The location was amazing with the Old Town right at your doorstep. The train station was a 2min walk down the street! The space in the dorms were great! Lots of space for storage, both in your room and downstairs! Had a bathroom in each room, and more toilets available in the common areas! Very clean! The staff were great and always tried to help with any questions or issues I might've had. Other than the minor details below, I really enjoyed my stay here!

The only downfall was the heating system automatically turning on and hotboxing the top bunkers in. I woke up at dawn because the heat (and smell - mixed dorm) was unbearable. I sat in the hallway until I (and the room) cooled down a bit. I had to request the staff to turn off the heater each night before I went to bed. After that, everything was gravy, had perfect sleep :) Just being a little nit-picky here; the storage lockers downstairs do not accommodate large bags, and you'll be hard-pressed to find space in your room as well. My 60L backpack only just fit. The pool table in the chill space was also unusable as the floor was uneven-the balls would just roll to one side of the table.

Very close to the train station, good blankets, comfortable mattresses.

The 8 bed female dormitory seemed like sleeping in a coffin. All the beds were together in like one big box separated by wooden walls. Also, the lockers were only for the bottom beds and most of them broken. It was also annoying that we had to push the button for water in the shower every 10 seconds to keep it flowing… Probably due to the location, but it was quite noisy at night hearing party music and drunk people from the street. What probably bothered me the most was that the common room is in the basement without natural light and no kitchen. It was extremely damp down there and I had difficulty to breathe.

Really good hostel, french and english. Secure, clean private and social. Next to the tram and train station and city centre. Can't tell more, compared to my overall hostel experience it was super good!

The beds were comfy, super nice idea with the wooden box style. But got me 188, it was almost to small and I can only assume for larger persons, that it might be an issue. This is an general issue, in the end there was space for my toes to hang out a little bit, no "wall" or a end of the bed. Doesn't feel nice to criticise like this, but just to let people know, the beds are boxes, with and open ending slot, but still boxes.

The location was amazing for those traveling by train or bus. The beds were super comfortable and it got dark in your space at night even if lights were on. The AC was a lifesaver.

You could hear the music from the club across the road at night. If the night scene is what you are looking for, it is great! The kitchen only had an oven and microwave, so it was hard to cook any real meals. There was no real way to lock all your belongings in the room.

Le Maje hostel was in a great location, close to the railway station, tram stop for the line to the coast and at the edge of the old part of Montpellier. There were many options for food and drinks in the locality and the hostel staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helped me plan my stay. The hostel was peaceful at night, so I was able to sleep well. The shower was good and there was plenty of nice areas to relax in the lounge area.

For a relatively new hostel I loved the look of it! It was clean and the bed was very comfortable, it was also helpful that there is two showers in the 10 bed dorm. The location of the hostel was perfect, only a 4 minute walk to the train station and 10 minutes to the city centre. The staff was also super friendly and helpful. The common area’s were very nice as well!

Some of the beds had very small openings making it quite hard to get in and out. There also was an issue with the airconditioning making the rooms rather hot during the night. The staff was working on fixing this. Other than that the kitchen only had a sink, microwave and dishwasher so you couldn’t cook properly.

The location of this hostel is exceptional, within a walking distance from everything you could ever desire. The staff speak very good English and were very helpful with questions regarding the city. The food next door who they are partnering with was excellent. The waiters, the bartender and the chef are all very nice people and passionate about their work.

To keep your belongings safe you need a lock. You can either rent one from the hostel or bring your own one. In my case they were out of locks, so I had to go buy one before I could bring my stuff in. So a small inconvenience there, but luckily there is a shop that sells locks on the other side of the road. Little things here and there like a false fire alarm, one of the shower doors not closing at all, someone complaining about the AC in another room. Nothing major to complain about and given the use these rooms are in for constantly, it's very understandable, but unfortunate as well.

It was comfortable, good staff, GREAT location, overall would recommend.

The smell in the rooms was odd? Im not sure what it was but it wasnt a big problem. Also some of the guests weren't as clean, but im sure that if i came a little later the staff would have taken care of it.

I liked the location, it is right close to the train station, and couple minutes away from all of the touristic locations. Bed was clean and comfortable.

There was no warm water in the shower and the shower heads were put up in the way where you literally can only wash you hair because you can not move the shower head. And also the shocking information for me was that the deposit is 50e, everything was fine, I got my money back of course but that is a lot of money.

It was nice overall. The reception was very helpful. The hotel is in the center of the city and very close to the train station..

It's a little weird going to the next restaurant for breakfast. But what's worse is that they are served two slices of dry bread for breakfast. You can't serve this as breakfast and get paid. I paid for breakfast for 4 days, but I didn't eat breakfast for the other two days. My advice is, do not buy breakfast at all.
