100/10, this place was incredible! The owners were so so cute and friendly they couldn’t be more helpful. Lots of freebies including snacks downstairs. Cooking facilities (microwave), self service laundry and water dispensers (on each floor!). We went for a private room with balcony and it overlooked the lake and sunset which was fab. Nice to be able to get a couple beers from 7-11 and enjoy a sundowner on the balcony! They also have a roof terrace too. The shower was amazing and hot, great pressure. The bed was super comfy AND they have netflix!!! Which is needed in sun moon lake since it’s dead after 6pm, but we enjoyed the chill time. We are glad we stayed for 2 nights (though we did get lucky with the weather), the day we arrived about 11am and left out bags to go off and cycle 30km (rent bikes from Giant) around the lake. Next day we went for a run and did the boat hopping trip around the lake too. I imagine it would be pretty crap in bad weather so ideal to book 2 nights for flexibility. Then if you get a bad weather day you can just chill in the incredible room and binge Netflix all day! Also convenient spot just 2 mins walk from bus station/7-11

Nothing it was just perfect

The girl at the front desk was super friendly and helped us with everything — tips on what to do, where to eat, and how to get around. Her English was very good. The room was really well set up. Often you miss little things like a bedside lamp, enough power outlets, or a place to hang your clothes, but not here. There was also plenty of space to unpack and store our luggage from our two backpacks. The room was spacious, had an enclosed shower, and even a Japanese toilet. Breakfast was really good. They even prepared something extra for our diet — like pasta, vegetables, and a sandwich — which we really appreciated. The breakfast area is on the top floor and offers lovely views, making the start of the day even better. The hotel also added lots of nice extras like free coffee, snacks, a postcard service, and even complimentary bug repellent. The location was great too — close to the bus station, bike rentals, and plenty of restaurants.

The bed was a bit to hard to my liking because I like a soft bed but was still better as most other accommodations we had in Taiwan.

I don’t know what we liked best. The hosts are awesome and made us feel welcome from the first minute. The room is spacious, has a seating area, tv, balcony, WiFi and a Japanese toilet (which we loved) :D Bed is extremely cosy. They also have a free snack bar, tea bar, water dispenser, fridge. We used the washing machine on the 5th floor as well. The breakfast offers a good variety of Asian food and „western“ food like bagels & toast. Location couldn’t be better, right on Main Street but quiet, 7/11 straight across the street.

The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the bus station and well-located right next to the lake. Our room was very clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful — they really take their time to make sure guests feel welcome. The minibar was a thoughtful touch, stocked with a variety of Taiwanese snacks that gave us a fun and tasty introduction to local flavors. It had everything a traveler might need. We originally planned to stay one night but ended up extending to two, which was just the right amount of time to explore the area.

Our stay was simply perfect.

Room was lovely. Big round window with a view. Very comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Access to washing machine and tumble dryer. Wonderful home-cooked breakfasts. What really made it special were our hosts who were cheerful, welcoming and thoughtful. We had to leave very early on the last morning and they very kindly made up two breakfast boxes for us to take with us. Just one of many examples of their thoughfulness. Can't recommend highly enough :)

There was nothing to dislike.

Favorite place I stayed in all of Taiwan. The location is excellent, close to the bus station and the pier, and we even got a nice sunny (partial) lake view from our room. The best part is the super friendly service, though. We were allowed to check in early, no questions asked, and were super well taken care of by the owner and her family. Definite recommendation.

Great location. Its distance is perfect from shuishe port, away from all the crowd and noisy busy street but still walkable distance. The hosts are amazing, accommodating bfast time earlier for our travels the next day. Their cute little station of free snacks/coffee/first aid kit/travel items are very thoughtful. The views are nice. Very cozy and clean place to live. Would 10/10 recommend. We would come back again :)

Absolutely nothing :) would stay here again

Great location near the Shuise Pier, staff were so friendly and happy to offer suggestions for nice places to eat and rent bikes. We were able to park our bikes in the lobby area. Loved the free snacks. Room had a lovely view of the lake and was clean and comfortable.

Only negative was the pillows were a bit flat and soft, but that’s a personal preference.

The host and her daughter were extremely helpful and accommodating to our request during our stay . They even assist in bringing in our six huge luggages into the lobby area . No doubt it was a short stay, but we had a wonderful time staying over. Love the warmth of the host for providing us with such a memorable time to stay in Sun Moon Lake .
