We were very pleased with just about everything. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great with an excellent selection of continental options. The lay-by outside was very useful and having the car park across the road was ideal. It was great to have an ice machine just along the hallway! Everything was brilliant. Just what e needed for our 2 night stay. We'll definitely use Leonardo Hotels again.

Having to climb into the bath for a shower. I prefer a walk-in shower due to arthritis, and there was no rubber mat for in the bath. Next time I will remember to ask if this is available.

The location was great, very close to the main attractions. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The food at the restaurant was nice and the waiting staff very friendly.

The hotel didn't have parking, but it gave a discount on the car park across the road so we paid £10 per day. The only issue that we had in our stay was that the reception called our room at nearly 10 pm saying that we hadn't paid our bill at the restaurant (which we did). The call woke up my young son who was already sleeping at that time and my husband had to go to the reception to ensure they found our payment in the system which disrupted our stay.

Parking was convenient. Location was good for the Cathedral. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a very good choice. The Reception and restaurant were nice and light and airy. One of the staff came to tell us of procsdure in case of fire.

We requested an Accessible room which was granted. The bathroom was of a good size, but a bathtub is not accessible to a disabled person so we were unable to shower. The room door was very heavy so it was impossible to get into the room with a wheel chair without assistance - some hotels have a button to open the door and keep open fo as long as needed.

Beds were comfy, location within the town, got a discount voucher and free coffee voucher for our stay and also got some goodies in our hotel rooms! :) Staff were great! Restaurant staff accommodated to us at the restaurant when we didn’t book as we intended to eat elsewhere despite our large group size!

Probably a one off but we got charged wrong with our order which took some time to fix (but the staff were lovely about it!) and I get it was busy so we were told we had to wait an hour for food. (They warned us!) Came on a busy day unfortunately! TAKE THIS WITH A PINCH OF SALT AS IT IS LIKELY AN ACCIDENT!!! Food was good though :)

The receptionist, Kyrie, went above and beyond in welcoming us. She was so helpful and kind at the end of what was a very long day. We had a free upgrade and our room was tucked away at the back of the hotel, very spacious, clean, well equipped with towels, pillows and drink facilities. All in all very good. The bar was open and we enjoyed a glass of wine, the bar person, I didn't catch her name, was also very helpful.

We didn't book breakfast as we're not big eaters. We opted for a coffee and pastries, unfortunately the pastries must have been cooked from frozen, maybe in a microwave, and were underdone and rather unpleasant. We didn't make any comment as neither of us were very hungry, I'm sure it would have been fixed if we had. Everything else was great and I would recommend a stay here.

We stayed at the hotel for an open day at the university. Great location, and I have to say pleasantly surprised for the money. The staff are not just good they are excellent, everybody so happy and positive, Going down to breakfast it was busy, but expected, the hot chocolate was not working and my daughter said to me that she wanted one, a member of staff overheard the conversation and said don't worry ill make you one fresh. This was whilst the restaurant was really busy, great service.

There is nothing to complkain about wit this hotel, for the cost you are getting great value and very happy staff, it made a real difference from other hotels you stay at.

I've been to Exeter several times and always stayed here, it's a nice hotel that is within walking distance of the train station and also the downtown area. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is quite good!

The door key system is a bit outdated, and I lost the key in the slot. The hotel staff were fortunately quite prepared for this outcome because it seems to happen pretty often, and were able to fish the key out with two butter knives. They lamented that they want to see the door key system upgraded one day, it would be nice if the hotel could actually do this and save the staff the hassle of dealing with the butter knives.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy with a nice on suite bathroom. The staff were very helpful, nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was outstanding. Unlike other hotels I have stayed in they still have the full English breakfast and not ditched it in favour of the continental breakfast, what they have done is given you the choice of both English and Continental. Other hotels would be wise to follow their example. I would heartily recommend and I myself will be staying there again, when I need to stay in Exeter.

Negs: Tiny awkward bathroom, loo behind the door felt a little cramped. Shower tap knackered so shower turned itself off after 2 seconds if set at bearable temperature. My partner likes boiling hot showers so didn't mind so much but as a normal person my showers were pretty cold. Not lukewarm, cold. Pros: All staff super friendly and smiley. We have a two year old who knows her own mind and all the girls on dinner and breakfast were really great. Parking close over the road and cheaper than advertised. Location amazing for Exeter centre. No noise from other rooms at all but we were in an end room...

Location good, opposite car park and 10-15 minutes walk to the city centre. Lovely reception and good welcome, lobby smelled lovely. The room was one if the best decorated we’ve stayed in - light and welcoming. Good tea tray. Some small maintenance issues like damaged skirting boards and temperamental door handles that needed a little attention, but overall very happy.

Breakfast offerings and quality were good but the staff were overwhelmed with the number of guests which having no clear seating system did not help with ‘sit where you like’ but there were no clean tables. We had to ask the already busy staff for cutlery, table cleaning, etc as well as additional food as items had run out and were not replenished. Having assigned time slots would address that to ensure a smoother flow of guests.
