Very noisy in the early hours up to 4am.

Greart location good parking space .greeted at reception and checking was smooth. We were located on first floor room 142. LIft available but as we were on first floor we walked up. There are a few steps to navigate getting to the room which was not an issue. Room was clean as was the bathroom. first impression there was everything required, tea, coffee . towels The matress was softer then we expected but able have a decent night sleep. Breakfast was help yourself and was good there was wide variety on offer both hot and cold. You could ask for items not on offer as long you make them aware at time of booking such as a veggie/ vegan option. Bar had a good slection of beer . THe hotel is close to town centre and has many eateries close by . Stayed for three nights. Downsight firstly the fan in the bathroom did not work which could be resolved easily. It was very hot in the room and would have helped if the windows could be opened wider. THe furniture in the room looks old as well as the lights which needed cleaning. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will return there again in future. I must thank the reception lady and the older lady who worked in the breakfast area for making us welcome. Breakfast was excellent, I did have a bad evening meal one evening, unfortunately the chicken was so tough I couldn't eat it, I also had a stomach upset after the meal, which was disappointing.Ive stayed at the Ivy Bush for a few years and never experienced a bad meal before.

I requested a room that I wouldn't need to climb stairs, I didn't get my request, although it was only 3 steps I really struggled due to poor mobilty, it was also awkward to carry my walker up the steps, I couldn't do it, but my sister did manage to do this for me, we usually book twice a year the summer and usually October but I am not booking this year for October. I look forward to my breaks as I don't travel far, but am hoping that if I can be accommodated regarding the room I will book next year for either June or July.

I contacted Ivy Bush before my journey just to say I wouldn't be checking in until 5pm. The lovely lady on the phone Sian, was extremely helpful, as I asked about an evening meal, and could a non guest be aloud join us. Sian said it would be fine. Very lovely place and lovely staff. Not sure how it happened, my room was a double and should have been 2 singles ( possibly my error or booking.com). I approached a lovely lady at the desk " Haulwen", explained and she went out of her way to swap me to another room .. Excellent customer service thank you Sian and Haulwen

Always decent value. Good location in the town, & excellent staff. Public rooms very nice indeed - some bedrooms could do with a bit of a refurb - but that's true of most hotels 😀. Either way, nothing to worry about at price paid. Breakfast is very good - and they will knock out veggie sausages upon request! Bonus is large, gratis car park. Trust me - other hotels and pubs in the town have limited and rather awkward parking facilities. All good - our third visit, and we would certainly stay again. Top Tip - check out the Fortune House chinese restaurant a couple of minutes stroll away. Always excellent.

The shower flooded the bathroom - I'm no plumber - but looked like the shower drain just needed unblocking. When we flagged it up to reception they immediately apologised and took the room out of service - so hopefully it gets fixed and it's just a one-off. The biggest hassle was being locked out of our room due to a faulty electronic door lock, at gone 1am in the morning. 10/10 for the night porter - who apologised profusely and rocked up with a machine to reprogramme the electronic door lock. 15 minutes of hassle that we could have done without - but it was resolved professionally. Again, hopefully a one-off.

All good parked up car early no problem. Breakfast very good buffet. Room large and super king size bed. nice bar and outdoor area. All staff friendly and helpful

Noise in room from old fan or something outside all night sounded like wind blowing through the roof. No tables for 2 cleaned for breakfast. I think they might have had a bit of a rush before we came down. But all in all nice hotel and good stay

Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of it. Breakfast staff were great. Nothing was too much trouble. The Bar area was lovely. Very welcoming. The room we had was spotless and comfortable.

An additional staff member at reception would be helpful. I had to wait 15 minutes to my key reset for my room, whilst another person was waiting to purchase a gift, and the receptionist was doing a telephone booking. At times like that, there should be someone else on hand to assist. Shower could do with a bit more pressure, but adequate.

The hotel is tired. It's in need of some care and attention. It's value for money but is a little rundown, example, net curtains on the window torn, paint scuffed. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice from cereals, fruit to full cooked breakfast. Bar has good beer selection and the price is good.

Parts of the building smell musty, specifically the corridor leading towards room 87

Really friendly welcome from the brilliant staff from arrival to departure, spacious room clean and tidy and nothing to complain about shower was good bathroom was a good size and Yorkshire tea in the room 👌 breakfast was fabulous great ingredients my experience along with my wife's is nothing other than Really positive, great value definitely recommend and would return

For the price I paid, I couldn't make any negative comments as it would be unfair .

The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfy but was a bit cold. I mentioned this and they provided an additional heater. The bathroom was nice.

There was a green light in the bedroom ceiling that have of a strange ‘Martian’ glow at night. Once I closed my eyes though I could not see it.
