The Sanderling reminded us of New England beach properties in Cape Cod and Maine. Great location on both the sound and ocean. The rooms and halls were newly redone in very warm beach like colors. The room was very inviting. The bed was comfortable and beautiful. The bathroom was clean, pretty, and large!

Understandably, the cost of eating in the restaurant was high but the food and service was of excellent quality.

Beautiful location

I have been coming to the sanderling for a long time, it was my families yearly vacation spot growing up. This place is not the same and it breaks my heart. This place used to be elegant. It seems like the have taken away the little things that made it so special like bringing breakfast to the room every morning with freshly baked pastries, coffee and juice. They got rid of the amazing smelling spa soaps that came with the room. In General it seems like they have taken a very corporate route by cutting costs all around and it’s very noticeable, the aspects that made it a resort are unfortunately disappearing.

I loved the pools and hot tubs especially the adult pool section. The outdoor bar/restaurant was awesome and really enjoyed how all the umbrellas and chairs are set up in the morning at the beach. Made it our stay super relaxing and hassle free.

There were many chairs and areas around the resort that were covered in spider webs. One area being our balcony. As someone who hates spiders and their webs, I would have appreciated and expected more upkeep.

Pools, beach & restaurants very conveniently located. The ocean suite room was extremely comfortable and large with a beautiful view.

The prices of drinks & food were extremely high. Also, when the wind was fierce, the outside first floor door would slam and could be felt & heard every time all the way in our room on the 3rd floor.

#1 is personality and hospitality. Every single person was attentive, happy and helpful. The facility is clean and beautiful. The pools are great, morning coffee is a great event, nighttime fires, accessible food and beverage. We could have spent the entire visit on property. Also, close to shops and other restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic.

Dinner prices are ridiculously high for mediocre food. Why?

Secluded beach, amazing pools and jacuzzies and great bar food and drinks. Rooms were a perfect size and bed very comfortable.

Sadly the outside bar closes fairly early so was a bit disappointed with that. A bit far out from any of the towns, but can understand with the private beach.

The breakfast was good and the location was fine; however, the personnel was understaffed. We had to wait often to be seated because the wait staff was only one and she had to help in the kitchen, wait tables and seat guests.

See problem mentioned above.

We had breakfast twice at the Lifesaving Station and it was wonderful. The food is good and the staff is exceptional!

I wish there were easier places/bars to get drinks during the day. It would also be nice to have a coffee bar.

I was given a Deluxe room when I booked just a few weeks before my arrival. On checking in, I was told that I was upgraded to a premium room: my own large deck, incredible view, tables & chairs for 2 to watch the sunset, play cards, enjoy cocktails.

The beach and pool area were great. The restaurants were delicious and the staff welcoming! We loved the Duck area and friendly people!

The long wait time at Kimballs Kitchen restaurant for our food was an hour and a half. But the staff was accommodating and the food was delicious.
