park right outside our room. Nice selection of tea & coffee in room. The room & bathroom nice and clean, had an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and a fan ( which came in handy as it was warm in the room even with window open ) Had extra pillows if needed. Could not fault the breakfast, freshly cooked, did not have to wait long. Good selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt etc. Nice 10 to 15 min walk into town. Staff helpful and friendly.
The only thing that bothered us was the noise from the road but that’s not the hotel’s problem, did get quieter as the evening went on. May not have heard the road but had window open due to it being hot that night. Would have liked bigger cups for tea etc in room.
