We really loved Hotel Hirsch! It was a perfect choice for us, while we visited Füssen to tour both Hohenschwangau Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle. It's a beautiful hotel with a great location. We were driving, so we appreciated the hotel has parking not only in front, but also is convenient to public parking if their lot is full. The hotel's restaurant is great also. We chose to make a dinner reservation in advance, and were really happy with our meals. One big bonus for us was the hotel offered a coin-operated laundry to guests, which was perfectly timed for our journey. The separate washer and dryer units were of great quality and we got good results in a very short cycle time. (In our experience, this is not typical for hotel guest laundries, so was a wonderful surprise.)

This beautiful hotel was perfectly situated very near the old town of Fussen which meant a very short walk in to all the shops and restaurants and many amenities. The hotel itself is very majestic and the rooms are stunning with amazing views, breakfast was so good with lots of choices of warm and cold food, lots of fruit and cold meats and cheeses, lovely. The staff are so welcoming and will do anything they can to make your stay more enjoyable with little gifts like the Fussen card for free bus and some train travel and discounted access into some amenities. Hopefully a revisit is in the future

Hotel Hirsch was such a great hotel that I was truly sad when we left that I had not booked more nights at it! We had intended to spend a couple of nights here, but I decided before coming to change it to just one night so we could move on and drive into Austria. It was so comfortable, lovely, and nice (they offer free parking, a delicious breakfast, the beds are so comfortable, the staff is very friendly, etc.) that I wished I had never changed my plans and just have stayed here instead. It is a great value for the price and I will definitely stay here again if I'm back in the area!

Literally nothing. I have stayed in five hotels over the course of two weeks and this one was my favorite!

Everything about this stay was exceptional. The front desk and the manager (Harald) are extremely professional and attentive. The rooms are recently renovated and very comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Fussen and the surrounding area by foot (or bike). You're walking distance to a supermarket - and the restaurant with the hotel itself has brilliant Bavarian cuisine with a focus on creative uses of seasonal ingredients (i.e. pumpkin seed parfait with stewed plums). This is as good of a hotel stay as you'll find in Germany (or really anywhere for that matter) - I cannot recommend it enough. Looking forward to returning one day soon.

The location is perfect as it is about 5 mins walk from the Fussen station and the Füssen Pulverturm bus stop is next to the hotel from where you can take the bus to Neuschwanstein castle. The staff is courteous and kind and allowed us a late check-out. Breakfast options are great and they also have a restaurant that serves great dinner.

The mattress was too soft. I'd have preferred a slightly firm mattress. I'd also have liked if they had a Nespresso machine for coffee while in the room.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of character and traditional decor. Very good breakfast. Conveniently located whether you are driving or hiking. 20 mins to the lake, across the road from the old town and next to a supermarket. Our room was a three-person, with a double bed and a single in a behind-the-curtain space.

I expect to have coffee/tea-making facilities in the room, as well as slippers. The room has an electric fan, but is not air-conditioned. It is hard to judge how necessary an air-con might be, but we happened to be there on a fairly hot day pre-thunderstorm and would have appreciated an opportunity to close the window and switch on and an air conditioner.

The breakfast and restaurant were wonderful. They had traditional German stuff and they also had something for Americans who weren't as into that. The room was huge by German standards and the view was spectacular. Location was the best there is in the city.

The hot water in the shower was problematic, but we had the staff look at it and they were able to make it passable. It still didn't have much pressure, but was no longer ice cold. There was no air conditioning, but it is Germany, so as an American, I probably just have to get used to that.

Beautiful property, so unique and full of character in every corner (No hallway or stairwell looks the same). Upon check in, we received a Füssen Pass which covered the bus to and from the castle area (we didn’t realize it was included!) Very comfortable room, and the bathtub was great for a hot bath after being out in the mountains on a cold day. Lots of variety for breakfast. We also recommend the restaurant for dinner!

Curtains didn’t fully cover the window across from our bed so we had to sleep with eye masks just in case. Otherwise no complaints at all!

The interior design is very charming with beautiful antique furniture from the area. We had amazing views to the town and to the mountains. But the best part is the staff. They are very nice people who go above and beyond, and it feels like you’re staying with someone who cares about you.

The drapes don’t block out the light completely in the morning. I need the room to be really dark for sleeping, but that’s why I always have a sleeping mask with me.

Great hotel near castles and outdoor activities. Beds were best on our trip! Comfy and modern hotel with old world charm. At check in they also gave us city discount passes which provided free bus ride to castle instead of driving. Just check schedules carefully and plan your return trip to Fussen.

Did not tell us reservations were preferred for restaurant at check in, but all worked out. Food was outstanding after our short wait.
