Staying at Casa Mori was one of the highlights of our South Africa trip. The house was absolutely beautiful, and the surrounding scenery was even more breathtaking than the photos. Our room was enormous, well-furnished, and had excellent facilities. The breakfasts were delicious, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Marilyn was a fantastic host—super responsive and full of helpful recommendations. For the quality of the stay, it was also great value for money.

While the location is easy to find on Google Maps, Uber drivers often had trouble with directions and took the wrong route. The property is located on a steep hill, so it's important to drive carefully in a low gear. It’s also about a 10-minute drive from the town of Stellenbosch, so having your own transport makes things much more convenient.

Casa Mori is a stunning property perched on a hill in Stellenbosch. The hosts are warm and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. Each morning, they prepared a delicious homemade breakfast that added a special touch to our experience. The rooms were spacious and full of charm, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Adding to the charm of the property were three friendly and beautiful dogs, whose presence made the stay even more delightful.

The house is located atop a hill, so having a car is necessary for getting around. However, it's easy to access by car, and it's also simple to arrange an Uber or taxi if needed.

The property is so uniquely build up and build by the owners itself over the years which makes it even more special. Everything is so beautiful and wel thought of. The breakfast is amazing. The rooms are so cosy. The view from the room is so stunning. You feel straight at home. Next to that Marilyn and Eugene are the most nicest people ever. The passion that Eugene has for the wine makes you want to dive deeper into wines yourself. His stories and explanations were so interesting. And the wine they make is amazing. The tasting with Eugene is a must. Overall this place is a little bit of Italy within Stellenbosch and a mesmerizing place. I would give it an 11 if it was possible. Can’t wait to come back here!

Location is fantastic and the views sublime. We were in the Valentina suite. Sunlight poured in so it was cosy on a cold winters day. Loved the corner spa bath that trend setters love to tell you is outdated. My reply to that is it is easy to get in and out of so still the best. We loved that the four legged family were around to come say hello and make you feel welcome. Breakfasts were elegantly simple. Fruit and yogurt and granola. First morning was pancakes and second was poached egg on artisanal bread toasted. An array of toast jams and spreads and grated cheese too. Delicious and I appreciated not just the usual bacon and eggs. Hosts are very friendly and helpful too. Must try out the Italian delicatessen and shop down at the brickworks too. Fabulous stay.

The area is absolutely stunning. You feel like being on a Tuscany hill. There is a phenomenal panoramic view which includes Table Mountain and Lion's Head. Best view ever. The house is built of solid rocks, fantastic architecture with great level of details including authentic interior style. The hosts are very friendly, Marilyn made fantastic breakfast and would have offered to cook dinner as well.

Our room did not have aircon. During the day it became quite hot. The fan helped a bit. As we only had a small car with not much PS it was a bit difficult to drive the gravel road upwards.

Everything! What a stunning house, blows you away. We were greeted by the host who was so sweet, told us about the story behind the house, how it was built. The guy is Italian and the Wife is South African, they built the house and it has a very Mediterranean vibe. They make their own pasta, olive oil and other bits & bobs. It feels super homely, I loved how classic the villa felt with the brick work and decor. Bedroom was really comfortable, scenery it's absolutely beautiful you can't get enough of the garden and views. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again when we are back in Cap Town.

That we didn't stay long enough :) Myself and my husband were only in Stellenbosch for 2 nights for a friends wedding.

Casa Mori is an exceptional location making you feel like in Tuscany. The owners are really very supportive - it`s like you are part of the extended family. The breakfast is great and made to your order.

For us everything was fine - for privacy reasons some people might prefer a completely closed bathroom to a floorplan with an open layout (You can directly walk into the bathroom but you cannot see into it as its around the corner).

The views over the valley and into Cape Town are stunning as is a stroll through the orchards. The breakfast was phenomenal. The hosts are most welcoming and really provide a personal touch. We took advantage of the dinner with the hosts "option" for one night and it was a wonderful experience. Dining and conversing over great food and wine. A very relaxing and comfortable time.

Casa Mori is a charming Tuscan-styled villa on the outskirts of Stellenbosch on the top of a hill with stunning views across the countryside. We arrived on a rainy overcast day and decided to stay in and enjoy our extremely large and beautifully furnished room. We purchased some tasty house wine from the Casa Mori vineyard and soaked up the views and ambiance for the afternoon. We had prearranged with the owners to have dinner in the guest dining room. It was warm and welcoming with candles and a roaring log fireplace. The food was a wonderful home cooked affair. We were made to feel very welcome in this family run guesthouse. As we did not have time for breakfast in the morning, we were very kindly given a small breakfast bag to take with us. It is a perfect countryside retreat away from big towns and noisy roads.

Casa Mori is not so easy to find for the taxis. If you need an early morning transfer to the airport, make sure you pre-book your ride the night before. Casa Mori is not within walking distance of the town of Stellenbosch (approximately 10km). The bathroom is huge and spotlessly clean, but it has no doors, which could be a privacy issue to me.

If you’re craving a little slice of Italy, this property will do the trick…and more. The rooms are great, breakfast substantial and delicious, gorgeous views, great pool and really good wine to accompany some stellar sunsets. All in all, wonderful stay and lovely hosts. We were lucky enough to do our engagement shoot on the premises and the pictures turned out beautifully 😍
