Everything was absolutely wonderful about our stay at The Liberty Trust! From the moment we arrived everyone was so friendly and helpful to us (special shout out to Christine who checked us in and made us feel so welcome). The building itself is beautiful and the rooms are so comfortable. The complimentary “chef’s bite” is such a special touch and absolutely delicious! The check out is also later than most which is a real plus as it meant we weren’t rushing around trying to get everything sorted for an early leave time. Parking isn’t on site but is literally just over the road (you can see it from the front door!!) and you can park outside the hotel while checking in/out which makes life a lot easier.

Nothing! We loved our stay!!

The property kept the beautiful architecture of the previous bank. Beautful floors, ceilings, marble baseboards. Seems the front desk with lots of marble used to be the teller windows. Was surprisingly quiet in the room. All the staff were friendly and very heloful.

1) Lots of full laundry bags spilling out into the hallway beside our room. None of the bags were inside the big blue bin in the utility room. 2) The blinds are too narrow to keep out the sun in the daytime or street lights at night. They must realize this is a problem because very thin eye masks were provided. 3) Room, hallway and lobby area was 68 degrees on July 4. Way too cold and we only had shorts with us.

Cool, old historical hotel

There were a lot of homeless people in the street and the front door was locked when we arrived. There was no parking on site so we had to navigate trying to avoid the homeless people while waiting for the staff to unlock the door. There was a man sitting right on the stoop of get hotel repeatedly telling me I “dropped something” trying to get me to give him money. After we checked in, we had to go back outside to move our car to a parking garage and then walk back to the hotel. At 10:30 at night with homeless people trying to get our attention, it was kind of unnerving.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Liberty Trust. The room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with a modern touch that made it feel upscale and relaxing. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was welcoming, and the view from my room was a great added bonus. The night staff were especially professional, friendly, and accommodating to any requests I had, which made a big difference. Check-in and checkout were both smooth and efficient. I also appreciated the complementary coffee in the morning — it was a simple but thoughtful way to start the day.

The biggest downside was the parking situation. The designated parking was about a block away from the hotel, which normally wouldn't be an issue, but on a Saturday night, I had to walk past several busy bars and large crowds of intoxicated people. It felt somewhat unsafe and uncomfortable, especially when carrying bags. Additionally, there were no charging options for electric vehicles, which would have been a helpful amenity for guests.

This is a gem of a place to stay, I love the bank motif and the Vault downstairs is a great place to socialize and get some delicious food. The details in my room were really thoughtful, I love having a tea cuddle and there were some things for better sleep. Great walkability to Market Square and Hotel Roanoke, I did some shopping and got some takeout.

The only thing I didn't like about my room was the bathroom door and the shower door situation, they were too close together and I was very afraid of slipping. Downtown on a weekend night is pretty noisy but my white noise app blocked it all out

Very nice boutique historic property. Loved the way they incorporated the old bank features like the vault. Staff was friendly, good location near lots of restaurants and convenient parking 1 block away.

Wasn’t crazy about the restaurant menu so didn’t try it. They really need to use fitted sheets - drives me crazy when hotels use a plain bottom sheet on a slippery mattress cover - just won’t stay on, very annoying. A bit surprised/disappointed they went to all the trouble and expense to convert this very cool old building into a hotel, then installed cheap ‘Super 8’ quality furniture. Didn’t fit. Others have complained about noise issues - we didn’t experience any.

I've stayed at The Liberty Trust several times since it opened and the the high quality experience there has remained consistent. The beds and linens are luxury level and the bathroom and toiletries rival any 5* hotel. Housekeeping is A+ and the Staff are A+++. The lobby bar provides a relaxing experience in a beautifully restored architectural gem and service is excellent. The small plates and drinks are thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Location was excellent and parking was very convenient and easy to access with help of voucher from hotel. Checking in and out was easy with very helpful and friendly staff at front desk. Will stay here again

Breakfast offerings. Breakfast could have offered more basic items like variety of egg preparation, rather than exotic breakfast sandwiches. Too early in the morning for those, but needed more than toast, bagel, muffin, etc. Fruit parfait and oatmeal we had were very good. Coffee was terrible. Since there are many good restaurants nearby, we did not eat any other meal in the hotel, so it would have been nice to have our one meal there be good and satisfying. Fully working coffee maker in room and electric recharging plugs. We had trouble with both.

I did not avail myself of any food options in house, but the space was lovely. The room was small but perfect for myself and I really enjoyed the view of the Mill Mountain Star. It was cold when I arrived but the heat turned on quickly. Parking was simple and close by (and I was allowed to park a few hours ahead of checking in) and I loved being able to walk around downtown (in spite of the 15 degree weather). I would definitely stay at the Liberty Trust again.

The hotel being converted from an old bank building makes for a very cool building set-up. I really like that they elevators are keycard access only so you don't have a lot of unnecessary foot traffic on the upper levels, despite the restaurant downstairs being busy. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the shower was especially great. Actually the plumbing in the building in general is a huge plus, because the water pressure is good and the hot water comes as soon as you turn it on. Had a nice sunset view of the city from my room on the 6th floor that made a nice backdrop for my stay. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is really ideal for exploring most of the best downtown restaurants in the area because it's all within walking distance.

The only two downsides were that there was no included breakfast, but I knew that when I booked, and there is also no on-site parking. There is a nearby garage and they have a deal so that you can come and go as much as you please for $8/day but it's a bit of a tedious setup. Still, not that bad and they are great about letting you load/unload right at the front door.
