Room clean and great staff. Bed was OK comfort wise, great shower and tv with tea and coffee facilities. Hotel was just around the corner from the bus and train station (buses are free by the way!) . Breakfast was really good with a wide variety of continental breakfast items and hot items.. eggs bacon and sausages. There were also a crepe warmer and all the usual cereals and juices. The breakfast area tended to always be busy which with only one coffee machine caused a bit of queuing. Very tight underground but free car park which you need to book in advance. All in all a lovely hotel and great value.

Not much really.

Location was excellent although security caused us an issue, even though we had pre-registered via an Accreditation Voiles de Legende as requested due to the Tall Ships event that weekend and had booked underground parking at the hotel, no one wanted to acknowledge the accreditation, so a waste of time completing this. 5 x motorbikes were turned away and advised to go to another entrance which was not easy to find. Even then we were turned away, but having booked to stay at the hotel we did have to make a stance as we were not prepared to park in a main outside car park away from the hotel with thousands of visitors expected to attend the tall ships event having pre-booked parking, so first impression was not good. The hotel was busy but breakfast was great with gluten free bread available and we had a cheese/charcuterie board one afternoon which was superb and the staff were really helpful.

When I asked if they had any gluten free beer at the bar as I'm Coeliac, I was laughed at! Whilst not expecting them to have it in reality, I wasn't expecting that response and another customer sat at the bar assisted with reviewing a bottle of beer which was actually 0% alcohol and not gluten free.

Breakfast was fine, number of selections are adequate. The rooms were clean and nicely laid out. The staff were very helpful. There was minimal noise in the hotel. The airco in the room was excellent.

The breakfast area is quite small and some desks/chairs were meant to have a drink, not eat with plates. Also, the scrambled eggs need to be improved. The taste and the texture was all wrong. I expected better from Mercure. The soap in our room was empty. Luckily the one in the shower wasn't too far away, so we used that one. Please have the staff check if the soap dispensers are full after each visitor. Finally, Mercure should have some deals with the parking area. It is not nice to pay 21EUR for one day just to stay at the hotel.

Great location for our stop en route from the UK to the Netherlands. The hotel is super easy to find and there were great views of the port from our room. There are a limited number of secure parking spaces one of which we had prebooked as we had a car full of stuff, but a regular car park opposite. Next door was an American diner which was perfect for dinner with kids. Staff were lovely and welcoming and put us at ease. Gorgeous Nuxe products in the bathroom.

My only gripe was the noisy plastic undersheet which seems to have become the norm in a lot of chain hotels and mattress quality on the sofa bed - seemed very squashy. We also didn’t have breakfast as already £160 for the night (in October) without. Not an unfair price for a family room but not cheap.

Nice room, safe underground parking, breakfast was fine - dogs are allowed into breakfast area.

There is a need to leave a deposit with your card - €250 - which was not stated anywhere during booking. Elevators were always busy. From window we had a view on a parking. You had to go to reception to fetch water - they didn’t warn us about it during check in. No pain killer meds at reception - very inconvenient at Sundays. The floor lamp in room wasn’t working.

Menu in restaurant basic not a huge variety Also this girl kept giving my twins a funny look all because they were playing

New hotel so everything was clean and functional. Good size room, nice bathroom. Great breakfast (extra cost). Very welcoming staff. We used the private car park (an extra €15 a day) but there's also a lot of free parking as there's a cinema near by. About 20 minute walk to the beach/town centre or probably a 10 minute drive

The parking spaces were pretty small & there weren't many of them - we were told we could use another company's space which we chose to do as they seemed slightly bigger/had more turning space. The lifts seemed to always take a long time, especially when we arrived (I think housekeeping were still doing their tasks so were using the lifts a lot) and there was only 1 lift to the parking level (security, I guess).

Great location. Nice and clean and smelling good hotel. Safe and coffee in the room. Everyone very friendly.

One thing only - the mattress protectors. I think the hotel is using disposable ones or else using cheap plastic ones. We were sweating like hell from lying on them and they were making noises and coming off the mattress.

Large shower and rain shower head with great hot water. Friendly helpful reception staff. Early check-in. Large room. Large TV. Very secure bike storage in locked room inside locked garage - best we've ever had in a hotel. Good location near train station and belfry.

No air conditioning until 1 June but window can be opened and not too noisy. Small towels. No fridge.

The rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable. The beds are nice. With the curtains closed, the rooms are very dark. I did not have to wear my sleeping mask. You get a free bottle of water at check-in, which can be freely refilled at the reception.

One tip: it would be nice if there would be a sign near the road that would point to the parking lot, because it was not really clear where it was located. Tip for people visiting Duinkerke: most things are closed on Sunday.
