Central location with easy access to many restaurants and shops. A good base to explore this part of Wales. Excellent breakfast served by very friendly staff. We stayed five nights and were given a very large room with en suite. It was during the recent heatwave and fan was provided which helped at night. They asked at breakfast if you wanted your room serviced, a policy I agree with on eco grounds. It was also very good value for money and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
The car park entrance is very tight. But doable with care.

The location was ideal for me as had a work event a couple of miles up the road next day. On arrival, I was greeted in a really friendly and helpful manner as I didn't know where to park, but given clear directions on how to access the rear car park. It is tight to get into so go slow, but spaces and security fine. Room was clean, spacious and although at the front of the building on the road, quiet. I would say it had everything I needed and plugs everywhere which helps when you need to do some laptop work. Also the tv, good size basic channels but ability to sign into your own apps if need be. The wi fi worked fine as well. I didn't eat there in the evening as they don't have that option, but recommended a few places and a quick walk that was sorted (nice bar/restaurant in the square). I had breakfast early the next day and again met by a really friendly and helpful member of staff, who told me where everything was and he'd be in soon to take the order, which he was. Dining room was really nice and traditional, all options great and the cooked breakfast I had was fresh, hot and arrived quickly. I travel alot for work and I thought the staff, location, accommodation, food, etc was excellent and would highly rate this establishment, if you're looking for accommodation in this area.
Only slight criticism...the pillows are soft the kind that collapse quickly, so something alittle firmer would very of benefit.

Excellent central location within easy distance of so much, including the bus and railway stations. Kind and friendly staff. Room was lovely and spacious. There was always a space in the car park. The YouTube video showing how to get to the car park entrance was very helpful. Nicely decorated and all in good condition. Great breakfast offer.
Next door to a pub with an outdoors drinking area. Some of the customers of the pub were noisy. Not an issue at night, and something over which the hotel has any control.

Very warm welcome at reception, which was reflected by all the staff we encountered. The room was well presented and spotlessly clean, with ample provision of tea and coffee satchets. Centrally located and only metres from the Lyric theatre and pubs. The choice for breakfast was extensive, it was ample, freshly cooked and served with a smile, so no complaints.
The rear entrance to the private parking is very narrow, but the staff were careful to warn you about it, advising to line up correctly before entering.

Our twin room for our night stay was excellent, very clean and warm, both double beds. The Staff were polite and very helpful, especially at breakfast time as they was quite rushed off their feet. Breakfast was plenty full and very good quality, loads on offer a variety of cereal, fruit, full cooked English, juices and ta selection of teas and filtered coffee
There was NO U.S.B charging points on the plug sockets so I had to buy a 3 pin usb charger. I should have taken one with me but over the last few years staying at hotels this is the first time ive not seen a u.s.b charging point or plug socket available.

The hotel was in a great location, right in the centre of Carmarthen. The room (14) was beautifully decorated, very modern, high end finishes, solid oak furniture and spotless. There was plenty of tea and coffee and a little fridge with milk and water in, which was nice. The breakfast was delicious, a choice of cereals, yogurt and fruit and the full English was perfect, proper HP sauce too! There are 3 car charging spaces in the car park and the car park gates are locked at night from 11pm.
Car park was a little tight to get into but once through the entrance was easy to park. There were 3 car charging spaces.

The overall appearance of the hotel was smart and the room was smart, and a good size. The staff were very welcoming and a very nice breakfast was included.
Literally the only downside was that the room was very warm and when we opened the windows you could hear traffic but later on when the road was quiet you didn't notice it, there is a fan in the room too but that is quite noisy. In their defence, I am a very light sleeper and my friend didn't notice at all. Also it was a particularly stuffy night.

I will never forget my stay at this hotel. For the first time in my life I arrived at a hotel, recommended by a doctor by email to seek an urgent examination at a hospital. After five minutes at Spilman, I walked to the Carmarthen general hospital, arriving there at 16:40 on 12 June. I eventually returned to the hotel by taxi at 02:30 a.m the following morning. My room became a cosy home for the rest of my stay. The weather was disappointing, and my initial plans for sightseeing had to be modified, but because of the atmosphere at the Spilman, I will always retain happy memories of Carmarthen. My chances of returning to Wales are not high, but Spilman would be at the top of my priorities if I did.
Nothing. The conscientious approach of the hotel to breakfast was noteworthy, and all staff could not have been more helpful, from time of arrival to point of departure. Despite my medical condition, I had no problems climbing a staircase to my room. It also gradually dawned on me that possibly one of the most pleasant Wetherspoons that I visited in the UK was located two minutes from the entrance to the hotel at the rear.

A quirky yet sweet little place that felt more like a guest house than a hotel. But the room was very spacious, well equipped and good value for money. I travel a lot for work and stay in more than my fair share of hotels. And I can honestly say that the room I stayed in, along with the bed, was better than most 4* hotels I've stayed in.
Nothing really to mention. The hotel was very upfront with the access issue for parking, so I decided to park a short walk from the hotel. And I am pleased that I did, as there was no way that I'd get my car in there. But that's not the hotel's fault; it's just how the street and buildings were made. The breakfast options were a tad limited, but the service was great, and the food was quick and hot.

Very helpful warm welcome. Assistance with luggage. Good restaurant recommendation close to hotel. Clean and spacious room (number 2). Offer to pay for local parking if hotel car park entrance too tight for our car. Local information of being able to park outside the hotel until 8am. The drive into Swansea in the morning was much easier than the evening traffic from Swansea had suggested. We left Carmarthen about 9am
Hotel car park very tight entrance but many people had used it successfully. The videos sent by the hotel showed how to attempt it properly.
