When I read the reviews before booking everyone described the owner as a friendly helpful lady just like your mum... Joan certainly lives up to the reviews. Her home is very clean and comfortable and the breakfast plentiful with all provisions you could need (cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bread, toast, preserves, juice and obviously the full cooked breakfast and tea/coffee)... When she found out we were on a trike she offered to let us use the garage but the area felt very safe so we declined... Whilst out grabbing some food from the village there was a huge thunderstorm and we got soaked riding back (Joan had kindly offered to drive us to town but we declined... our mistake as it turned out... but she did dry the wet clothes in the dryer for us)... The view from our room was brilliant over to the bay... It was just a shame we only booked the single night on our W-A-W tour but would love to return one day...

We are very happy we could stay with Joan. She is a very nice lady who welcomed us very nicely. We stayed with her as we had booked a Whales Atlantic boat tour probably 20 minutes far away by car from her house..She had a very nice water view and she was based not that far away from beaches. We came in the evening and she offered us tea, coffee and biscuits. She kindly asked us what time we would like to have our breakfast ready. The table was set up in old fashion style and we loved it. All was fresh and tasty. The room is small and the bathroom too but clean and new, and I think that for one person or couple is okay.
There is nothing we can say we didn't like.

Joan is a supper kind lady who made us feel very welcome. The room was super clean and tidy. The bathroom smelled nice and was also clean. For breakfast, Joan gave us so many options and made sure we were happy with what we had. The place itself is a nice and cozy house, not too far from clonakilty and close to inchydoney strand, which allowed us to go for a walk at sunset.

Privately owned B&B, lovely owner. Felt like I was staying at a relative's house. Joan was very helpful and kind. I arrived after a long day of travel from USA via Dublin (via buses) and was offered tea or coffee and biscuits upon arrival. Great way to settle down before sleep. Beds comfy, very clean. Breakfast was delicious.
Nothing to add. The place was in a perfect location for where I was headed, easy cab ride to the workshop I was attending. Lovely lake view through the front.

What a wonderful place, amazing setting, beautiful scenery. Super friendly and helpful host, I can only say I had a very enjoyable stay and the breakfast was varied and plentiful. I was greeted with a hot drink and biscuits, which was very welcome after travelling. The room was clean and suitably equipped, and my host was so welcoming and helpful, thank you so much. Exceptional value for money.

Joan is such a warm and welcoming lady We were a little late arriving and we rang Joan beforehand and she was so relaxed Joan gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner When we arrived at her beautiful house she gave us a very warm Irish welcome and immediately gave us tea and biscuits She was very generous at breakfast with delicious juices bread a wide range of cereals and delicious yoghurts The home cooked Irish breakfast was the most sumptuous we had on our trip She spoke to us about local attractions and places to visit It is abundantly clear that for Joan hosting is a joy not a business enterprise God willing I will have the pleasure of booking with Joan soon again Joan you are a lady in every sense of the term

Joan's B&B is in a beautiful area of Clonakilty. Double room ensuite was perfect for our stay. Bottled water in the room with plenty towels and toiletries. Joan herself is the perfect host offering tea and biscuits on arrival. Breakfast following morning was excellent with juices, cereal, breads, fruit and yogurts, followed by a full irish breakfast. Amazing

Very accommodating and good communication leading up to our arrival. We were able to use the dining room to eat our dinner. Breakfast provider many options and was very tasty.
Tea and Coffee facilities innthe room or in the dining room would be nice so we didn't need to bother anyone for a cuppa. You could hear other guests going into and out of their rooms.

The hostess Joan was absolutely fabulous and very welcoming and helpful to us. The breakfast was excellent and abundant. The house is spotless and the quiet location is beautiful . Located near 2 great hotels and beaches as well as being a taxi ride to Clonakilty €15. Hostess recommendation for dinner was excellent and the town is full of great spots to eat for all price ranges .
Whist the bathroom was shared with one other room - it actually was no problem at all. And this sharing was clearly indicated in the booking so no surprises there.
