Stayed for 3 nights (6th-9th August 25) the room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed and well presented. All staff who assisted us were friendly and helpful. The reception team returned a bag to me after I left it in the room accidently, they were extremely kind about it. The location of the hotel was ideal with immediate access to the River Wye and the town centre with a range of bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend Leaven Pizza and cocktails at The Tipsy Kat.

The only downside was the temperature in the room at night. The fan did help but air con would have been ideal as the windows could not be opened.

The room was very comfortable and large. Breakfast was very tasty, Good choice of teas, coffee etc. in the room. Good choice of breakfast times.

The decor in the room was a little shabby and it would have been nice if there was a box of tissues there. We were facing Broad street so had to keep the windows closed because of the noise in the street. Even though there was a fan provided, air-conditioning would have been better. There was no room in the car park on our second night which we had already paid for. Luckily there was a free space outside the hotel and as it was Sunday the next day, we didn't have to get up at 8am to move the car.

Location is great, and the general layout and decor in the room was great. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We’ve stayed here a few times before, but never in the height of summer. I don’t know how it’s possible, because the temperature both in the reception area and in the corridors were fine, but the room was like a furnace. It was unbearably. Thankfully we had a fan, but we had to have that on the entire time, as well as closing the curtains and opening the windows, and it still took until around 5am the following morning for the temperature to be anywhere near tolerable. Unfortunately we were unable to open the bathroom window, so that remained unbearably hot

Comfortable bed. Quiet room. Good hospitality tray & nice biscuits. Had a fan out ready for us-weather was hot so needed it. Dropped bags before checking in & they were waiting for us in our room when we arrived 1:30 am. Thanks so much. Aldo they had iced bottled water at reception for us-Thank you it was so welcome. Always welcoming & friendly at reception. I had a good room with walk in shower -being disabled I have trouble with a shower over a bath. I requested a walk in shower -I’m not ready for a fully disabled room. They always accommodate me with room 101. Also husband left his watch in the room & we had a call to tell us this not long after we’d checked out. Thanks housekeeping & reception staff.

The last night there I put my hearing aid on a book on the bedside table before going to bed. It was there when I got up in the morning but possibly fell on the floor as we were preparing to leave. On the drive home I realised I had left it so phoned the hotel once home. I was told they would check and call me back but they didn't. I called again the following morning and was told it wasn't found. I assume it was thrown out when the room was cleaned which was disappointing, they are expensive to replace.

frugal but adequate toiletries for one night (understandable re saving environment) good job i had remembered shower cap Bit of a wait for b'fast from the kitchen but delicious when it arrived (smoked salmon & scrambled egg) luckily others were still ploughing through a full English so not eating alone (it was 9am a busy time)

Nice decor, comfortable beds and friendly staff. The location is very central and there is parking behind the hotel, and if you’re lucky enough to get space, it’s very reasonably priced. The bars were nice and cosy and I recommend staying here!

The breakfast was £16.50 each and we ordered off the main menu only to get a very small plate; if you ordered from the main menu you weren’t allowed to go to the buffet, so we left hungry. It was not worth the money, there are plenty of good reasonable cafe’s nearby that is cheaper with bigger portions. Plus a party was happening one night downstairs and it was very loud and went on until midnight, so we couldn’t get to sleep. In hinsight, we should have asked to switch rooms but was too tired to pack everything up. They need better soundproofing or just to turn the volume down to be considerate to other guests.

An elderly relative of ours was rushed to Hereford Hospital, so we needed somewhere to stay for a few days. We are so glad that we chose The Green Dragon Hotel. After tiring and emotional days at the hospital it was a lovely cosy place to return to where we could relax and unwind. The hotel has a history that goes way back. It has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored. We loved it! We had coffee and pastries in the elegant Garrick Lounge in the mornings, we dined in the Hereford Brasserie in the evening, the food was delicious, and enjoyed a drink in the cosy Orange Bar. The staff were all professional, friendly and helpful. The owner was always around in the daytime checking that we and the other customers were enjoying their stay. Rooms were lovely and comfortable. Hotel is creaky but then given it's age it's hardly surprising. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Location was brilliant. Really central to everything. Car park was handy. Staff were all helpful and friendly.

Orange bar did get very crowded at times. We sat in the foyer with our drinks which was okay. However, the Garrick Room could be open for sitting in the evenings as a quiet lounge. Most important though, a misplaced apostrophe on a sign in the foyer. It should read WCs, disabled, male,female not WC's.

Great couple of nights the room was large and comfortable, The hotel has a nice feel to it comfortably lounge area nice bar good restaurant area all well done out. It's in a great position near to centre that has a good selection of shops, indoor market, food outlets and cafes and bars, plus cathedral and museums, the racecourse is a short distance away, taxi just under 10 pounds each way

The menu could have been better, was abit disappointied with the food we had, most of it was lovely just little bit, s let it down. The cost of parking had s to the price, but they do offer a reduction.
