The breakfast spread was great and the rooms were fine and comfortable. The staffs were friendly amd helped to fix some issues pretty quickly.

The room toilet door needs to be changed as they were rusty and broken at the bottom. Swimming pool was mislabelled. It states 1.5m for the deepest part of the pool but when I went in, I was already tip toeing in the pool just to reach the bottom of the pool, and I am 1.69m. Even my dad at 1.75m was tip toeing. All the depths of the pool needs to be relabelled, or it would be dangerous for others. The room TVs needs upgrading and proper wire connections so that every channel can be watched clearly and hear the sound.

We had a pleasant stay for four nights at Thistle Hotel Johor Bahru. The cleanliness of all four rooms was impressive. I would like to compliments to Mr. Sam, who was very helpful during our visit. The front desk staff, bellboys, and cafe staff were all extremely friendly. As returning guests, we were delighted that Mr. Sam still remembered us, which made us feel truly valued and appreciated.

The renovated rooms surpassed my expectations. Beautiful unblocked view. The staff were polite and respectful. There was a shop in the hotel where you could get bottled water, snacks and other items.

The breakfast could have been more varied. Also noticed that it was packed during breakfast and a queue was there after 8am. Swimming pool could be cleaner. Be careful near the slide area as my seven year old who is quite tall struggled there. Parents must watch their kids throughout.

Thistle Hotel is no doubt a beautiful hotel. It stands majestic despite 30 years of wear and tear. They have a lovely pool area and gym facilities, and the Glass restaurant whips out a fabulous buffet breakfast for the hungry guests. The front desk ladies didn't seem friendly nor were welcoming. Possibly the language barrier. However, there was a gentleman named Sam who was very well-spoken and efficient in handling our issue with roaches in the room. The housekeeping staff were also friendly and helpful when we requested bath gels and toiletries. Overall, we did have a wonderful stay.

Thistle needs to eradicate its roach problem. They have a beautiful hotel, and the critters are slowly taking over. The management has to tackle this problem as guests will definitely be put off by these pests.

Excellent breakfast with lots of varieties. Very impressed with the staff and cleanliness of the hotel. The staff are very polite, helpful and honest. My wife left some valuables in the room and the housekeeping and management kept it for safekeeping until it was collected by my brother in law. We arrived early morning on 1st day tired and exhausted after 13 hours flight but the staff was kind enough to let us check in early at 12.

I like the place that the hotel located, I like hotel's lobby and buffet lunch and the swimming pool.

Room was big but too much dust and bad smell that not good to take breath properly. Did not get any breakfast because room was booked without breakfast, Bed totally horrible because the bed both side were very slippery and me and my wife going down in whole night and my daughter only stable in middle, middle mattress was very foamy. So management should take care of all those the problems. thanks

1. The renovated room not included proper wardrobe 2. Long queue for the breakfast (0800-1000), with limited seat for guest especially during weekend. No tentative/option offered by hotel to guest & let them frustrated without available seat or meals. 3. Guest highly advised book for room only without breakfast which will be frustrated for the rate paid. 4. Bathroom facilites mostly not proper installed or not functioned.

Beautiful place and close to the city, nice staff, delicious breakfast, the pool is big and beautiful, easy and free parking

There are many stairs and the elevator is broken, making it difficult to get to the pool when there is a baby using a stroller. It's hard to turn on the hot and cold shower water, please fix it

the view from our room, nearby restaurants, location is wow. spacious room but at 3am onwards I don't know who switching on/off the stand lamp repeatedly 3 times. that's not a big deal for me, I feel entertained.

A bit slow upon check-in due to their system was down. We came from our long flight (15 hours journey), that's why feel a bit tired.
