-Historical aspects of the hotel and the lobby were interesting -Breakfast was simple (mostly carbs) but they did have hard boilled eggs and protein yogurt so that was good for us -Parking was across the street, but gated overnight. -Hotel has a musty smell, but our room didn't. We were in a corner room, 3rd floor. Pretty noisy from outside traffic -Staff were helpful and courteous plus gave us recommendations on local places to eat. -We stayed two nights in a King bedroom

-Bathroom was tiny and had no fan. Another mirror in the room would be helpful to be able to get ready since the sink is so little -Pool was closed, but we weren't planning to swim anyway so it didn't matter to us

If you’re in to nostalgia this place is for you. Decor is Victorian era and there are pictures of the famous who stayed, in the walls. Early jazz is playing in the lobby to help give you the vibe. The rooms are interesting..at least ours was. No a/c so be aware of that our window was open to our room though. Nice big bed. Very small bathroom. But tub is deep enough to soak. No lounge/bar Sunday,Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights. We were bummed by that. It would have been nice to have a cocktail in the grand lobby with all the previous guests (pictures). No restaurant on property. There is a patio and a pool.

What an amazing property so rich in history & character! Loved roaming the hallways viewing all the exhibits of its glorious past & portraits of famous people who have lodged there. The facility looked well-maintain, but was struck by lack of use in the summer season no less.

Wish the on-sight cafe & lounge had been open; not too many options in the area. The beautiful lobby sitting area in front of the gorgeous fireplace begged to relax with glass of wine or hot tea while listening to some piano music. Was sad to see such a glorious grand dame underutilized, so much potential!

Historical aspect of the property, lots of memorabilia from famous guests, presidents, First Ladies, actors, sports stars, etc who have stayed there in its hay day. The furniture, drapes are also of those days. The room was very clean and the windows open. Parking was plentiful.

For the price, we have had a more lavish breakfast and more beautifully laid out. They have maintained the property, but seems to not have been renovated since it was visited by such dignitaries. The junior suite was tight in space in that the bathroom door almost touched the king bed when it is opened.

The hotel is lovely. A pretty building, inside and out with a pretty pool area/court-yard. The place clearly is of historical significance. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, Parking was free, safe and plentiful. Breakfast was nice and included in the room price.

The immediate area around the hotel looks and feels like an industrial/business zone with unsightly shops, businesses and fast food restaurants. That is a shame as the hotel itself is lovely, and clearly, of historical importance to the city. The pool was not heated and therefore not open.

We stayed at this hotel in Eureka for one night and found it to be architecturally and stylistically unique, with a charming and thoughtfully designed atmosphere. The front desk receptionist greeted us warmly and efficiently, making the check-in process smooth. Our room was spacious, pleasant, and clean. There is an elevator to the guest rooms, and the hotel offers free on-site parking, which is a great convenience.

From the parking area to the hotel entrance, there are several steps, which makes the property not fully accessible. The bathroom in our room was quite basic, and the breakfast offered was also rather minimal. We stayed just one night—arriving late in the evening and leaving early in the morning—and felt the price was a bit high for such a short stay. It would likely be a better value for guests staying multiple nights.

Like the property itself. It has so much history and charm. It truly is a part of the cities charm.

The star was fairly lackadaisical. They did not care if I was there or not. I had to ask about the breakfast. I had to ask about pool hours. The parking was explained well. During checkout, In the morning it was hard to get the front desk person off of his phone to ask a question. I am sure that his phone was more important than my presence, but I couldn’t tell.

Historical and interesting place for a short stop in Eureka. Good access to Rewood State and National forests. Rooms are nice with solid furniture. Loved the leather chair in our room! Loved the memorabilia and the stories posted around the hotel.

Neighborhood is a bit awkward. The lighting is dim in the lobby area so when you first get there you may second guess the choice. Have several dining areas but breakfast was served in the smallest so seating was limited. Pool area is nice but was under repair when we were there.

We enjoyed this historic hotel away from the main drag. it was quiet with a comfy bed, decent breakfast included, windows could open, coffee in room, closet, charging cube. We enjoyed the atmosphere of antique furniture & photos of famous folks who had stayed there. There was secure parking & we could walk everywhere for the RCMF.

bathroom door was hard to close. Need a fan for the bathroom. need more suitcase holders - 2 people sharing a room each have a suitcase but most hotels only provide 1 holder - makes no sense to me. Unable to find normal TV channel (CBS), desk couldn't help so I missed my NFL game.

The location was excellent - with the theater and two good neighborhood restaurants literally steps from the hotel, and the waterfront about six blocks away. The beds were comfortable, and there were excellent toiletries in the bathroom. The front reception 'great room' has been fully restored with vintage furnishings and a fireplace. A free continental breakfast was available in a small breakfast area. Free secure parking was available. A small mini-refrigerator was well-hidden in a cabinet.

The rooms have no air conditioning nor screens on the window, and only a small antiquated wall heater. The room telephone is purely decorative, and housekeeping service us by request only. The television service is strictly Roku/subscription service, with one of those minimalist controllers with no numbers, which my companies and I found very frustrating. There were only a handful of guests at the hotel, the restaurant did not open during our stay, and the lounge was open only from 5-9:30 pm on Fri/Sat evenings. My companion found the nearly empty vintage hotel somewhat creepy, but it added some ambience to our Halloween week...
