This place is a little out of Hillsborough, but in a lovely location, quiet and picturesque. Its a nice area to go for a stroll around too - leafy and quiet. In the room, the bed was comfortable and the facilities were fine - quite small bathroom, smallish room due to having a double and a single bed, but fine for one person. The room was clean, and the shower was good (as in temperature quite consistent, powerful enough). The breakfast was lovely and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. It was also very quiet overnight. The car park was full so I parked just outside the gate - there's plenty of space, and its a very quiet little private road so it was absolutely fine, just a few paces from the front door.

The furniture and decor in general looks a bit tired - for example, the mirror door on the cupboard was cracked - not unsafe but just a bit ugly. Relatively, it wasn't an expensive place to stay, so all up, I didn't mind any of this myself - it still represented ok value compared to other places, but I think a little bit of updating would be good.

Dunhill cottage is ideally placed for visiting Hillsborough, Belfast, and numerous other places of interest. the breakfasts were more than adequate with a great selection of cereals. juices. fruit yoghurts, and large cooked breakfast. Hosts were friendly and very helpful with a good knowledge of the area and its tourist attractions. were able to advise on the road network and other means of transport to visit places. Bedroom was exceptional.

Nothing to dislike

THE BEST stay! Truly, it felt like home away from home. The room was great - the beds were SUPER comfy (almost didn't feel like getting out of it in the morning) and the small touches made all the difference (the Biscoff cookies, the nice water bottle, the wireless charger, all of it). The breakfast service was delicious and we loved the way that they collect your order beforehand and have it all ready in the morning. Plus, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! Peter helped us get set up for a late check-out after our flight was delayed; Natalie was so attentive and cooked us a delicious breakfast meal; and there was another gentleman who greeted us at breakfast with a big smile. We loved everything!

I thought the rooms, breakfasts and welcome was great. The owner for the first part of my stay was chatty and provided information on sightseeing around Strangford Lough. The last morning of my stay was the first by the new owners. To me this different arrangement appeared to be a pretty seamless transition! The new owners are experienced with other B&B's and although they appeared a little stressed it all went well.

The only suggestion I'd make is a new seal around the sink plug in the bathroom (of room 3). Or perhaps a new plug? It couldn't hold water for my wet shave. But that's a minor quibble.

Quiet location, beautiful decor in the bedroom, good quality soft furnishings, warm and comfortable. Very clean, good-sized ensuite. Fabulous continental breakfast with lots of choice and generous full cooked breakfast included. Very simple check in process with friendly host.

I thought there were too many Halloween decorations inside the property (just my personal opinion) but it did not impact on or affect my stay.

This cottage was beautiful and set in a gorgeous setting with views of the mountains in the distance It was very clean, and I felt like a home away from home. The staff were amazing, and it is clear that every effort is made to ensure a fantastic stay for all guests. The attention to detail and the guest information pack were a great touch as all my questions were answered. Fantastic break and easily one of my top 5 locations in Lisburn.

A beautifully designed and maintained B&B in a lovely, quiet cul-de-sac, just a 2 minute drive from the picturesque village of Hillsborough. Breakfast was delicious. Our family room was spacious enough for 5 people and very nicely furnished. The owners were helpful in their suggestions of where to visit in the locality and beyond. Our children enjoyed the play area in the garden.

Everything was very good.

The room was huge and very well appointed with two double beds and a single, just for me on my own.

The only downside was really a fault of my own in that the wet room was great but without a shower seat it meant that it was difficult to take a shower, but if I had asked, a shower seat would have been available. For my next visit I will make such a request.

Very easy to get to. Location is great and so close to he sights around Hillsboro. Staff are very friendly and kind. The rooms are spotless and have lots of little touches that makes you feel very welcome. The beds were really comfortable. Breakfast was great with good range and variety: a really excellent run BnB and would highly recommend for anyone visiting or passing through the area and needs an overnight stop!

The location is in beautiful countryside, the bedroom was extremely comfortable and quiet - the chocolate mints on the bed were a lovely touch. The hostess Gillian was extremely nice, I was travelling by busand on foot so she kindly gave me a lift back into Hillsborough for the event I was attending the next morning.

As I said, I walked to Dunhill Cottage from Hillsborough and it is a good 20 minutes walk. My fault for not realising it was such a distance! However it is extremely convenient for those travelling by car.
