The hotel came with surprising additions. For me, it’s all about the little things, the small touches. First of all, you walk out of the hotel and you’re on the beach. There is a bar on the beach below hotel in addition to lounge chairs in the sand. It was obviously a popular, local hang out spot as it never lacked guests. The room was choicely decorated. There were slippers and bathrobes in the rooms, the service sets were elegant and the breakfast, high quality. The staff was friendly and helpful, and repaired and provided bikes for us to visit a museum a few kilometers away. I am from the United States and my husband is from Germany and it exceeded both of our expectations. I can’t think of anything that would have made it better, except choosing a room with a sea view next time!

The location was perfect, right on the sea front. We had a sea view room, which costs more but well worth the extra cost as the views were breathtaking. The room was compact but lovely. Breakfast was absolute top class, a huge range of sweet, savoury and plenty of fresh fruit to choose from. Also the hotel has private parking (at an additional cost) but it is secure and at the back of the hotel. Staff were all very welcoming and pleasant. Beautiful hotel, would highly recommend and we would stay again without hesitation.

Nothing, absolutely perfect

The hotel was lovely, light & airy, very nicely decorated, extremely good atmosphere.. The rooms were modern, very clean and very comfortable, the bed and the linen was sumptuous, towels and dressing gowns were soft and fluffy, lots of attention to detail. The staff were really friendly and so helpful. Location was excellent, right on the promenade of the gorgeous long beach, spolit for choice of all the restaurants, bars, lounges and cafes and close to the town centre and museums There were parking spaces for a very reasonable fee behind locked gates for hotel guest & bikes available too. Overall a wonderful stay and definitely a hotel we will return to. :)

Lovely hotel that accommodates dogs right on the beach. Beautiful view and great location. The air conditioning worked great.

We had emailed ahead to say we would need a parking spot and the hotel confirmed there would be a space booked for us that day. When we arrived, there was no spot for us and we had to find street parking. Luckily all the street parking in the town is free, but it was very busy on a Saturday. It ended up being a long walk with all our bags and the dog crate to and from the hotel, which was frustrating when we were told there would be parking available.

What is not to LOVE about this Hotel ?! From their gated secure private Car Park, Slick Check-In, then the absolutely gorgeous room with the most amazing Beach / Sea / Promenade View. Our room had Luxurious decor in deep reds & golds, beautiful quality curtains, quality monogrammed bedding, the comfiest mattress I’ve ever slept on, big soft pillows, good size bathroom, fabulous shower, dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries - fluffy towels ! Everything spotlessly clean, credit to Housekeeping. Fridge, Water, Coffee/Tea … Breakfast - huge varied choice of quality fresh food, best of all the 4 Stars we’ve very recently stayed in. Staff cheerful, friendly. We only spent one night here and already felt so sad to leave. We had the best comfiest nights sleep which was so Welcome before our long drive home to the North UK. Almost forgot to mention their Beach Bar, absolutely lovely classy area to enjoy a drink & snacks. If we return to Dunkirk we will definitely stay here again 100%. Thank You to this Hotel for making the last day of our trip so wonderfully memorable. Also very dog friendly with a bowl, treats and a little bed waiting for our Dog in our room.

Having to Leave after Only 1 Night - wish we had booked a longer stay.

Location, location, location. Room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Beds were comfortable as were pillows. Towels met my definition of a great hotel - big and fluffy. Bathroom had every extra you could think of then more. Buffet breakfast was as they say ‘small but beautifully formed’, so much choice all fresh and tasty. Parking on site was a definite plus. Rooms were small but fine for overnight stay. If we had stayed longer I would have paid extra for the bigger rooms.

WiFi connection- couldn’t get it to work at all on one phone and the other kept on dropping. No problem for one night but might have been tricky if we had stayed longer. Only reason I did not give a 10. Would have preferred a room with twin beds for family but can understand why they only had doubles as they fit room size better.

Room. Spotlessly clean. Standard room had limited storage and quite small. Still lovely though. The deluxe room which we moved to as stayed an extra night was probably my of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. We had a sea view which was stunning looking over the beach.Breakfast was excellent. All fresh and beautifully presented.

Nothing would definitely recommend

We stayed at the hotel for just one night and chose due to a late tunnel crossing (normally we would travel further) . We were really pleased with the choice , the staff were very friendly and organised parking and EV charging before arrival which made the late arrival hassle free. The room whilst small was comfortable and great for an overnight stop (or more), the view of the beach and colourful huts was excellent and added to the rooms ambience. We decided to have the buffet breakfast before starting the onward journey and was very impressed by the quality and choice. Malo les Bains is a short walk to central Dunkerque and we would certainly visit again and stay at this Hotel , it certainly offers much more than the overnight quick stay we expected , a wonderful and authentic beach resort.

No complaints - This is a great place to stay for what we wanted

I came here in June for the D-Day celebrations as my father was a veteran in WWII. This time, I came with my wife as I enjoyed it first time around. It's an ideal location, secure parking, excellent breakfast, all staff were very pleasant.

Miscommunication regarding the deckchairs opposite the hotel on the beach. We were advised we could use them free of charge as we were residing at the hotel and we would have to pay for the sun loungers and umbrella's. To use the deckchair area, you have to buy food and/or drink.
