Great onsen facilities, feel pampered. Fabulous breakfast. Nicely decorated room and posh common spaces. Hotel is on top of a hill commanding beautiful views of the valley.
The dinner included in the package was the hot pot (we had a better version at a ryokan in Kyoto). We would have preferred the choice of a buffet or a la carte, but this is not possible if using Booking.com. This is a hotel for locals, we’ve seen very few foreigners which explains why shopping is not Tax free, etc. Finally, we wanted Japanese massage (it cannot be with oil, not disclosed to us at booking), it was in the room done by some fairly old and frail ladies. So it’s purely relaxation, but expensive for what it is at JpY 7,500/pers

Amazing hotel. Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc. Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice. The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive. Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos! The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.
We wish we stayed longer

The entire property felt like a luxury resort. The staff was very kind and helpful even though we do not speak Japanese. They were able to accommodate us either with English speaking staff or using a translator app. The room was beautiful and the in-room snacks and drinks were delicious (oishii)! The Onsen, breakfast, and dinner options were also perfect. They even provide a shuttle to & from the train station every 20 minutes. It was a very relaxing stay from start to finish and I hope to stay here again in the future.

The facilities are very perfect. Ie. shuttle bus from/to hotel to train station and ropeway, varieties of gold and silver onsens in one place are stunning we didn’t have to go other onsens to try both of them. Dinner and breakfast are excellence. Staffs at front and dining room are very professional and great service mind.
Price is quite high. Breakfast time from 6.30 to 9.30 am is quite short so during 8.30 to 9.00 am are very crowded.

There was a lot of breakfast options, western and asian so everyone will be happy. The staff were very nice and were patient with my broken Japanese, some do speak basic English too. Staff take your luggage directly to your room once you arrive, which was a nice added bonus you don't get at all hotels. The location is beautiful but accessibility wise just okay, the hotel is on a hill, if you want to explore the area that may be a problem. The options for onsen are extensive, including private ones, and very easy to book and the staff in the spa area are very nice.
I wasn't told in advance that the outside pool would be closed for all of my stay, even though I asked in advance, and was told it would be open for some of my stay. It was okay though because it seemed to be a pool that is more suited to children, and I used the aqua terrace which is an inside spa with various saunas, jacuzzis, and an outside swimming pool. I liked that they had a lot of options for onsen, pool etc. there was a lot of people staying at this hotel but it never felt crowded.

Initially email communication was misleading , you actually don’t need to request for shuttle fr the San Bandai bus from Osaka. The airport shuttle stops n pickup from there. We stayed 2 nights, no need to book private, the 9Fand B2 baths were great, the interactive Kaiseri dinners were excellent, the breakfast was so good, we skipped lunch both days. Spouse making plans to go back next year. We requested the Japanese style rooms and enjoyed it despite tough getting up fr the floor due to my titanium knees

Beautiful location and facility. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Shuttle bus to and from town, bus and train stations ran frequently and was very convenient. Private spa room was gorgeous. Many amenities, including robes, pajamas, slippers, high-quality toiletries, and snacks.
We were disappointed to find upon check-in that the restaurant was fully booked for dinner for both nights of our stay and that we had to go elsewhere to eat.

When we came into the hotel (around 2:25), I was surprised that there were so many people crowded around the front desk. It took 20 minutes for a staff member to show us to our room. In retrospect, this was a testimony to the date (the busiest tourist period of the year in Japan) and to the hotel's fame. After this, everything went perfectly. The room was magnificent. The fixtures, such as the shower, and the amenities, were top-rate. The bed was large and comfortable. The refrigerator was well-stocked with complimentary beverages. The grand bath was large and full of various smaller baths, meaning that we could avoid crowding. The pool was expansive and again, easy to use without any issues of crowding. The breakfast was sumptuous; I could have stayed there for hours. While enjoying a vast array of Japanese and Western dishes, we had a spectacular view of the southern section of Arima Onsen and Mt. Takamaruyama in the background. When I returned from a trip to the town at night to buy milk, a staff member rushed to me with a dry towel (I was caught in a flash rainstorm) and helped me dry off. Everything from the charming European coffeemaker to the salubrious iron-laden waters of the hot spring was just right. Both of us agreed that this was an ideal place for a father and daughter to spend an overnight visit in August. We regret only one thing: That we did not book an additional night.
As I said, the initial wait was long, but I have only myself to blame, as I booked the room during the Bon holidays, a notoriously busy time in Japan. The hotel could, however, comfortably absorb the large number of guests; we never felt that we were packed in. Even the elevators moved fluidly.

Very good and lot of choices . Location is easily access . Room is clean and staffs are very helpful.
We have not chosen dinner at hotel when we booked. But when we decided to have dinner after arrival, dinner was not available.

Room is big and clean. Onsen is super nice and spacious. Game center is entertaining for our kid. Breakfast line is superb and delicious.
Check in and Check out time is too late and too early. We want to spend more time at the hotel.
