Moreover, St. Mary's proved to be a beautiful destination where one can truly unwind and soak in the picturesque scenery.

We can honestly say that there wasn't anything we disliked. We had a great experience overall, and we can't think of any negative aspects to report. The accommodations, service, and atmosphere were all excellent, contributing to a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Even with the unexpected challenge of Hurricane Milton, the owner's attentiveness and care ensured that our experience remained positive throughout. In short, there were no downsides or disappointments to speak of during our visit.

Marjda, the owner and Carol, her assistant, make your stay warm and welcoming. The rooms are roomy and comfortable but also fun. The house/ home is full of stories and past film stars. It is eclectic and humorous. One of a kind thanks to Marjda. Breakfasts are amazing and set you up for the day. The verandahs are perfect to enjoy the wine and snacks Marjda also provides. Also a great location for Cumberland Island and to explore St Mary's. Would stay again and again. Thank you Marjda and Carol.

OMG. This is the best Bed and Breakfast ever!!!! The beauty and detail to a glamorous breakfast both the food and the table settings. The room was absolutely the best, comfortable beds, even a TV in the room. Sitting upstairs on the balcony with a glass of wine and delicious cookies provided for you was so relaxing and visiting with the other guests was awesome. I cannot wait to come again !!!! this is a great get away with your spouse or friends.

The innkeeper, Mardja, is a true gem. She is demure, soulful, kind, considerate, welcoming and so much more. She not only adds to the charm of Goodbread but she is the charm!! Everything was PERFECT! I am hoping to relocate to the area and will always recommend visitors to stay at Goodbread unless they choose to stay with me.

The innkeepers' attention to detail was evident in every bite, making it a truly memorable way to start each day. Speaking of memorable, the room I stayed in was an absolute gem. Tastefully decorated with a blend of classic elegance themed in Gone with The Wind. It provided a cozy haven that was a pleasure to return to after a day of exploring the local area. The attention to detail in the room was outstanding, and the comfortable bed ensured a restful night's sleep. The exceptional service I received during my stay at Goodbread House deserves special mention. The innkeeper went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my visit was taken care of. Didn't seem like there was someone on-site 24/7, would prefer to not leave room key in empty lodging when departing. Could be a safety concern. Gable/Lombard bathroom could use a towel bar. Otherwise, excellent accommodations.

This is our second time staying at the Goodbread House, and we loved it just like we loved it the first time! The house is beautifully decorated, with Victorian art, furniture, wall decorations and artifacts everywhere. Our room was beautiful, as were the common areas and outside. Breakfast was fabulous, all three days. The proprietor and the staff were wonderful. We hope to visit again, the sooner the better!

Everything was perfect!

This is a true jem of Georgia hospitality which you will not find very often. When entering the little town of St Marys with its Spanish moss loaded trees not far from the little harbor, on the the right hand side you will reach the old villa with its porches on two levels. What a warm appearance! The owner Mardja welcomed us so friendly in this house which with all its overwhelming interior decor brings you back a hundred years in time. Rooms with all modern amenities are all following a bit some movie themes - ours was Gone with the Wind. But it all still remains authentic keeping the time travel character. In the afternoon, Mardja will serve you some homemade cake and coffee on the porch, dinner can be taken in one of the little restaurants at the harbor (literally 2 minutes walking distance). And finally there is some complimentary red or white wine which you can have on the porch in the quite and peaceful evening atmosphere. The next morning the breakfast is served fully styled on porcelain (we had fruits, homemade cake, freshly pressed orange juice and brewed coffee not to forget the tasty omelette soufflé). If you are to make a trip to Cumberland Island or just for a few days to ‚switch off‘ from a busy town life, do not hesitate to go here.

The owners/staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The house has such charm and personality. The room was clean. It was within walking distance of where you board the ferry to go to Cumberland Island as well as local restaurants. The balcony, with swings and rocking chairs, was the perfect place to have an evening glass of wine or a morning cup of tea, both of which were complimentary.

The room we stayed in, Bogey and Bacall, had a platform step as you entered the room. My sister kept complaining that the room was small. I think it was the platform that made it feel that way. The bathroom in this suite however WAS very small. We did have a kichenette though which was very useful for our leftover picnic supplies.
