The room was nice. The staff at the reception were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was exceptional.

One of the bar men in the 1910 bar was very rude and not at all friendly. We asked for a drinks menu and that seemed to annoy him. Apart from him, all other staff members were so nice and friendly. The configuration of the bed, the sofabed, the chairs and the tv in the junior suite was a bit weird and didn’t really make much sense. We were under the impression that we were going to have 2 rooms (as per the photos and description of the junior suite on the website) but we had just one big room for 4 of us. We would have booked two double rooms if we had known. It was way overpriced for what we got.

Hi, Thank you for the opportunity to add some note here. Everything was really great, the staff was very kind and helpful as well. The continental breakfast was also good and very tasteful. We arranged the breakfast the day before late on the evening, but that wasn’t any problem at all. The location of the hotel is perfect with a parking garage as well next to the door. The train station is not even 200 meters from the hotel, but you won’t hear a sound from it. It’s a safe location and in the city centre. Just perfect for a weekend or longer. Hotel is a 10/10 rate.

Everything was great, no complaints

Everything was great - but i would say that if you are booking dinner, bed and breakfast ensure you get vouchers for the dinner as previously when i stayed, there was a mix up and i ended up paying for dinner. however, i was returning 10 days later and after a few emails, they were able to leave vouchers and refund me for the previous spend (by vouchers) when i stayed again. They admitted this was their fault and if i hadn't have been staying - they would have refunded me. BUT - just ensure you do ask for this! The breakfast buffet is fantastic.

All good once the dinner issue was sorted.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the appearance and general condition of the hotel were extremely impressive, and the room was quiet, very comfortable and nicely appointed. The breakfast was absolutely first-rate! The hotel was very conveniently situated for us, just near the railway station.

We would have liked to have eaten in the hotel restaurant in the evening (after a long train journey), but the options on the menu were rather heavy. Some big salads would have suited us better - having sampled their breakfast, we know the chef and kitchen staff would have done them well.

The location of this hotel is very good, just 2 minutes walk after getting off from the train. It's also very convenient to take U bahn and S bahn from the hotel. There are some good restaurants near the hotel. A very good Chinese restaurant is just beside it. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk to the downtown to go shopping and visit the Rathaus (city hall) plaza. Breakfast is very good and costs 28 euro. I invited my friend in Hamburg to have breakfast with us. The hotel is big and has many rooms. It's a little complicated to walk from the lobby to our family suite.

We have to carry our suitcases by stairs because there is no elevator in that area( and there is no space to fix a elevator). Although we have to carry heavy suitcases for one floor, we all think this hotel is very good.

Beautiful hotel, very stylish. Fabulous entrance with stunning furniture and plants. Reception staff very friendly Buffet breakfast was lovely and was in a beautiful setting ,very art deco. With some lovely features .

The room was much smaller than I thought and how it looked on the pictures. I can't remember asking for a quiet room??? My out look was pretty grime,onto a roof of another building or looking at other rooms across from me. There was also a really horrible smell in the shower like rotten drainage. I didn't complain as I was only there for one night ,but meant I didn't want to use the bathroom much. My fault I know as I should of told them.

The entrance is beautiful and the rooms are a good size. We stayed for one night and had a lovely room, so we asked to extend our trip for one more night. Unfortunately the lady at the desk said we have to check out at 12pm, book another room via Booking and then check in again at 3pm. We found that to be quite a faff because we had to pack up and store our luggage for a few hours until we could check in again. Apparently our first room was booked, but that doesn’t make much sense considering it was a Medium King, and there were plenty of those free. It would have been better to move the new guests who hadn’t even checked in yet, they would never have known. The second room we were given was not clean unfortunately, the bed was full of hairs. Thankfully the lovely lady we met on day one switched our room within minutes and room number three was clean. She was a real gem, despite being a new member of staff! It would be good if all the staff were as helpful. You get a bottle of water and tea and coffee in the rooms. The beds were very comfortable. Despite being right by the train station and a busy street, the rooms are absolutely silent! If you’re staying in Hamburg, we’d definitely recommend the 2 hour “Hafen Rundfahrt”! If you book via Booking you can get it much cheaper. Also, the bakery across the street is amazing!!

There is no parking.

The hotel itself looked good, especially the reception area with the wonderful Christmas decorations and chandeliers.

1. The wardrobe in my room had a weird construction. You couldn't hang anything full length, even long jumpers and skirts couldn't be hung freely. 2. No black tea. I am sure you have many English clients (I heard a number of English accents during my stay). Would it be so difficult to have a black tea like English Breakfast or Assam available as an option? Not everyone likes fruit or herbal teas. Darjeeling is all very well, but it is a floral tea, not to everyone's taste (certainly not mine). 3. The service at Emil's Bistro was at times pretty slow. For example, one time we ordered tea and cake at the same time. The cake came pretty quickly, but it was another 20 minutes before we got the tea, by then we had finished the cake.

It is a very grand hotel. The breakfast was excellent.. The bathroom was a good size.. The bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a Nespresso machine in the room. Staff were very professional. The concierge at reception gave us very useful local advice about transport passes and where to go in the city.

No luggage rack in the room. The medium queen room is quite small. Not really suitable for anyone with big luggage. The hotel is quite expensive but perhaps that's normal for Hamburg. It was a summer weekend.

The location is perfect, just a few minutes away from the central station so you are well connected within the city. We arrived very late and since it was a last minute booking the staff was very kind and gave us an upgrade to the suite room which is big enough for 4 people and has everything you need included kitchen and all the amenities to make you feel comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained, we had such a great experience. I will definitely recommend it and the next time I visit Hamburg I will stay here again.
