The staff were great, a warm welcome from Thomas was nice. A lovely family run pub with good food, pizza for a pound & happy hour, all good 😁. My room was nice, basic but clean with a view over the beautiful garden. Slept well, had a lovely cooked breakfast made by lovely Sarah. Would definitely stay again. Don't listen to the bad reviews, what do they expect for the price paid?

Bathroom is small yes but at least I didn't have to share a bathroom. Was adequate to wash in and use the loo. Only mirror in the bathroom so I took my own. No hairdryer, take your own.

I didn’t personally stay but on behalf of family they enjoyed their stay. The triple room was amazing and had an extra room which was perfect for kids. The bathroom was massive. All rooms were clean, good facilities and everything they needed for one night. We understand you don’t do breakfast on Sundays so we went and found somewhere local. All staff were very lovely!

No breakfast on weekends but that’s ok we went somewhere local.

The pub and garden area was very good. We were there for a wake and the food was excellent!

We were warned the accommodation was basic and I do have to say it was definitely basic. However the bedding was very clean which was its saving grace. It was convenient for us to stay because we had a wake there. We booked with booking. Com which I was not satisfied with. We did try to upgrade our stay but after charging me twice they said it was unavailable.

All great, staff very friendly. The garden is very pleasant and well looked after and my overall experience was enjoyable. There may be loud music, but this stops at midnight. I would definitely stay here again.

Windows limited to 2" opening. In fairness the member of staff I spoke with did look for the key, sadly without success. Again, to be fair, it was a very hot day.

A great pub with very friendly staff, comfortable, clean room with tv, shower and tea making, all one needs for a good relaxing stay and good value for money. would love to have stayed for the full English breakfast offered but much appreciated the coffee, juice and bacon & egg sarnie that the lovely breakfast staff delivered.

Decor and shower a little dated but reflected in the vfm.

Needed more towels(for hair & hand washing)Two more were sent to the room👍🏼 NO HAIRDRYER!!! (Luckily my sister had one I could use) Breakfast was yummy,shame it wasn’t available on Saturday too.

We were placed in the Admiral’s Inn guest house where there was no breakfast room. However, there was a small fridge in the room, which was an added bonus, where we were able to keep our own breakfast bits. The shower was on a huge base, allowing plenty of manoeuvring, but the electronic water control made water flow and temperature control quite difficult.(Water was either full on, or full off and the smallest of thermostat movements made the water very hot, or very cold).

The TV hand controller wouldn’t work, so the main hotel manager changed the cells, but it still didn’t work. Happily, on the 2nd day, the housekeeper explained that the TV had to be taken out of standby using the button hidden on the side of the TV, after which the channels could be selected using the hand controller. But, the TV had to be switched off using the standby button on the side of the TV, because the hand controller on/off button didn’t work. The main hotel dinner menu was good, but the hotel became very crowded quite quickly and the background music was fairly loud and monotonous, but possibly OK for someone used to summer in Ibiza.

This is a great hotel to stay at, especially if you are on a budget. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. They have all the facilities you would expect. Pub below the rooms is large, but not too noisy and serves a good range of beer and food. The free breakfast is very good.

I wish someone had told us we needed our key to get in the building after hours luckily the staff was having a lockin drink party after work so we could get in the building, we didn’t want to take our key with us as going to reading festival and didn’t want to lose it but when we gained entry a smart Alex girl commented we are closed …. Excuse me I’m staying at the pub another staff member with longer hair was very apologetic at her attitude towards us

Great stay, lovely food- comfortable beds which is a godsend after a 16 hour shift. Plan on staying again next week. The only reason didn’t give a 10 is the TVs didn’t work which is not a massive inconvenience but a bit of background noise wouldn’t have gone a miss.
