From the moment we arrived (3 hours early) Noreen and JP were exceptional hosts, nothing was too much trouble. They shared their knowledge generously, which we are so grateful for. It helped us to visit and see things that we probably wouldn't have otherwise thought of. The Vandees is a lovely house in a wonderful setting and is decorated uniquely in Noreen and JP's artisan style. Our room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable, it felt home from home. The breakfast was spot on every morning and certainly filled you up for the day. Our last night at The Vandees was our anniversary and Noreen very kindly gave us and two other guests a lift to the local town for dinner and then picked us up a few hours later, it was a lovely thing to do.

Wow! We had an exceptional time, JP & Noreen are excellent hosts, going above and beyond. Their accommodation is very unique, very, very comfortable, the most amazing bed, huge and so comfortable and luxurious, along with our room, so cozy and spacious, so peaceful with a gorgeous bathroom. We had an amazing breakfast, lovely selection of fresh fruit, freshly cooked fry done to perfection, Noreen’s own baked soda and bread was delicious! We had such a warm welcome, lovely wine and what a fantastic couple! They are so interesting, friendly and make you feel so welcome. Would 100% recommend, an absolute gem!

We had the most amazing time with Noreen and Jean Paul. Thank you so much for having us and taking such good care of us. The place is absolutely beautiful and you will not feel like staying at an B&B but staying with friends or family. Cosy room and the most comfortable bed we slept in for ages, delicious home cooked breakfast, amazing stories and anything else you can wish for.Thanks for all the great recommendations and we really hope to come back one day!!!

That we could not stay for ever...

The hosts, Noreen and JP, are fabulous people: incredibly nice and welcoming, it's as if you're interacting with old pals. They have infinite knowledge of the best places to see and visit -- essentially personal travel guides. They are also very accommodating to guest needs (timings, travel, etc). Can't thank them enough for all the personal touches they put into their guests' stay. Noreen's home-cooked breakfasts are to die for (would have over a restaurant's any day) and she managed an excellent variety throughout our week's stay. And JP makes perfect coffee and tea ;D The property itself is beautiful and unique -- really excellent designs (architecture, decorations, art, space use) which made it a special experience. The room is comfortable and spacious for two. A car is recommended to reach, but the location is situated perfectly for exploring both Belfast and the country side/attractions. We definitely recommend a stay here.

The Vendees is in a quiet, rural location in a small village. It gave good access to County Down and Belfast. The breakfast was plentiful and there was a choice from continental items and cooked food, including an Ulster fry up and pancakes! Noreen and JP were very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of suggestions for places to visit. The room was lovely and the bed and sheets very comfortable. A guest sitting room is provided and homemade cake on arrival, which was very tasty!

Absolutely amazing experience and fabulous place to stay. Noreen and JP are wonderful people, who make you feel extremely welcome and at home. They catered for my every needs, from and amazing vegan breakfast (best I have ever had in any B&B or five star hotel) to vegan sweet treats left in my room. The accommodation is also amazing and is located in a tranquil location, within easy reach of Belfast attractions and Airports.

It felt like we were staying with friends! Noreen went the extra mile to meet my complex dietary requirements. The house was fascinating architecturally, but spacious, quiet and very comfortable and warm. There was a small town nearby with plenty of places to eat and drink.

There was nothing we didn't like! The surrounding lanes were winding and narrow, but navigating using Google maps was fine.

Jean Paul & Noreen greeted us at the door & offered tea which was so welcome after a long day of driving. The house & room are beautiful in a lovely setting. The full Irish breakfast was delicious & home made. Noreen & Jean Paul are extremely gracious hosts. They were interested in our travel plans and took time to give us maps & suggestions for stops along the coast where we could walk. We took every bit of their advice & had such a memorable experience. The drive & stops along the coast of Ireland has been a highlight of our trip & in great part due to the advice of Noreen & Jean Paul. We highly recommend this B & B.

Everything was excellent!

Truly exceptional! We loved everything about the property, especially the amazing hosts. This was one of the best stays we’ve ever had. JP and Noreen were incredibly lovely and welcoming. Every facility and arrangement at the property was outstanding, with thoughtful personal touches throughout. We stayed here on New Year’s Eve and had a wonderful time celebrating with our hosts.

Noreen and JP are beautiful human beings and fantastic hosts! We immediately felt at home and they did everything to make us feel comfortable with great spontaneity. It was like visiting old friends. They shared with us plenty of experiences and suggestions. We had such a great time! You can see the creative soul of the Vandees in every detail in the property. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and everything was either self-grown or locally sourced. We loved every moment and wish we could have stayed longer. We left richer than we arrived!

Finding the house the first time can be tricky. Just drive beyond the first white house (2b)!!
