Beautiful location

Room was very hot Not enough water in the room.Such a shame these no room service.

The staff are lovely; very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, especially bar staff The location is stunning with lots of outdoor space which, on a lovely sunny day is magical The food is excellent and the rooms are spacious

It would be good to have breakfast served a little longer and more choice at the buffet It would also be good if the bar could be open a little longer The rooms need some updating and we didn't particularly enjoy the room we stayed in; the toilet and shower room were both in our bedroom making it slightly awkward and the shower wouldn't drain meaning our floor was soaked. It was also incredibly noisy where we were located making having a bit of a lie in on a Sunday morning impossible which was a shame

Staff at reception did not seem on top of their role.

The building is very impressive visually and exceptionally well kept. The evening meal was very lovely as was the breakfast. I loved our room looking out over the gardens and it was very nice to have a big bath as well as a shower. All very clean and modern but in keeping with the old building. The staff were lovely at every turn, everybody was very pleasant and made the stay even more enjoyable. We will visit again.

Not much to say here. I always love a swim at a hotel and i think this one had a lovely gym but not a pool. That would be the only negative for me.

Spotless and good facilities

Noise from the gym under the Hepburn building. Woken up at 6.30 by drum and bass. Bedroom doors banged rather than closed. So banging doors all night

Beautiful grounds, quiet area and nice walking trails nearby, town has some nice restaurants as well. Staff is friendly and helpful, bathrooms are modern and clean, and the WiFi is great. While there are several restaurants/bar on site, the food options are few, but it is well prepared and presented. The free parking was plentiful.

Room amenities are a bit lacking: Room had no AC (heat only and a small desk fan for cooling) and was on the small side. it was OK for just 1 person, but when staying with 2 (and 2 suitcases), it may be too cramped. Room didn't have a fridge (which would have been nice for an extended stay). A car/ taxi/access to uber is a must for staying as there are few options for public transit.

The 1st room had an issue with the toilet flush, which didn't work. While I was washing my hands, the soap dispenser came off the wall. I did report to the reception. I was informed, they will get the maintenance to have a look at it and fix it. So I asked the receptionist to change the room. She gave me another room. The room was smaller than I thought. I the picture, it looks big with a double bed.

I think the room I was given was smaller than what I booked.

The architecture, the setting and the decor.

The room had a couple of issues - toilet roll holder was broken, soap holder was also broken and one bottle of soap was missing. I also had packaging for the bed runner left in the room. Nothing that would overly spoil the stay, but with such an initial impression, it’s not what one would expect. The biggest disappointment was the bar closing so early - I’ve not stayed in many large hotels that closes a bar when paying customers are still in the area.

The main building is beautiful. I was in a more modern building at the back, that also had the gym in it. I asked for a quiet location for my room. I got it! I had some fab sleeps, for a hotel! There was a wedding on the first night. The music was fab! The bar was next to the wedding venue/disco. The grounds of the hotel are huge, and make for a gorgeous view from the bar and suites. The driveway is impressively long!! They had a couple of charging pods for EV's, which as a newby to the world of EV's were easy to use. The room had an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and kettle. Very comfy bed, fabulous walk in shower in the ensuite.ample space for toiletries, huge mirror. In the bedroom, there was a large TV on the wall.full length mirror with a plug socket next to it!! All in all amazing value.

The food in the bar was quite expensive, I expected that, given the reasonable room rate, but the choice was a bit limited and overly fancy!! You could order the restaurant menu in the bar too. Whilst this is not a bad thing, if I wanted to eat/pay for food like that, I would want to be in the restaurant itself!. I think a simpler menu in the bar works well. Maybe there was a walk around the grounds, but I didn't find one. The grass/ground was sodden after all the rain this winter. A nice pathway would be a great addition.

We had a breakfast, salad for lunch and dinner in the hotel. The food was very good and nicely served. Hotel restaurant had a nice terrace and view into the garden.

For some reason every British hotel I went had a problem with bathroom installations. This time it was leaking seal between tap and shower, bath front panel damaged by water running along a shower screen, uneven laid tiles. Missing decent light above the bathroom mirror was just a negative bonus.
