The motel is very close to the center of Hokitika, It is a walking distance from the beach and the supermarket. The room was comfortable. The only problem with the room is that in order to keep private, the curtains must be shut. The parking is right in front of the room, and the location is on the main road that crosses the village.

.The laundry area is in the private area of the family that owns the place .We couldn't find a BBQ outside to use. The reception didn't have any brochures or maps of the area, but at the isite visitor center right around the corner we found everything we needed

Convenient location right on main road. Very friendly host who helped to make our stay comfortable. Big room size for family of four. Minigolf and trampoline on site were a hit with kids. Fair price for room and facilities.

Location was also right on train track so the freight locomotives at 6am weren’t lovely. Dishes intended to use were soaking wet and still had food from previous users. No fan in bathroom also made multiple showers a steam room experience even with window open. Horrible bed in master room with severe roll together.

This motel is one of the best I've stayed in, in any country. The facilities were great - fully equipped kitchen, walk-in shower, comfortable bed and a decent-sized TV. Location is wonderful, and walking distance to everything - beach, cafes, shopping centre and supermarket for groceries. So quiet too - slept like a baby. Staff were super- friendly, and nothing was a problem. I would absolutely recommend this motel - Amy and her team will make it a very pleasant stay.

Nothing - I've traveled all over the world, and this motel rates as one of the best.

Great place for a short stopover. The motel is conveniently right on SH6 but the rooms are very quiet, and in our case secluded from the road; it is a short walk from the town centre, which has plenty of shops, restaurants and the beach. The unit is large, big bedrooms with comfy beds, large shower room, good kitchenette. A perfect place to break a West Coast drive and explore this small town.

Nothing - I would happily stay again!

I've stayed in a few NZ motels now that call themselves 4 star, or 'hotels' and which charge just as much as a full service hotel in Auckland or Wellington. But the Heritage Highway really is a premium motel. Modern, tastefully furnished studio room, good kitchen, well situated...Considering it charges the same as the Schitts Creek motels all over the country, it really is excellent value for money too.

WiFi super fast. Good location. Large room. Sky sport was a bonus. Lots of parking.

Some milk would have been nice to have at least been offered for the room to make coffee. felt bit sorry for the family dog that is outside most of the day and barks a bit. Location of room 14 might be issue for those with mobility as you can’t park outside it. Also people sitting at table in front of room and no net curtains felt awkward having to close the full curtains in daylight for privacy. Suggest rather than just a blind on kitchen window would have been good for a curtain too as it was light very early and a neighbouring house looks right in.

Very sunny unit. Well supplied with kitchen equipment. Very clean. Comfortable mattresses and clean bedding. Nice lounge area. Handy to everything in town.

Kids walking past windows on way to playground behind unit. A small inconvenience which didn't detract from our overall pleasant stay. Great that they had a hose available to wash down car.

The location was fantastic, unless we wanted to do day trips we walked everywhere. The staff (cleaners and family filling in) were just awesome. We had some great banter and they really looked after us. Unit was spotless but would may recommend the following. A fry pan for cooking and a bigger rubbish bin, otherwise faultless

No privacy - some trellis between the units would have been good.

Fabulous location - walking distance to everything. Great for families - there was even a little mini golf course that has seen better days but worked for ours sons who had their own clubs with them and a massive trampoline!

Water pressure is super strong - watch out in the bathrooms that we kept flooding!

Well kept property, efficient check in and out. Everything needed for a comfortable stop over. Clean, basic, looked fairly new - no frills.

The WiFi wasn’t very good in room 15, kept dropping on and out. There wasn’t an extractor in the bathroom - not a big issue but was cold opening the window.
