Location was great for either driving or taking the train. The train platform is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. My room was a little rustic, but very clean. Could be updated but it would lose the Bavarian feel. I try to book family run hotels with a restaurant. The restaurant at the Waldgasthof Buchenhain was wonderful ! Dinner was very good, service excellent, and the atmosphere is perfect. This was my second time staying here and I will stay again. Hotel and Restaurant staff are friendly, personable, and very helpful. English is not a problem at all. Reasonable stay rates and restaurant charges. Breakfast was very good also.

My room was a little rustic, but it was clean and functional. I really don't think I would change it.

The place is spotlessly clean, ideal location for going walking or cycling, the cuisine is excellent for reasonable prices too. The staff are very attentive and want to make sure that every need is taken care of. The ample beer garden also provides entertainment, so you can relax and enjoy a beer while listening to local music, and if the mood takes you, can even get up and have a dance There’s also a local train stop to take you in to Munich if you don’t want to drive

Typical Bavarian style. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Place itself close to the woods and the Isar. Railway station nearby… in the night was a little festival, but after closing the window, we could not hear anything.

Dark room despite the window

The breakfast in this lovely hotel is my highlight. Lovely decor and surrounding. We did not have children with us, but i find the downstairs children's cinema really cool and also the fact that there are specific toilets for children. Some rooms in this hotel are absolutely great in their decor. Nice vibe.

This specific room decor and bathroom was pretty non descript, but ok. A bathroom extractor fan would be useful, as the bathroom was quite simple and small.

The staff were wonderful - especially Olga at breakfast. The rooms were quite comfortable and very clean. Beautiful setting. Public transport is super close. The restaurant was excellent for dinner.

We had 4 rooms and they were all a bit different. My room was small, but very comfortable. The bathroom and especially the shower was very tiny. One of our group had a beautiful room with a huge shower. The rooms vary in the design but they are all clean and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff are great and welcoming. The hotel is 2 min walk from a train station-5-30 min ride to munich. The breakfast is great. The restaurant was amazing. Rooms were clean. We loved it

Wonderful breakfast. I let the staff know about my early arrival and the room was ready which was wonderful after a long trip. The location is excellent with super-easy access to the S-bahn.

We stayed 3 nights at family suit. Rooms decorated very well with antique furnitures. Family suit has 3 rooms with large balcony. Hotel also have a great biergarden. Hotel also so close to SBahn station. We enjoed too much to our stay. Thanks Stephan and great hotel staff

Location was terrific and close to train that goes into Munich. Nice restaurant.

Coffee at breakfast wasn't quite hot and a few items were empty. But a very nice set up.

All went well but got back to hotel at midnight on Saturday night and left at 05h00 on Sunday morning so unable to pay my bar and breakfast account but was paid during the week following !!!
