The view was amazing. The place was comfortable as well - comfy beds with extra pillows. Good air conditioning / heating. Clean. Showers were clean. Kettle was clean. The sound of the waves was so soothing.

Very steep stairs to our room. Quite a struggle if you have suit cases. The host / person contacting me about check in is not helpful at all. Asked him for a google maps drop pin of the car park but he couldn’t provide one. Only a photo. He also said not to drive to other towns and take train only. However we drove and found it was much more convenient. Google maps routed us a long way from the car park which had plenty of steps. There’s actually a much faster way down the slope where the cars go. Pls just use this one!

The apartment was all we could dream for. We booked it especially for the view and were not disappointed. It’s such a luxury to wake up in the morning and see the quiet sea and enjoy Riomaggiore before the tourists arrive. The terrace is in the sun during the afternoon and is the perfect point of view to see the sunset.

Parts of the apartment are slightly run down and could benefit from an upgrade (paint peeling off on the ceiling, lounge chair without a proper cover, etc.). Given some of the reviews, I did some extra diligence before booking but ultimately did not regret my choice.

The view from the balcony on the honeymoon suite and the penthouse is amazing and worth the climb! The beds were comfortable and it is nicely decorated. It is clean. Did I say the balcony is amazing! This place is full of charm and character and uniqueness, and I absolutely loved it and our stay. We rented the two and they basically connect, there is an outer door you can close and lock and keep your room doors open, very nice for families, we are traveling with our two adult children and their significant others and this set up worked well for us.

Nothing bad just some things you should know. This property is not for elderly, out of shape, people with lots of luggage or obese. From the train, you travel down several flights of stairs and stone paths. When you get to the the property you travel up five flights of narrow, slippery marble stairs, with no light, and a rope to hang on to (which I desperately needed. I was prepared for this from other reviews, but still it was more than expected.) the apartments are small, but charming. The honeymoon suite is interesting with the glass wall (it does have a shade) but you could sit on the toliet and look in the mirror and see the ocean🤣

The luxury honeymoon suite by the first is truly a gem in the heart of riomaggiore. The stairs to the the flat are typical of any italian hystorical building. The light to the stairs is located on the right as soon as you enter the building. The flat is located in a cute historycal building overlooking the Marina. The view is totally unobstructed from the little balcony which is perfect for an alfresco aperitivo or just to relax while enjoying the view. The flat is beautifully decorated and the bed is extremely comfortable. The flat comes equipped with a little cooking corner. The toilet and shower are very modern and equipped with very nice body/hair product. The staff was extremely nice and polite and always ready to help. Enrico most of all was extremely helpful and kind and made our experience even more unforgettable.

Location is everything! The apartment is typical European small, but nicely laid out and has everything you could want. It’s ALL about the balcony and the view. It’s like stepping into old world Italy

Not a thing really. But let me tell you what I wish we had known- getting to the marina and the apartment is hard, but worth it. If you’ve been traveling Italy or Europe and have more than one bag, store them at the train station and take in only essentials - a backpack or 1 small suitcase. Stairs, stairs, stairs! No other way to the marinara but again WORTH IT! The apartment is on the 4th floor, but this is how you get that view!

We had a balcony that overlooked the marina and the village center. We loved having the extra room in the apartment as opposed to only a hotel room. The balcony, the view and the vibe was wonderful. Our apartment was 4 floors above a great gelato shop. All in all, absolutely wonderful.

the lights in the stairs were a bit spotty and took a day or two to figure out. They are necessary if you are staying on the penthouse level, but this was NOT a bad mark in our opinion.

Exceptional location overlooking marina. Beautiful modern apartment with very comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and fabulous balcony with outdoor furniture. Very clean with daily servicing. Perfect for 2 people. Excellent communication with the host.

Very small bed/living space for 3 people. Fridge and kitchenette not adequate for meal preparation but ok for snacks. Stairs are extremely steep and narrow, even by CT standards. Would suggest having an option of assistance with luggage if required by guests.

Incredible location and view, comfortable bed and bathroom, the terrace was perfect! We were impressed with the soundproofing and the AC when we needed it.

The very steep stairwell to get in and out of the room was pitch black, and we didn’t figure out until day 2 there was a light switch for it (I know that sounds like it should be a duh moment, but you don’t want to go around flipping switches for an entire apartment building without knowing what’s for what). It would be great to include that in the instructions as those stairs feel treacherous in the dark. We also were left half a roll of toilet paper and ran out partway through the stay, even though the room was being cleaned/turned down daily. I’m unsure why they wouldn’t replace/top up the TP but there was nowhere in town I could buy another roll.

The room by The First is located in the old apartment building , that is converted into hotel rooms . Our room is superb, modern , clean with new hardwood floor , rain shower, very comfortable bed and balcony overlooking the beach and the cute town of Riomaggiore. It has good ventilation and airy . We loved our stay there. We know the property does not have elevators , so we travel very light . We arrived very late and got detailed information about self check in.

Luckily we are all able bodied , the stairs going up to the 4th floors are narrows , dark , and rather steep . I dont recommend to book this place for someone with mobility challenged / not fit / heart condition / pregnant . You will have to carry you luggage / suitcase . Backpack is perfect !
