Great location, HKU MRT station literally round the corner from the Hotel with a 7-Eleven close-by. Authentic eateries also on the same street. The hotel is super clean. Staff are helpful. The pool is a must as it's a rooftop and has a brilliant view of HK

This is not a criticism, but be aware that some amenities aren't available because of sustainability measures. So bottled water isn't a thing- but you have a water dispenser in the rooms which is better for the environment. I would bring your own reusable bottle to the hotel - especially during summer.

Really well designed hotel and terrific neighbourhood location just a few stops from Central- everything you need like USB points by the bed, excellent sound proofing, great shower, comfortable bed and pillows, blackout blinds etc - perfect hotel for travellers who don’t need glamour but appreciate the little things that make a stay great. Roof top pool was a bonus in summer also

Nothing really - Cafe Malacca was really good food but was comparatively expensive.

Comfortable hotel located very close (within 100m) to the HKU MTR exit B2. Room was a good size with plenty of space for multiple pieces of luggage. Air conditioning was good too. Club rooms come with a club lounge where you can self-serve free drinks and snacks throughout the day. Between 5.30-7.30pm the club lounge adds a small buffet of hot/cold food and alcoholic drinks. Facilities good with nice rooftop pool and gym, both rarely were busy. Staff were welcoming during the entire stay and allowed bag storage before check in /out. Staff answered questions promptly through booking.com.

A few features could do with updating such as the hotel corridors.

I was really blessed to be given a room with a harbour-view on a high floor. The layout & design of the room itself was good - there was an idyllic feel to it as the sunlight peaked in. And I appreciate the well setup mini pantry where I could make myself a cuppa ☕️ or store the fruits & snacks that I bought from the local stores that lined the street where the hotel was. The highlight of Jen Shangri-La is definitely the access to the HKU MTR station. Get to the ground floor facing the main street, walk towards the right, at the traffic light turn right again at the corner & look ahead slightly to your left you will see the entrance to the MTR. My go to places in HK are Sheung Wan, Causeway Bay & Wan Zai. All these places are along the Blue line that the HKU station sits on which makes it really easy for me to get from place to place. And speaking of getting around, if you enjoy taking slow walks & soaking in the sights, sound & occasional smell of the sea & earth from the stores selling Chinese medicinal herbs or sea produce - the 40mins plus stroll from Jen Shangri-La to Bonham Strand / Sheung Wan will give you a glimpse of the local lifestyle. Thanks to the good folks at Jen Shangri-La (from the front office be-spectacled young gentleman to the sweet house-keeper on the 17tg floor), I had a delightful stay!

Showering in the bathtub 😅 No shower facilities in the gym.

Hotel staff were very polite and helpful; they were at the entrance helping us with our luggage up to the 1st floor reception. The room was quiet, beds were very comfortable but pillows were a bit too soft and low. I liked that the toilet, shower and sink were separate. I liked the timber flooring and black-out blinds, which meant that the room was less dusty. It was thoughtful of the hotel to provide proper mugs (instead of paper cups) and forks and spoons. Had a good view of the harbour.

Pillows were too soft and low. They were feather-filled but just not filled enough. I can't think of anything else I disliked. Everything just worked very well.

Nested in a neighbourhood with all you need just around the corner . Cha Chann Teng , bakery , McD , a supermarket , Chinese restaurant and a local market that can buy fresh fruits and many small local stalls - dessert , roasted meat , dessert shop , hot pot Direct bus to airport , Ding Ding Tram , public small bus

Too short a stay

- Extremely near the MTR station. Station exit is just diagonally opposite the entrance of the hotel. - It is near the Central, just 3 stops away. - Clean, spacious room with enough space for a large luggage and 2 cabin-sized luggages. - Spacious bathrooms. The vanity counter has enough space for skincare and makeup products. - If you are travelling with family, the rooms have a connecting door. - Helpful receptionists who helped to make reservations for restaurants/book taxis.

- No bidet. But I’ve never seen a single bidet anywhere throughout my trip so I guess it ain’t a thing here. - Need to take an escalator to get to the reception, and the lifts to the ground floor don’t work in the early morning (we checked out at 5:30AM). But the receptionist very kindly helped to bring our luggages down the escalators, although it seemed a bit dangerous for him to do it alone. Hotel needs to work on this to prevent any accidents to their staff and guests.

Correspondence from hotel before trip on how to get to hotel etc was fast and accurate. I caught the A10 bus from the airport. It stopped at the bustop and I only had to cross the road, go past the bakery and there was the entrance to the hotel. On seeing me the doors were opened and I was assisted with my luggage up the escalator to reception. I was immediately checked in and everything was explained to me. I had booked a Harbour view Club room with buffet breakfast. My room was on the 26th floor with a marvelous view. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a water filter to fill up your water bottle. There were tea and coffee facilities and a bar fridge. An iron and ironing board, very comfortable slippers. Good quality shower gel, shampoo conditioner and good shower pressure. A complimentary bamboo toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap etc. A most comfortable bed with crisp white linnen and air-conditioning. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. The club lounge was comfortable food and drinks were provided from 17h30 till about 19h30. The pool was refreshing but closed at 19h00. A lovely view from the pool and club room. On departure my luggage was stored as I had a very late flight and I had access to the club lounge to wait comfortably. The service from all staff was exceptional. A taxi was arranged to take me to the airport. Reception arranged my 2 day hop on off bus trip. I even got a special rate. I did buy an octopus card at the airport. I used the MTR a lot and the B2station is just across the road from the hotel. Overall an excellent stay.
