It was so close to the beach! The staff were awesome; I accidentally left my daughter's sippy cup and someone brought it to our room (guess they knew we were the only ones with little kids at that time). Check-in and -out were super easy, and they even texted me beforehand to let me know when staff wouldn't be around (except for emergencies). The older vibe is what lured me to this location. Has an authentic feel to it. I originally booked a hotel down the road, but canceled that reservation to stay here because of the vibe it was given off. It's not a commercially owned facility that we see everywhere now, this place was unique. My toddlers loved the swings and pirate boat on the property. It was easy to keep children distracted. I also loved the access to the little roof area. Chairs were set up to enjoy the views from a higher elevation. This location was close to many food options which is always great! I'm definitely going to be coming back in September.

There was some weed smoking on the beach but that's not the fault from the staff or of the facility. As a tip, if you're trying to be discrete with the smoking, you're not. I just moved down a bit further and was okay.

I love staying in the older lodges. They have character and charm. The location is perfect for the area. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within a short walk or drive.

As a non-smoker, it was great to see non-smoking signs in front of every cottage. Even in the "House Rules" paper in every room it clearly states, "Smoking is strictly forbidden inside and in front of your room." I enjoy sitting outside my room and just chilling or reading, etc. Sadly, every occupied room that I could see, everyone was a smoker, and it was a constant rotation of folks coming out to sit in front of their room and smoke. It was annoying and sucked. So much for trying to get some fresh sea air.

A great beachfront hotel with great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Our room was very clean and met our needs. Being able to talk to a real person to check was really nice and is something that more and more places are going away from. Staff was great as well!

This is an older beach hotel and parking is limited and the spaces are very tight. The rooms are small but adequately equipped. I personally enjoy the charm of a simpler time.

The room was very comfortable and the pool was excellent. The walk to the beach was not far at all. All in all, it was a very good experience, I would definitely stay again.

The bathroom needs to be updated as far as a towel hanger, put back up because there was nowhere to hang, except over the shower.

I got the double room, and it was more than spacious enough. Yes, it's dated but there's a sense of a homey feel. It was very clean and the staff was fantastic. A guy on a cart came through picking up linens dressed in a pirate get up and would trade a shell for a gold coin for the kids. The location is fantastic! I will be staying again!

Excellent location steps from the beach and pool. Comfortable room and very clean overall. No noise and lots of family activities and space for having fun with kiddos and pets!

The tub drain was very slow due to the sand I’m sure. But all good and no real issues.

The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful. It was quiet. I don't remember hearing outside noises. It was pretty central to shops and restaurants.

The shower felt really cramped. Not a lot of options on TV but that makes sense. You should be going out. Could use a little more light. The sink drain was slow.

Cavalier was just a short walk to the beach. The room was clean and the employees friendly and helpful. The pool had plenty of chairs to relax after a day at the beach. There is also a nice playground for the kids.

The shower was pretty small . The pillows are not comfortable.

Loved the oceanfront room, the pool. Love the retro, have been coming here with my family for many years (60 plus). Great location.

The pillows were hard. We ran out the next morning and bought a couple of pillows.

The pictures are exactly what you get! This is a no frills type of place. The place is OLD, but everything worked just fine. Very friendly atmosphere. If your looking for privacy this isn't the place for you. The location is perfect and the price is great!
